I think is likely that the Rakshasa is powered by a Sangheili mini pinch fusion reactor like those in their combat harness. It made sense considering how much the Swords of Sanghelios are mention in the Rakshasa's lore. Also the Canon Fodder said that the collaboration between the UNSC and the Swords persist in earnest. So I can see Sangheili scientists helping to create the Rakshasa armor.
there was also the Helioskrill armor in halo 5 a mjonir armor made by Sangheili.
And then you have ONI over here screwing with our Sangheili allies like wtf man. They helping us create armor and stuff and ONI is like “what I’d we poison their food supply”
I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't that interested in the Rakshasa armor when we could only view it visually, but the lore explaining the armor and the purpose of the different pieces gave me a new appreciation for its design and it has quickly become one of my favorite types of spartan armor
Fun fact, Rakshasa is a Hindi word, meaning Demon/Monster.
The whole armor core is pure wonder i love it its such a nice armor
It’s 100% possible and on brand that ONI decided the adult volunteer Spartan IV program fell too far short of the original child conscription method. Under the UNSC’s nose, they may have started a new super-soldier program similar to the Spartan II’s but with the added benefit of modern technology. This would theoretically result in a soldier that surpasses even the old SII’s.
That would be awesome, they’ed be pretty much spartan 5s then right?
Or perphaps they are spartan IV version of spartan III headhunters. And therefore prioritizes confortability and lightness for better efficiency at stealth and black ops.I mean the spartans in the cutscenes were basicaly headhunters, they went in pairs deep behind enemy lines and were nicknamed wolfs.
Is it possible for slll to surpass sll’s
So Spartan 3s
@@randomhaloplayer918 I'd say these would be some of the most delusional and brainwashed. Basically bound to ONI as unquestioning war machines.
Before watching, I'm going to say that I guessed it doesn't have a shield outside of gameplay and that it might have a smaller, concealed power pack that powers the undersuit. Combine that with the substantially lighter plating and I figured that a Spartan wearing Rakshasa is probably really, REALLY fast, at the cost of durability.
Can Rakshasa truly be considered MJOLNIR at all, then, or should it be its own category like SPI armor?
I dont know if they would be substantially faster than a Mk7. The mjolnir platform amplifies the wearer's movements so even wearing half a ton of armor they run extremely fast thanks to the actuators in the suit.
@@mortman200 It seems they still have that since the AI was able to move the suit while the spartan was unconscious
Agreed
@Knight of Amour
Well if this is a ultra light armour for speed. What about a heavy programs version to combat high strength opponents such as brutes in power armour and hunters, basically a half mjolnir half Cyclops hybrid.
In Halo Headhunters we see SPI with shielding at an unknown time in the War, albeit experimental, between this time and Halo's Current time period, it isn't unreasonable to think it has become widespread
The Rakshasa armor could also be the result of a Human-Sangheili collaboration. You don't see obvious power packs on Sangheili armor or a port, so maybe the Rakshasa armor uses Sangheili-tech based power packs that are less bulky.
The AKIS II-GRD lore made me shudder when I read it. It reminded me of how Halsey realized her interrogator from the start of Halo 4 wasn't from ONI, but "something else". That man asked her point-blank if sociopathic tendencies would make for a better super-soldier. Was he linked to these non-Spartan augments we've just been informed of?
I always think of this, and wished it was expanded upon.
His question had a LOT of merit.
The more sociopathic the Spartan, the more effective.
Chief is a clear sociopath, despite how hard 343 tries to change that (touching into his humanity).
That is what makes him the best.
He focuses only on the goal…Allie’s be damned lmao
Man, that’s super exciting to ponder
@GaelicCú that’s a valid assessment honestly
@GaelicCú dismiss orders? do you mean disobey orders? is that lore post-343?
@@enochmenor5671 Not so much a dismissal of an order, but the book First Strike has the Chief make the choice between giving an entire combat log and observations to the UNSC. Doing so would have killed Sergent Johnson, as they would have dissected him to learn how to resist the Flood. The Chief chose to give an altered report, sparing Johnson's life. This was pre-343.
Rakshasa really sells the whole grounded Sci-Fi aesthetic that I’ve missed from Halo since maybe Halo 3 that I appreciate 343 making it return
They aren’t. Rakshasa is actually from Halo Reach early concept art. So it’s actually made by bungie.
@@AlgaeEater09 Even better lol
MJOLNIR-ARMOUR/EGYPTIAN-POWER ARMOUR/POWER-ARMOUR-COOLANT-SYSTEM/VENTILATION-SYSTEM
A Egyptian power armour will need small, twin ventilation and coolant system. These will be outfitted near the shoulder [blades] of the wearer/user. They will resemble large, bulky protrusions (like twin backpacks) that system from the shoulder area, as though they were wings. This complex ventilation system is what makes the power armour comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Like the life support system, the ventilation and coolant system will need to be monitored and regulated by an in-built Ai system.
