Without words... One of the most soul touching song from The Doors. Great hypnotic high-pitched Vox Continental lines in this song, and you rendered it on a piano with a lot of taste and soul. Very great work from you! 5/5 stars!
As a recognized pianist I totally disagree, this and many other songs show his remarkable talent. Jim Morrison gets the recognition as a singer/poet as he should. Ray Manzareks melodies and compositions are genius, yet seldom if ever, is he recognized individually for them.
I think youre wrong Ray is definitely the person who made me love The Doors, his organ, and piano melodies are what made the music sound the way it does. The whole band altogether are incredibly talented but Ray is in another world
Ray Manzarek himself was trained at the Chicago conservatory of music for classical and jazz training. He got technical inspiration from Bach a lot. You can hear those Bach idioms in a lot of Manzarek’s left hand work in any Doors tune.
I remember reading that Ray felt he was not a very good piano player. If he is bad then show me good. Its one thing to play it, another to compose it. He did both. Ray you are a GREAT pianist!!! Thank God I grew up in the 60's
Why can’t people realize how great The Doors were as a band. Young people every year turn on to their timeless music. I want break on Through played when my ashes are scattered at my favorite place to body surf at San Clemente. Thank you Ray, Jim, Robbie and John.
Ever think that many music fans just don’t like The Doors for whatever reason? I don’t worry about insignificant popularity poles when it comes to music. I’d rank The Doors in my Top 50 Artists and I’d probably rank them higher but Radio really turned me off to some of their tunes...obviously, not this one.
@@Oh_I_Willlate reply, but the reason for this was political. The White House itself had a grudge against the Doors after the Miami “incident”. Jim was akin to Public Enemy #1, and this swept through Conservative America like wildfire. Many people bought into all this, and so the bands credit was unfairly tainted-to this day.
Beautifully done. This song always reminds me of a time of innocence, ,and having to change into the time of experience, like a farewell to the past, but a hope for the future!
Fantastic... It's wonderful how the song can sound, let's say, little bit psychedelic with all the rest of the instruments and sound like a marvelous classical piece in a good piano arrangement... The Doors are certainly uniques.
The way it was played by this piano player he certainly knocked this one out of ballpark. When Jim Morrison wrote this particular song he didn't know it would be a masterpiece. Ray Manzarek also did his piano renditions as well. This song sounds great when also played by piano.
the scariest, loveliest most haunting tune.. I'd be so happy if I could play like this.
You say that, but then you get to that point and it's like "well what now?"
@@pat3000721 by now they surely have, we won’t ever know

You and me both.
You can!
One could weep to the song. So haunting, so sad, so beautiful

Agreed, Ray Manzarek carries the music equally as much as Jim :)
among musicians he is.
Absolutely correct
Well said!

A gorgeous piece of music played beautifully.
Well played. A somber, bitter-sweet ballad reflecting on a past love. A composition by creative genius. Feel the mood.
Absolutely beautiful. Makes me appreciate the original song even more
Played tenderly as it should be and with feelings. This video really brings out the beauty of this song.

There is something about this melody that is both beautiful and haunting.
Like all masterpieces it touches your soul.
A timeless classic beautifully interpreted here
That song gives me chills! Remarkable piano!
