    I'm not sure if this is necessary for you, but it might be useful for someone else. My idea is to insert small PVC pipe sections into the mold at relevant intervals to create holes for running barbed wires. The PVC sections can be removed and reused before the concrete fully cures.

    • @bensterfarm
      @bensterfarm  3 місяці тому +9

      Thank you Mburked for the advise. I preferred to leave the holes, reason being, ill be using binding wire hence not necessary to do the hole. Sometime they weaken the post.

    That's good idea, but the composite should also include lime or liquid bond, and the size of the bars are a bit large, they can capture moisture and burst the concrete as the rust builds up. Whereas tiny steel bars of a straw size can not overwhelme concrete even if the moisture is retained, it can easily be absorbed by concrete. This is science

      @@bensterfarm here's another one i hope you will like, lay wheelbarrow on its side with something under it to lift it up a bit, place a bit of ply in it, proceed to shovel as much sand [whatever] as you want, then you stand on the top leg grip the side with both hands and swing your weight backwards to right the barrow you only need to put something under barrow when your mound of whatever is depleted.i have done it this way for years now ,it is faster and easier, i hope you were able to understand this, i shake my head when i see people doing it the ''normal'' way on the tv. works well with heavy rocks also ,just roll it in , no lifting. best wishes.

    The rebar is too close to the side of the wall in the bend section, it will increase corrosion over time. Other than that looks great

    Instead of iron bars. What if tensioned polypropelene plastic (PP) ropes where inserted in the frame. Will this still work and not compromise the integrity of the pilars?
    Any one with a good experience to help a nosy fella

      Hahaha you are not a noisy fella.
      Using tensioned polypropylene (PP) ropes instead of iron bars (rebar) in a structural frame is unconventional and could significantly compromise the integrity of the pillars and overall structure. Here's why:
      1. Material Properties:
      Strength: Iron bars (rebar) are used in concrete for their high tensile strength, which helps the concrete resist tension forces. Polypropylene ropes, while strong for their intended applications, have a much lower tensile strength compared to steel.
      Elasticity: Steel has low elasticity, meaning it can maintain its shape and strength under significant stress. Polypropylene ropes, on the other hand, are much more elastic, which means they would stretch under load, potentially leading to structural failure.
      Durability: Steel rebar is designed to last as long as the concrete structure itself. Polypropylene ropes are susceptible to degradation over time, especially under UV exposure, chemical attack, or environmental stress, which would reduce the lifespan of the structure.
      2. Structural Integrity:
      Load Bearing: The primary function of rebar in reinforced concrete is to bear tensile loads that concrete cannot handle on its own. Without proper tensile reinforcement, concrete structures can crack and fail under tension.
      Bonding with Concrete: Steel rebar bonds well with concrete, creating a composite material that can handle both compression (by concrete) and tension (by rebar). Polypropylene ropes do not bond with concrete in the same way, which could result in a loss of structural cohesion.
      3. Engineering Standards:
      Code Compliance: Building codes and engineering standards are based on the use of materials like steel rebar for a reason. Substituting rebar with polypropylene ropes would likely violate these codes and could result in unsafe structures.
      4. Practical Considerations:
      Installation: Proper tensioning and anchoring of polypropylene ropes in a concrete structure would be challenging and might not provide the same level of stability and safety as steel rebar.
      Cost vs. Benefit: While polypropylene ropes might be less expensive, the risks associated with their use in place of steel rebar far outweigh any potential cost savings.
      Conclusion:
      Substituting tensioned polypropylene ropes for iron bars in a structural frame is not recommended as it would likely compromise the integrity of the pillars and the overall safety of the structure. Steel rebar is used in reinforced concrete for its specific properties that polypropylene ropes cannot match. If you're considering alternative materials, it's essential to consult with a structural engineer who can ensure that any changes meet safety standards and structural requirements.

    Why are you making one other time when you can make 10 other times. Just make the mould bigger instead of one size. We Africans have the idea but we need to increase the production.

    • @bensterfarm
      @bensterfarm  2 місяці тому

      That's a great suggestion, Abdirah. I'll pass it on to those involved in commercializing this, suggesting they consider using a mold with multiple outputs to increase production efficiency.
