2023 RockShox, BIG updates, all new internals! PS - I forgot to mention in the video that RockShox removed the sag markings from the fork. That was definitely useful, time to get out your tape measures!!
Do you think this affected the plushness of the fork ? Could the writing cause resistance on a very small level ?
Bean Counters suck, obviously they don't ride MTBs
No point in measuring sag. offers no information to help you tune your suspension.
The fox has an ebike tuned version available.does the r/s benefit from a special extra tune for ebike ?

Great video. Nice onboard footage. Glad to see these big updates as it reduced the price of the 22' ZEB Ultimate to $700. I just purchased to one replace a Yari/Lyric Ultimate. Looking forward to next series of comparison videos as I start to play around with settings a little bit on my new ZEB.

I just got the rail 9.9 cx and it’s an awesome E-bike. It came with the Zeb ultimate and I’m impressed. I ran 10psi less than the recommended for 80kg rider to get 30% sag and felt it was a bit to supple so I went with the recommended for the weight and it was much better, i bottomed out the fork with 1 token in and 1 click HSC and it was harsh, I thought the frame had failed. I totally agree with your comments and I would buy the zeb if I didn’t already have it. I do run the rebound 2 clicks from wide open to get the right feel, Comp 1click from full open and Low speed 6clicks from Wo
with quality videos like this you can see how your a fraction off 100k subscribers.

I just put a higher end damper in my fork, a 2022. Might have to ride it a couple years then change. I have the lower end shock though, that is something I'm really interested in changing over to.

Im a big fun of the fox but to me this time Im switch to rockshox zeb. And for me it works better then fox 38. I was comparing fox 38 vs 36 and for me the 36 is more progressive. But I made my mistake and ending selling my 36 for the 38. After that when I tested zeb 38 i fun how progressive and and smooth as the fox 36 and but with this new technology for me is my next upgrade thanks for the video is a great information

Going to be interesting when those elastomers go brittle and disintegrate during the cold winter months. Only good thing I can see is the HBO on the coil shocks.
The Lyrik also became 20% stiffer, which is the same as the Zeb claimed (21.5%). So basically, @160 your Zeb is also 300g lighter and is named Lyrik 😉
Rob, I just bought the new Lyrik for my Focus Jam 6.8 went on the tuning app and put in recommend pressure but felt harsh and I let used 60% of the travel. Iv have taken out some pressure which has made a difference but no one on has really gone into detail and setting up high and low damping and rebound. Be interested in a details set up if you had a chance or time. 🤟
You may have it figured out by now, but you could try the following and see if it helps:
If you have the stock ammount of tokens, try adding one or two then run more sag. Try 30%.
LSC: 0-4 clicks from fully open ( add clicks up to 4 if you are on steeper trails with g-outs, should stop the fork diving in corners and on steeper stuff)
HSC: fully open
Rebound: check recomened for your wieght
Rear:
add tokens if stock
30-35%
LSC: fully open
HSC: NA
Rebound: as stock
High and low speed is the rate in which the fork stanchion moves in the tube. Big hits, drops, roots and rocks would be effected by high speed damping. Low speed damping is rollers, g outs and slower fork movement. Nothing to do with the speed the bike is traveling.
+1 to a back-to-back with the Fox 38s
that buttercup reminds me of some suspension seat-posts that are out there

Ultimate or across the Zeb range ? What's the cost & can you switch over to the new damper 3 as you were saying it's the same chase from the damper 2.1 ? Or is that not possible because of the bleeder valves & lastly price ?

Nice review Rob! I currently have a 2022 Zeb Ultimate. I really like how my current Zeb keeps its ride height but I would sacrifice a little ride height for less chatter off the top.
It's going to be interesting to see how the new Zeb does against the 38.
The new one id supposed to ride even higher i think.

Hi! I love this video but i still have a question. I just got an specialized enduro comp that came with a ZEB select+ and it just comes with two adjusters. One for speed and the other compression. Still a very good fork but what can one do to make it better? What do you suggest to do with it for it to work better? I do feel vibration and noise...the zeb is a 22 model I believe
The zeb is the only 2022 rockshox fork out of Pike, lyrik and zeb that can be upgraded to the charger 3 damper and air spring with the buttercups. The only difference is you won't have the air bleeders on your lowers. Not sure of cost.
I'm a light rider 60kg so have just put a charger 3 lyrik on my new EMTB, so far so good. I'm impressed.
Can you test charger 3 vs avalanche?
Could you fit that into a domain b1+?

Hey Rob, if you already have a 2021 zeb ultimate would you say its worth upgrading to the this newer zeb or are the improvements very minimal?
The chassis is the same, so if you really want you could upgrade the internals (only valid for zeb though, pike and lyrik are new platforms)
@The lower legs have more sliding surface to support the stanchions so if you opt for upgrading the internal, there is still some difference.

What travel were you on?
Have you ridden the Zeb , ebike fork ? Thoughts. No compression adjustments , but rides pretty nice.

I have to say I love the filming angle you got for this review. I used to do this on my motorcycle to see the Ohlins at work and it’s wicked to see. Would also love your opinion on the new Ohlins 38 29er if you ever get one for comparison. Brilliant review and production as ever 👍

Yes, you can upgrade the Zeb to the Charger 3, and also, the Debonair+ update :-)
Buttercups apart, is the actual performance a significant increase versus Charger 2.1 ?
It is a familiar feel to the 2.1 but I seemed to need less pressure and less (zero) tokens, so there's definitely some massive changes inside. The LSC and HSC are definitely improved, more range it seems. It feels different enough throughout the whole travel compared to 2.1, but I'd still be happy with the 2.1 for sure! I think

Just get a better fork. The ERA has a mini spring and dual chamber air. This thing is still using plastic tokens. Keeps the margins nice and high for RS. Whole range is made to maximise profit and keep costs as low as possible.
ERA is excellent no doubt (I have the Storia v3) but it comes at a more expensive than Zeb at £1600

Copying fox with the bleed valves
Bleed valves have been around forever. Maybe not in MTB, but no one is copying no one per say. Competition is good for us all.
Also, MRP came up with this idea for mtb shocks when they released their ribbon shock with air bleed valves before Fox did though. Also, Fox is now suing Rockshox for this lol! Then again, Rockshox has being suing Race Face(owned by Fox) for their narrow/wide tooth chain rings which is a Sram technology/patent.
