i found his channel when i was like 10 or 11, discovered it again about 2-3 years ago and now keep up with what little has happened in 2016-17. hes uploading more in 2018 tho so thats pretty cool

An magnet is added to the back of a speaker to reduce any interference with other devices. This is another alternative to shielding cans.
Travis Piper it can also be used the other way as described especially considering the lower driver did not have the second magnet

Could be both. It is used to even out the magnet field so the coil moves in the same magnetic field strength.
And also magnets can just be shielded by an opposite magnetic field canceling it out.
The "Can" is just a Magnet with a magnetic field of the opposite side to cancel it out.

I think those vents on the basket of the woofer are actually holes for riveting on a larger magnet, but of course they cheaped out and put on a tiny little magnet.
No, you'd have to have a curved magnet to get those to fit lol. They are literally just vents.
In my country these speakers are not crappy, but great blowout!

I have a set of these speakers on a shelf in my room, tons of mechanical and port noise but are good for party speakers where you don't care if they break.
Jam some insulation into the cab though the ports :P That would at least make them start to sound a little solid :P
i have some polyfill left from packing another sub box, ill see if i remember to do that at some point

I have one Bravia in my house and one in a summer house. The 2005 one sounds like a medium stereo while the 2011 one sounds like a cheap Bluetooth speaker. Sad

Oh man, I have the very same speakers that came with my Sony stereo system MHC-EC55. The speakers really sounded great so, it's too bad that you're not enjoy them! 😥
I have the complete system right here in my bedroom, model number MHC-EC55....have to say that they sound quite good, the best in my house. Definitely have to have Sony's (DSGX) sound enhancements turned on for them to sound good.

I have a pair pretty much exactly like these. I’ve always thought they sounded half way decent. I use them to play games and watch movies and shit. They’ve lasted nearly ten years, so I’m not complaining.
sick excursion brah... they probably have em 6 ohms so they can claim higher wattage on the amplifier. most people into shitty boomboxes and stuff wont notice or care they're measured at 6 rather than 8
its actually the same reason they use 4 ohm speakers in cars and some tabletop systems like this:
its cheaper to build an amp to power a lower resistance speaker. its also cheaper to build a lower resistance speaker. were talking cheaper by like 5%, but they will cut any costs they can. im surprised they made that 5 cent plastic "horn"

I have these on my PC and they are terrible. The amp they give you does some compression to stop you from blowing the speakers up lol. They have 0 bass.

Yeah those boxes are positive pressure ones. The resonance makes the bass more pronounced when it is placed somewhere like at the corner of the room

The extra magnet on the tweeter is to dissipate any magnetic waves from the actual magnet on the tweeter so you don't destroy a computer TV monitor etc (Aka does nothing to the power or sound of the speaker)

I thought it was for audio fidilety purposes, since when it's near Xmax, a little bit of magnet power is lost, so a magnet on the back helps with that

Adding magnets to the back of a speakers motor asembly has a very marginal benefit, with most driver it makes very little audible difference.

I had a set similar to these but quite a bit nicer, blew them by accident with hardly any volume, mine didn't sound half bad for what they were at least.
haha l have those same blue woofers sitting free air on a shelf in my workshop. although my woofers came out of a different set of speakers, but they are the same woofers for sure. for what they are, they are not bad woofers l was thinking about using them a subs for something until they eat it.

I have a newer version of those blue cone Sony speakers and they're pretty good...as tweeters for my 2 15s 2 10s and 8 inch subwaffles
Lots of speakers and amps are rated at 6 ohms or have the ratings for 6 ohms. It's really not that strange to see these days.