Update (08/03/2022): I wonder if slime-mold [technology] can be utilized to optimise the efficiency of the ventilation system, i.e. to integrate a thin suit-made of living slime mold (if successful, this would also help to minimise weight of the power armour, thus aiding and ensure that energy is spent elsewhere). The slime-mold suit will need to make contact with the wearer/user; where it can conduct heat and other biological waste (such as sweat, and potentially dead blood cells from a bleeding wound) away from the user, and expel it near the air-ducts or any other preferred location.
NOTE: Egyptian power-armour will combine the functionality of a thin space suit (like that seen in "space X's space suit"), a basic medical, life support system and monitors, and finally a knights suit of armour. The suit will electronic, and obviously computerized (assisted by a combination of AI systems). When it action, it will be somewhat fluent, and capable of making fluid action and movement, despite being a robotic suit (LLMs that are dedicated to mimicking natural body moment in fluid motion will comprise the majority of the suit's AI output). Lastly, the suit will need to be water resistant (water resistant spray, that is difficult to chip and wear out after extended usage will be preferred), and its ventilation system will be integrated with a small filtration system. This will make the suit resistant to poison or environments with airborne, hazardous substance.
NOTE: A tough plastic material should be utilised on the exterior of the [Egyptian] power-armour. While being weather resistant and durable, its primary pose will be to give the power armour form (so that it looks futuristic and formidable-further adding to its ability to function as a deterrence), as well as double as additional shock-absorption/shock-dampener. The material will then need to be painted with metallic paint, so as it give it a metallic aesthetic in its composition (deceit/material mimicry).

“Superhuman Stalker, Killers and Assassins”
With the Spartan ops an independent service Oni likely lost the bulk of its wet works division. It makes sense they could have already started a SpartanV program. Of particular interest to them might have been the fact that surviving Spartan II, Spartan III and the potential of Spartan IVs going AWOL.
If that’s not enough in the Block 2 of Mjolnir armor sets were a number of armor types that were stated in the lore break down as being of unknown origin or black market. Generally a black market doesn’t exist without demand. UNSC is supposed to be the only source of Spartans via the three known active generations. So if on the black market you have Spartan IV grade armor sets then the question is for whom are they meant? Spartan IV are relatively new, Spartan III are rare as they often died in suicide missions on mass, Spartan IIs have been dwindled in number by major conflicts for decades but even then had less than a 100 with assuming recovered candidates). It seems unlikely that large numbers of them would be available shopping armor.
This leads to the potential of a Knockoff Spartan. Though Oni likely was able to keep the details of Spartan I and II augmentation under lock and key the larger wider Spartan III and IV programs numbers would have demanded thousands of medical technicians and surgeons trained in the laundry list of augmentation procedures. Any one of those could have left the program and set to operating in the black market either for financial or Ideological reasons. Reverse engineering a Spartan IV set of augmentation then coupling with Blackmarket Mjolnir armor and weapons.
With Spartan ops focusing on “The big picture” threats. Image an ODST or Marine unit deployed to a planet with strong remnant Insurgent sympathies. Suddenly facing off against a squad of Spartan IV class combatants. The asymmetric advantage that would offer. These would generate a “Tiger terror” among the grunts, as any unknown contact sends rookie troops into a panic of Super soldier at the gates. These “Immortals” ( reference to the Persian imperial guard who battled the Spartan 300). Might only be a few hundred but would have a detrimental effect against whole army corps. Even if they were all killed in the AOR the grunts would still be jumping at their shadows.
Such a concept could justify an Oni AntiSpartan Spartan program. Using lessons learned in Spartan II, III and IV.
Potentially starting with a blank slate and using more advanced slower flash clones as the candidates. Augmentation processing from before birth to extend the life of the clone. Using nanotechnology to augment bone, Muscle, flesh and brain. Combine with a superior armor set but kept in very small numbers deployed in the black to hunt any rumbling of a rouge Spartan or other super human threat.
this reminds me of the fantasy rakshasa often found in RPGs like dnd. They are technically fiends/devils that take the form of a humanoid animal, often preferring bipedal tigers. They present themselves as aristocrats, but its a disguise that allows them to infiltrate normal society (cat people aren't uncommon in most RPG settings). They can use magic to alter their appearance, and detect the thoughts of those around them. They use slander, lies, and exposure of secrets to ruin the lives of nobility. When they are at their lowest, the Rakshasa will kill them using claws or magic, and consume their flesh. Some rakshasa prefer to consume their tormented souls. They are secretive and often run criminal empires with multiple safe houses and places to hide. They continue to consume souls/flesh of nobility in an area until they are killed twice. They do a little trolling
@@kaptinkanoodle5039 this somehow feels cannon
I personally think there are more Spartans out there than we think, this is ONI we’re talking about. A wet dream of shadow organizations and conspiracy governments that make real world ones look tame most likely, they would do it. Rehabilitated Washouts from SII, a Class 2 of SII, even to a lesser extent, more Cat-2/headhunter SIII, surviving SIII washouts becoming SIV, Possible SIII Delta Company, heck even SV’s like how Installation00 described in that dedicated video.
