@@HCKRBRO Not quite. he also compared the figures. The eagle and the Ent are actually relevant to the Orthanc set as they are to movie scenes involving that tower
Feels odd that you skipped the presence of an eagle and Treebeard from Orthanc, i feel that is super important to both the figures and the play features comparisons
@@danwolf6307 exactly! Thats like saying you’re not going to count Smaug the dragon from the Hobbit “Lonely Mountain” set because it’s not a minifigure
I mean as far as movie scale goes, I for one was disappointed it wasn't actually 4,500 ft tall containing 8.8 billion Lego pieces with 56.8 million bags to work through. Shame..
@@gdtyphon Not if you buy a fake one, or brick link the pieces ;) And I mean Lego isn't even losing any money if you do that, because they aren't selling it. The only people losing out are the resellers who only bought it so they could sell it for 5x the price down the line.
Love the teaser at the end. I also just ordered my copy of barad dur. I have a question: Would it be really expensive to just buy the pieces to build the exterior of orthanc. None of the figs or special pronts should make it cheaper no?
That's a great question and i'll cover it in an upcoming video. I was able to buy all the parts for Orthanc (No minifigs, treebeard, or special parts) for a little over $200
4:28 Actually, Barad-Dûr in the films stands at 5,000 feet tall. To put Barad-Dûr in scale with the Tower of Orthanc, Barad-Dûr would have to be 8.8x bigger than the official Icons Barad-Dûr set.
This is really cool, but Barad-Dur and Orthanc being the eponymous two towers is kinda from the sensalization of the movie. According to a Tolkien letter, the two towers are actually Minas Tirith and Minas Morgul
Shame that Orthanc is legit. Palantir is pink rather than the cool green/black swirls. Grima is not himself, Saruman has a cool robe skirt that matches his shirt, Uruk has a white hand on helm and plain coloured chest armour, the orc pictured is a Gundabad Orc from the Hobbit. It also has a nice eagle and one of my favourite characters... Treebeard 😢
The Orthanc Minifigures you have are not accurate. Saruman has a robe and not legs. The Grima torso is not correct. The Uruk-hai should be a white hand. You don’t have Treebeard or the Eagle if you want to compare the full sets. Good first video.
THE MINIFIGURES FOR ORTHANC ARE COMPLETELY WRONG!!! (I would know, I have the set.) Saruman comes with a special printed robe piece. Gandalf- yeah gandalf is correct. Grima wormtongue has a different skin colour, and a completely different face and torso print. The orc is COMPLETELY inaccurate, it's supposed to be dark tan and have more spiky armour, not bones??? The Uruk Hai has HELMET PRINTING and a SHIELD, both having the White Hand of Saruman on them! You also didn't include the super cool Eagle and Treebeard, the Ent, included in the set. I'm guessing you didn't want to spend too much money on this, so you just went and bought the tower and kind of puzzled together other minfigures for it. This wouldn't be surprising, as Saruman is 80$ and Grima Wormtongue is 130$. I also find it really funny how you replaced the Palantir because the actual piece is about 90$
You missed that Orthanc comes with an eagle and a brick built Ent
Maybe they just wanted to compare the towers
@@HCKRBRO Not quite. he also compared the figures. The eagle and the Ent are actually relevant to the Orthanc set as they are to movie scenes involving that tower
Big miss on the comparison there. Ent and eagle add a lot of value to the set
It also comes with an Mordor Orc instead of a Gundabad Orc from the Hobbit Series
Barad durs minifigs are better anyways
Dude love those sets!
Who is this guy 🤔🤔 he probably likes nexo knights

I was disappointed it didn’t come with an army of tens of thousands of orc minifigs
Build em, break em, stick em in a stew
Aw thanks, this is something I wanted to compare for a while now, so yippee
Dude what happened to your grima wormtongue 😂 that’s not the right fig lol
Yeah! He's a custom fig. The actual fig's worth was greater than the value of the whole Shire.
Barad-Dur is a really cool set with a lot of awesome details!
Man seeing the two side by side really makes orthanc look like a bargain. The high is surprisingly close.
Orthanc is now about 900$! It's an old and desirable set.
