Thanks for the video... Just bought 3 kayaks on Father's day... Been experimenting with different tie down methods.. Yours looks easier than what I have been doing so far.. I will try it out.. 👍

It really is simple enough that a strap across their middle to hold them DOWN and one out to the ends to hold them IN is super good enough! add any extras that you’d like! Thanks for watching!

Thank you for this video. I am a female who drives a truck and 2 of my friends had no way to transport their kayaks and asked if their scout fit in my truck. I said I would have to get back to them after researching my options. After watching your video - I am more confident that this method is the simplest and will work. Thank you and blessings upon your family.

ATTN: UA-camr viewers: He checked with TN law, but in my State, this is completely illegal. I have a 2019 Toyota Tundra Crewmax 4 Door with a bed cover which I haul my 10.5 Ft Wilderness System Pongo 105. Not every State or County allows you to load kayaks/surfboards in the back of your truck. Maybe 20, 25, or 30 years ago it was legal here, but not anymore. I live in Los Angeles and if I just through my kayak in the back and if the Highway Patrol pulled me over, its a $600.00 fine. I had to break down and buy a Rhino Rack System for $400.00. Before you make the mistake and load your kayak, surf board etc., contact your local Highway Patrol or State Trooper in your state. DON'T JUST ASSUME ITS LEGAL!

Yessir that’s correct! Your truck has a relatively short bed of 67 inches. That would leave quite a bit more of the kayak hanging out the end of the truck. But also remember not every state regulates everything like California.

Also I will research California law more today, but I think it is still legal to carry a kayak in the back of a truck there. The extended load law there is the same as Tennessee. leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displaySection.xhtml?lawCode=VEH§ionNum=24604.

So yes please EVERYONE review the laws of your state and know before you go. I found the California law online in a 10 second google search.