I like the fact that Atriox had looked at and studied different Tactical doctrines, including humanity's. Adds more character to the Banished.
I like the lore and the armor itself. But I still want that headhunter SPI platform added to the game.
3 months later, how do you feel now that the SPI platform has been announced for the game?
I am excited to see a proper in game armor set for SPI but with the lack of new content 343 will have a hard time trading me back to the game Total war Warhammer 3 just has so much content... And mods.
Wait till March
Well, do I have news for you
Is it possible that the reference to superhuman stalkers and killers is actually a reference to Spartan IIs? It's not like there is an option to be a Spartan II within multiplayer so the references to Spartans would logically only apply to Spartan IVs and the current Spartan program. In that sense the the equipment might have to have been downgraded to cope with the reality that Spartan IVs are lesser than the IIs.
i guess so.
i hope s4's are only initialy worse and will need mire time to grow into their augmentations, instead of them being weaker period.
well, as long as they have cat3 or even cat2 genes.
@@Chrisspru They are just weaker, mostly because the augmentations for S2s were so much more intensive, since their bodies would grow into them as they got older. S3s also had more intensive augments than the S4s, but were of slightly lower quality than S2s.
I was actually thinking those were references to the headhunters
@@giannicarbonara7342 the spartan 4 augs are refined spartan 3 augs with different delivery methodes (organ replacement instead of in-vivo manipulation). being adults, the effects are lesser as the body dors not grow into it. but similar to previous spartans, they should still get better with age.
spartan 4's also have lesser genetic requirements. a spartan 4 with the genetic makeup to qualify for a spartan 3 or even 2 could after a while gain the physicality of an original spartan, though it may take years in an adult body.
first company spartan 4's are 7 years into their augmentations, and those candidates with cat2 or 3 genes should now have one full cell replacement, making them fully integrated spartans.
fresh s4 augments should be as weak as depicted.
locke has at least cat3 genes (was asked for the s3 program but refused). buck may have them too. its rumored tanaka and vale have cat2 genes, which are the reasons for their prodigy status and being inducted into the spartan branch at all.
Considering the reference was for a helmet that was meant to be in Halo Reach, it’s likely just alluding to Spartan II’s or III’s (since you play as a Spartan III in Reach)
Regarding the "superhuman" reference, I think your second interpretation is correct. Especially with at least one successful attempt by the Insurrection to get one of their members into the S-IV program, ONI would need Spartan Killers. So, it's possible that they are intentionally limiting Spartan equipment and reserving the best tech for these Spartan Killers to give them the edge they need to kill Spartans without being Spartan's themselves.
The second wrist option a reference to Jun and Kat's home world of New Harmony? I have to say I love the rakshasa armor, it fits well with my OC Spartan being a recon specialist with his team. When cross core comes out I will slap one the recon/trailblazer helmet to finish the look.
As a fan of the k5 trilogy it was also nice hearing venezia mentioned too
You have good taste my friend
I’ll put an odst helmet on it
Best Halo UA-camr, didnt take the Splitgate bait
I like how none of those other UA-camrs even mention the fact that the game's population is 60 to 70% Bots and that the developers sneakily try to disguise them as real players and downright refuse to add anything that lets you know you are playing with Bots. Let's not even get into the loot boxes that a lot of these UA-camrs like to downplay
@@mariobadia4553 wait so splitgate got pseudo-Team Fortress 2'd?
The lore makes it clear that Spartan II’s are the most combat efficient and effective soldier assets in the UNSC, surpassing the likes of Spartan III’s and IV’s. Yet the Spartan II’s are few in number and only ever getting older. Humanity barely survived a genocidal war against the covenant, only managing to at the hands of a Spartan II, and since then have only encountered continuous conflict and threat to which again Spartan II’s have been pivotal. From ONI’s point of view it makes cold calculative sense to recreate and one-up the success of the Spartan II project. Maybe they’re even seeking another ‘master chief’ in which case the same formula of child conscription might be employed.
