    Hey Kyle! Just wanted you to know that I enjoyed this video. Especially your random stories while sifting through her stamps. I’m waiting for you to put out a cooking video next lol. Never apologize for who you are or what you might inadvertently say, you’re quite unique and we do appreciate you. ~ Donna

    Really nice of you doing this👍. I enjoy your videos and I hope you keep doing these. This is also one way to see individual stamps and when they pop up in my own buyings or collection it's easier to notice them.

    As for the notary- San Joaquin County is in California. Old notaries had a tool that had two round discs. When you put as piece of paper between the discs and squeezed it left the notary seal impression. I believe that the red star shaped object was already on the document. So what you have is basically like a cut square. As an old time collector I can tell you that it will take a long time. I collect worldwide mint only up to 1970. It has been 35 years and I am finally getting to the end of the alphabet! 1970 is a good point to stop as it was in the 1970 that many countries started issuing masses upon masses of junk stamps. You have some in the late 60's with the Sand Dunes but not that much so they are tolerable.

      Makes sense on the notary seal. I definitely like older material for sure!

    Nice, realistic stuff my Yankee friend!! Cheers from Brizvegas Qld, Ozstralia. keep up your superb work!!! Cheers j// ........P.S on Australian stamps look for 'older, late 1960s to 1990s, in values from about the 40c to $1.20 range. The best ones in this era are for the international postage rates to places other than Great Britain and Europe......... Pacific, Nth America and other world rates are harder to find. Postage has gone up so much lately that a domestic stamp is now $1.10 in Oz so, basically forget this rule for later stamps. Australia also issues 'International Postage Stamps' for the last 20 odd years, these are also quite collectable!!

    Looks like that 3.50 stamp at 35:13 was cancelled on 9/11/01 but it could be 9/17. It’d be a cool piece to add for someone who collects 9/11 commemoratives

    What an amazing notarial seal! In the centre is a reproduction of the Great Seal of California, Minerva overlooking the San Francisco Bay. It belonged to Albert Gallatin Brown, of Stockton, who received a notarial commission from 14 November 1855 and was active in the same town until his death in 1884. I wish that I could date it more precisely. This seal would be bonded to and then embossed upon legal documents requiring authentication - deeds, indentures, affidavits, marriage licences. Or, being early California, one could be romantic and imagine it from a mining claim! I collect the revenues of the Pacific coast, and these seals are often found alongside splendid late-dated imperforate and part-perforate US federal revenue stamps. At times, you will encounter similar star cuts on California's state revenue stamps themselves, quite stunning to behold and tremendously scarce. I could not hazard as to value, with the strong preference in the market being for entire documents, but would make a splendid piece of collateral for any collection formed of the Central Valley.

      Pretty cool stuff indeed. This one sure seems like it's just a sticker though. I would love to see an original seal of this sort!

      Hi Laurence, I am always looking for anything of value of course. That is only part of the fun in stamp collecting for me. I have no expectations to get rich searching through random bundles. This video specifically is a collection someone requested I attempt to value for them so I am throwing the word "value" around a lot.

    Please stop!!! At the 27 minute mark you are laughing at the women's collection. AFTER you said how nice it was for her to send it to you at her cost of $25. Rude and unprofessional of you. Plus, your cherry picking the collection. Stop please!!!!!

    • @KylesStamps
      @KylesStamps  Рік тому +2

      Wow Jeffrey, you have got to be kidding me. None of this is so serious? It is not her personal collection, a friend gave it to her just to sell. She already knows the material at the top wasn't the best. She's an adult and isn't going to have her feelings hurt from a gentle laugh. You are being way too critical. No, I am not a professional for one thing and I am doing this for her for free. If I don't buy it then I will spend the same in postage to send it back to her... Also, I am valuing the collection so I am setting aside anything that may be better material so I can tally it up when I'm done sorting. You make it sound like I am stealing from her which is ridiculous. Come on now....