Whether lore implies it or not, I almost guarantee a Spartan V project (if not in the works already) is being considered and tested.
I think the idea of the Insurrectionists developing some sort of Anti-Spartan technology/weapon that's been reverse engineered/downgraded by ONI makes for a much better story than a "Spartan V Program", as it fleshes out the greater world of the Halo Universe by a great deal.
Perhaps there are other specialized augmented humans that aren't necessarily better than Spartans. For example, there could be assassins that specifically get augmentations to boost stuff that'll help em to kill from afar but avoid getting the other ones Spartans would get to fulfill their Spartan duties. Basically hyper specialized augmentations which Spartan probably would not get. Or maybe private organizations have begun making their own augmented private militaries? Or perhaps the tech isn't as classified as we thought? Perhaps the tech has fallen upon the hand of people that really shouldn't have it.
My point is, it doesn't necessarily have to be foreshadowing about a new stronger type of super soldier. It could just mean the augmentation tech is becoming more universal I guess (there's probably a better word). Though yeah it could be foreshadowing. Maybe Spartan 5s are on the horizon?
You mean the augmentations starting to become more accessible?
It’s ONI! Do you really think they don’t have some other super secret squirrel programs. Look at the Bourne movies for example. They cancel one program and they 2, 3, or 4 other programs they’re developing waiting in the wings to get implemented. Would it surprise you for ONI to have say, a Titan program with modified and augmented humans. Maybe clones of the best Spartans like MC, N6, and so on. Or some freaky stuff like combining DNA from a Elite or Brute with that of a human? Honestly, the possibilities are only limited by their and our imaginations. 😎
You're absolutely going to be seeing the commercial market having SPARTAN tech. Private contractors will have scientists who worked on MJOLNIR tech or have inside sources who can help with that and, on top of that, BUCCANEER exists and is literally defined by it's being a "pirated" copy of MJLONIR.
That being said, with SPARTAN-IV's being whoever wants to be one, you will also have former SPARTANs acting as mercenaries and soldiers for hire, certainly with some having access to their armor after service. With IV's, the cat is out of the bag, so having PMC types would make sense.
I think its more along the line of Lone Wolves being an evolution of head hunters. However with the war with the created they needed armor systems that uses less power, has a ruduced chance of being comrpmised by created AI, and could makeshift armor onto it for. I dont know though every time i see the armor it just screams Spartan head hunters to me
Yeah. Stuff like lung capacity, and vision. Then the mind stuff to enhance patience and let them calculate their shots. Make sure they have a steady hand. Then you have a top of the line sniper that Spartans may not be able to take on easily.
I feel that oni might have been working on a spartan replacement especially because they don't have direct control over the spartans anymore
I love that some of the armour wasnt even fully designed by humans, like how there was some Banished stuff, and Kig-yar.
I just realized the Lechuza is literally a Nano-suit from the Crysis series. Go a point where in crisis lore, the suits are so heavily classified that they are designed to purge themselves and the wearer if it determines them to be dead or captured. Which can correspond to the Lechuza’s data being purged.
the GRD helmet description about "superhuman stalkers killers and assassins" makes me initially think of the Gamma IIIs. IIRC many would still be part of ONI rather than being folded into the spartan IV program and would probably have gear that would be tuned specifically to their still classified brain augmentations. so not referring to them as spartans could just be because the Gammas are still highly classififed
I've been well under the impression that the Rakshasa armor was specifically designed to counter Created forces with its low-tech approach. The detuned subsystems in the Akis II helmet could be a decision made to avoid AI detection/exploitation.
Also the cooling Armour/shoulder parts basically hiding any heat emission, since created abused IR sensors and thermal imaging
The power supply could be in the chest armor. The power cables are located there and across the suit. The techsuit is underneath that suit almost like a dual layered system you can see it on the ankles. The m560 plate attachment for Mark 7 states it protects the shield generator in the chest. In a lore tab for Rakshasa it states that they have to scavenge for power cells.
The detuned helmet might have been originally designed specifically for a single Spartan. Some Spartans develop unique traits during augmentations, traits that might require specialized tools to fully utilize.
I love the armor core, but I wish there was at least some level of back armor plating. Hopefully some day 343i will add back attachments to customization. Throwing something like an odst pack on this core would look awesome 👍
I have a thought, maybe the office of Naval intelligence figured out how to stabilize boosters of the human strength that was shown in the midnight on the heart of Midlothian. And thus needing to scale down the power created by those augmentations.
Wow, nice intro. Kinda gonna miss the old one, but this is great too.
As for Rakshasa, I kinda like the unique undersuit it has. I like how it's more like proper military uniform rather than the classic Spartan undersuit. It looks more realistic and comfortable for unaugmented humans to wear. Plus it's a very nice change of pace that works for the nature of the UNSC given how they're now scrounging up/together what ever they can. All in all I like it and I'll be using the core until I complete my Eaglestrike armor core.
After Video Edit: I'm honestly in favor of the idea of reversed engineered Insurrection tech and how thanks to everything going wrong for the UNSC ONI has had to rely on Insurrection tech just to survive and were forced to downgrade and remove stuff so that Spartans can actually use them.
Is it really reverse engineering if they’re from the same civilization
@@deleteddeleted8542 It is if it's from a different faction. Different factions can have different technology, so it indeed is reverse engineering.
My head cannon says that because the Lone Wolves are supposed to be super sneaky stealthy bois that either their shields are for emergencies only and are battery powered or the just straight up don’t have energy shields.
The fact that you get shields in MP is just for gameplay so you don’t get murdered instantly.
Right like id be willing to bet they got some kind of miniaturized rtg that runs the suit and has capacitors topped off for the shields to activate but only as long as the capacitors have juice. Once their drained it’s gonna take a long time before those shields turn back on.
they likely have energy shields, just significantly weaker ones
This helped me realized something that would be cool if we get Punished Locke in dlc or future mp story. Shikari rather closely follows the silhouette of the Hunter helmet which Locke is known for. If they do decide to reintroduce Locke, I can completely see him wearing the Rakshasa armor with maybe some homages to his Gen 2 and likely a prosthetic. This is just some wild speculation on something that probably won’t happen but the thought is worth entertaining in my mind at least
Remember the spi armor in halo waypoint headhunters it had energy shields but was spi armor maybe it’s a variant of that spi suit of armor
The thing that really gets me about the Rakshasa armor core is how absolutely practical it is as well as its lore where the majority of its use is for deep reconnaissance teams. Whereas the Mjolnir Armor cores look like (and are in general confirmed to be) large tasks to put on, take off, and/or repair; the Rakshasa armor core looks several degrees simpler, like a single person could put it on or take it off with little to no assistance. And with the modular separation of several components it seems that removing one for field repair would be relatively simple task to carry out.
While Spartans generally are capable of acting autonomously (and often do), this Armor Core seems purpose built for those that would expect little to no support whatsoever for even longer periods of time that might otherwise take a greater toll on a set like mjolnir which would undoubtedly have a more complex set of maintenance requirements.
Awesome analysis, as always! Another thought I had last night, one which I think ties in rather well with the theories posited in your video, is the idea that the fusion reactors could have been A) refined further to be (somehow) more compact and B) allocated to, and stored within, the arm and leg armor of Rakshasa, with each micro-reactor only powerful enough to provide energy and shielding to the respective limb. (That, and/or a single micro-reactor residing in the frontal chest plate.) In any event, the thoughts you provided here were much more comprehensive than “Very efficiently!” and for that I sincerely thank you.
On a more personal note, thank you so much for looking into this and scratching that lore-itch for me. It was pretty cool to go from having you respond over Twitter to watching your video on the subject in under four days flat. The “for those of us who are particularly astute” line almost felt like a personal nod, and had me feeling pretty special. 😆 Thanks again sir, your video didn’t disappoint.
Thank you for breaking down this armor core, you answered all my questions about the armor in one video
Really appreciate you covering this core! 💖
If ONI made supersoldiers that the Covenant so graciously labeled, as demons, I really want to see the next super human warrior in some itteration of the halo medium
They could be just talking about the spartan IIs. It's pretty heavily implied in-game (and possibly explicitly stated in places) that S-IIs have substantially higher cognitive function than the 4s. If you have a helmet that is primarily used by an S-II hunter, then you would feasibly downgrade it for use in S-4s to avoid wasting resources.
Rakshasa just reminds me honda civic with a spoiler/fins and a stock engine and if you complete the battle pass I can put some nice rims on it.
The Mark 4-7 are like classic and new v8 muscle cars with chief's mark6 gen 3 being the supercharged best version of that.
Yoroi is like an exotic car
And eagle strike is a refurbished hotrod.
My point really is that rakshasa looks the
weakest or cheapest of all the armors by a large margin..
@Michael Mazurczyk its simplicity means that it has worse combat capabilities but much better infiltration capabilities due to being long lasting and easy to maintain, that's the whole point of the armor, it's less capable but better when you are in the frontier due to not requiring a central command structure and its resources to maintain
@Michael Mazurczyk Master chief spends a lot of time on his own but he still almost always has a support network within range. Rakshasa units are intended for really long term (years, maybe decades) infiltration missions with no guarantee that a support network will be anywhere nearby for a while
@Michael Mazurczyk It's the point of the core man. Idk why you are arguing with me I'm literally just explaining to you 343's design philosophy behind the core. Also chief has only been alone for half a year, and it doesn't seem he had the liberty to consider changing armor cores before reaching zeta.
And i'm not saying all spartan ivs are intended to operate alone for years, i'm saying specifically spartans wearing rakshasa armor are likely wearing it because they were sent on a long term infiltration mission, because that core is well suited for that task. If you want an example, they literally included rakshasa spartans dubbed "wolves" in the season 2 story
@Michael Mazurczyk I also think it's stupid how the rakshasa core has no backplating (although the underarmor all spartans use is a type of soft armor so they do technically have back armor not including their energy shields) however I think the overall design makes sense for its purpose apart from that
I also don't think the purpose is to be lightweight, its to be cheap, simple and easy to maintain. Being lightweight is pointless as mjolnir already enhances your movement artificially
@Michael Mazurczyk yeah same
I’m curious how Sangheili say “Shrwssha’wash” without a way to mouth “W” or having an off-English “Sh.”
(Note: the novels have shown a more “logical” rendition of Elite speech, the games have normal speech due to the awkwardness of telling two lips to sound like four mandibles.)
Once again, well done good Sir.
This is what you do and what you do is the best of the best.
Thanks mate. Great content
I really wish all these armor prices actually did something in the game other than being a cosmetic. Imagine if in Reach the different armor pieces actually gave you an advantage in the campaign. It would have made the game interesting. You can change up your gear to engage in different situations.
The concept of an alternative supersoldier (or similar) project is an intriguing one. Divorced from the Spartan project as it exists currently, responsible for deniable wetwork missions, on the payroll for wealthy private individuals/business magnates and the like. In my mind, based on the specific wording of the text description I'm imagining something smaller and more specific than the Spartan project. The most immediate analogue that I am drawn to is the Officio Assassinorum from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Superhuman, enhanced individuals designed and trained to fulfill specific purposes. Incredibly capable within their more narrowed spectrum of operation but also more unstable.
on the topic of the hunterkiller armor, I believe it may have been made to counter rogue Spartans and probably go against Spartan killers and the prophet super soldiers, or ONI is kidnapping children again.
Given that this particular armor system makes multiple mentions of joint operations with the Swords of Sanghelios, I feel like it either uses a battery like SPI or uses a miniature pinch reactor like Combat Harnesses do.
For the implications of oni's superhuman assassins using I think something like the vindicare assassins from warhammer 40k are what's intended.
Heavily augmented and indoctrinated super soldiers so specialized into sniper assassinations that they can sit for months in waiting for the perfect shot.
At 18:00
I suspect that the superhuman stalkers, killers, and assassins are a continuance of the original Spartan II program, using washouts and new conscripts to maintain the black operations the Spartans were originally meant to fulfill.
I just wish it had a backplate, It's just seems like such a huge weakness, I know it's supposed to be minimal armor style but still just have something back there
I must say I definitely missed the Superintendent overlays. If we could get a rerun of the "Go Rest Your Brain" gear that would be amazing.
I hope we get a video covering the fractures stuff, at the very least the eaglestrike core. I love the worldbuilding of the descriptions of the armor pieces, it combines halo with steampunk, atomic technologies, WWI, retro sci-fi, etc. which is really interesting
regarding the AKIS II-GRD helmet, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that ONI has created their own little branch of augmented assassins to serve ONI exclusively. We have to remember that Spartans no longer work directly or exclusively to ONI, they are their own branch of service now. So ONI might have taken all the data on previous generations of Spartan Programs and cobbled together their own black ops division made up of augment killers and assassins.
Hey someone picked up my question :v
Yeah rakshaka dont have visible power pack is pretty weird. Tucked in the chest plate i guess?
Though its gonna be hella hot without the power pack giving the gel layer the energy it need for enhancement and thermal regulation plus various function.
UA/TYPE PTL - "emergency close range incendiary attacks" on knee armor? Sounds like a Falcon kick to me
Would love to hear what 343 was thinking when they wrote that one up lol
If it ever happens at 1 million most detailed breakdown of installation 00 the lesser ark
Another fantastic video I love them more informative documentary form your videos take and this was just fun to watch and learn about
The part with the shiwashiwash had me ROFL so hard, i almost dropped some dishes during dish washing.
Nice one! 😂
Wow seeing that title is giving me Far Cry 4 memories, need to do my annual playthrough
This armor is so cool. So much potential
Awesome vid as always 00, glad to see you firing on all cylinders again mate!
When I saw the cutscene for this season, I thought the Rakshasa core was an upgrade on the old SPI armour, because it looked very similar to the HEADHUNTER gear worn by Roland and Jonah.
Also the mentions of the created made me think that this is a suit they cobbled together during that war for their ‘low priority’ fireteams. Blue team and the others get the best while others get what their given so to speak, then they use teams in Rakshasa like Spartan 3’s, trading lives for time and prioritising guerrilla tactics
The AKIS helmet made me think there are SPARTAN killers out there, ONI are very shady and might realise that the increase in SPARTANs means they need a means of ‘controlling’ this new branch, or the surviving 2’s & 3’s. Or if an AI was to take control of the GEN1/2 suits they had something on standby
Either way the lore given to us from this has got me excited for the lore
I gather that it's likely that superhuman hunters, killers and assassins are going to be a part of a class segmentation to which the spartan will likely be a balanced base model of. Probably will have particular specializations like assassins will be tuned for speed-based augmentations and features, hunters for sensory-based things like increased accuracy and perceived damage due to hit placement from, and killers will be increased strength-based or combat-based things like maybe increased damage from melee. The fact that the Spartans are an included segment of the actual military and thus referred to typically as supersoldier but generally considered a superhuman may preclude that these other "class" types are not included in the actual supersoldier program...probably exterior [private] contractors that were inducted to superhuman status by using the Spartan IV procedures and thus labeling is a matter of semantics. Just my opinions and thoughts.
The helmet that stalked might be used to find info about the Spartan history unfiltered. Could be a security issue.
There might be a more compact fusion reactor, possibly in the thigh or chest armor seeing that those bulkiest part of the armor.
Spartans is now a separate service branch in 343i lore, and so I parsed the bit of lore referencing "other superhumans" as being designed for something like classified ops under ONI Beta-5, run outside the regular Spartans branch. Any too-specific tech features or gadgets that went into specialized armor for Beta-5 would have to be scrubbed or else it could hint at the nature of the missions it was designed for.
what i appreciate is that rakshasa also references modifications for anti created actions
What I find really interesting is the description for the Blood Shadow armor coating. It makes me think that it was designed to copy the color of the Silent Shadow forces from the old Covenant hegemony
THANK YOU! THIS WAS BOTHERING ME SO MUCH!
Why is this so cool to listen to lmao, nice video!
So I think it doesn’t necessarily mean that the superhuman assassins were more powerful it would instead mean that either the Spartans weren’t allowed to use that tech or they just didn’t need the assistance like the other superhumans.
Interesting stuff. I didn't like that the rakshasa didn't have fusion packs. But now that you pointed out they could be like the SPI armor I kinda like it better
If you think the ramshackle look of Rakshasa looks odd just remember S2s and 3s literally duct taped extra magazines and grenades to their armor
I think humanity is reaching a point where Spartans are no longer the sole apex predator of military combat efficiency. I think with so many notes about super human assassins and such, private companies are starting to try and make their own versions of the ONI program. Especially since they're declassified now, they can be studied more easily than before. Sure ONI isn't giving data away to anyone who wants it, but at least seeing footage of them in action and such and having their presence documented does make it easier than studying the barest glances of what the government says is nothing.
I think that would also be an interesting thing to see going forward.
Halo to me feels like it's reaching a point where I'd like to see it grow out more factions. Greater humanity like the UNSC and ONI, a reborn Covenant like Jul 'Mdama had, the Banished, the Flood, the Created, and then perhaps one more group. Could be the Endless, could be humans breaking away on their own like Insurrectionists that finally start to catch up through private companies making their own super soldier programs. Tell stories about these groups each vying for control of the galaxy in their own ways and the heroes and villains that rise in each one.
The grd description gives me Offico Assassinorum feels
A forerunner spartan armor would be badass
Prefect from Halo 4.
I like the Rakshasa armor because of it’s lore and it looks amazing. But two thing did bother me was the lack of armor on the back and the Energy shield but after watching your video it made me think it has thin layer of armor to protect electronics and possibly the power cells to Power the energy shield but there isn’t enough information to be sure but for all we know he could have multiple power cells inside the armor arms legs or chest but I won’t know for sure until 343 releases that information.
I personally think it's very cool to look into a new type of Spartan generation, that are zephyr-oriented and ferally strong.
I think the Akis II-GRID Helmet is a downgrade of the newly unveiled Executioner helmet from the Chimera armor. Fits the description.
I feel the second interpretation of the superhuman killers, stalkers and assassins is more exciting, though the wording is strange. If ONI felt that the separation of the Spartan Branch into its own military institution outside of direct ONI control was a potential danger for the UNSC, it would make perfect sense for them to create spec ops unit specifically designed, trained and equipped to take down Spartans and augmented targets. Operatives would likely have equipment that gave them tactical advantages over their quarry, hence features had to be stripped for Spartan usage to prevent them from knowing that ONI would try and put them down in the case of a Spartan stepping out of line.
great theory!
although there is one small hole, if the spartan hunters need to be controlled then oni are going to need to make spartan hunter hunters and etc. however it's also possible that oni aren't considering this as after all they are a bureaucratic organization run by humans and humans make many flaws.
Hi 00! Thanks for the breakdown and speculation, I enjoyed it thoroughly!
I was thinking about the implications you drew from the de-tuned helmet and superhuman assassins. Personally, my mind went to the Headhunters program and the idea of black ops Spartans.
Since the creation of Spartan Branch as a separate entity, it makes sense to my mind that ONI would have continued their personalized development in house and tried to maintain a cadre of Spartans under their direct control. However, to maintain secrecy, they are keeping the full capabilities and extent of their developments out of the hands of rank and file, a weird concept where superhuman soldiers are concerned, Spartans.
A real world analogy would be the difference between the quality and advancement of kit and support between the US Army Rangers, a somewhat elite and specialist component of the US Army, and their more secretive and elite counterparts in Delta Force.
The idea of a new generation of Spartans is certainly tantalizing and I definitely understand reading it that way, but this is where my mind went. Thanks for your time and effort!
My only gripe about this armor core is the lack of anything on back I personally would have put a partially armored back plate with a encased battery pack similar to the phase 1/2 clone armor just to balance out the proportions a bit but that's really it I still love this style armor in halo
Another excellent video
First awesome video. The line about superhuman hunters, killers and assassins opens up a lot of possibilities.
The only conclusion I can come to is the same you did; there must be some highly classified super soldiers that are even better than Spartans...👀
When you are able to mix and match armor pieces comes to Infinite, I wanna try to mix Odst with the Rakshasa underarmor/armor. A lone Odst who lost his squad
Ok, 2 things.
1: The Shrwssha'wash moment was absolutely beautiful 😂.
2: You'll probably be happy to hear my mum asked if the voice speaking in this video was Andy Serkis. 😂
I think its somewhere in between the akis ii is likely for specially augmented and trained individuals tasked hunting other enhanced humans or other similarly difficult/dangerous targets
This armor core makes me think of the SPI armor used by Spartan 3's. Which wasn't as powerful as Mjolnir Armor, but far cheaper to arm Spartan 3 Headhunters with.
Love your work
I like the ullur because it’s the halo reach jun concept helmet
There's a Halo kid's novel that introduced the idea of Spartan IV.5s existing through other methods prior to the prototype Spartan IV program. And it happened to be under ONI jurisdiction. 🤔
My headcanon is that the power supply is in/behind the chest piece.
As much as I do like this core without the noticeable dual fusion pack that protrude from the back of mjolnir it just feels bare, maybe have the fusion packs but have the plating either removed, damaged, or have the plating skeletonized to match the rakshasa jury-rigged appearance.
SHRWSSHA'WASH
Loved that bit. Love the channel, and your passion.
Another great video! I'm just here trying to say Shrwasha'wash..🤨🤔
I imagine that the new GRD helmet wasn’t downgraded because of the type of Spartan using it but rather than the clearance level of the Spartans using it. We know from the past that ONI has its own Spartans under its command, at least Black Team, and at one point Noble Six had been called an ONI executive’s “Personal Grim Reaper”. I think the new GRD was built for ONI Spartan Headhunters, and they removed stuff from it to give to other Spartans who just didn’t have the clearance level for some of the top secret stuff ONI was giving those Headhunters.
I thought the things on the shoulder blades have a another feature where you have booster like the thumbnail on installation 00's project mjolnir please explain this to me
Did anyone watch the Machinima series Dawn of the Titans? its was a fanfic about a classified group of soldiers that were augmented beyond the superhuman limits of even Spartans codenamed Titans. the Akis description just reminded me of them.
Could it be possible that there is a power source inside the chest plate similar to Mirage IIC?
For the armor that mentions super human killers I wonder if they’re like warhammer 40k’s eversor assassins. Super humans that have been modified and drugged up so heavily that while they’re stronger than Spartans they don’t have the sanity nor a stable enough body to be used as a soldier on the front lines. They’re just kept in stasis till they have a new high value target and are just released into the area to rampage burning their life away as they do with only the orders to kill and a face filling their thoughts.
Hoping for a take on eaglestrike, and thoughts on if its lore friendly!
Maybe it’s made for the 4.0’s? The Spartans who went insane but could match IV’s in armor when in fatigues.
when they added the core and the thing said for super human whatever i assumed it was for the Head Hunters
12:42 That art style... That's gotta be Geoff Herndon [Tekka Croe].
