Wait.. there is a huge flaw with this. While in the dock the switch needs the back part of the dock open for ventilation. That part is completely covered by foam. This could cause the dock/switch to overheat under prolonged use.
my switch fan broke during normal use, i cant imagine how quickly this thing would brick the switch. why does nobody know that the fan intake is on the back?

And I’d play games with the passenger if someone pulled this out lol. That’s just me, some other flight attendants may or may not think it’s safe to pull it out.

Cases like this were actually common on navy ships while I was in (2011-2017). If you had racktricity (an outlet by your rack aka bed), you could play games in bed in your down time.

Honestly, this is something I can see an exact, everyday use for: At my old college, we liked to play smash. We didn't exactly have a free TV in the student center, but there was one mad lad who brought one pretty much every day. This case would have been so much more convenient. He can just put his controller back, maybe unplug his GC adapter, and head on out. I helped him with it once or twice, and it really was cumbersome to do with everything separate. I personally had a really janky setup where I used a USB to USBC adapter to connect GC controllers in handheld mode, and a stand to hold the switch (Yes I know there's accessories that do it all in one. I happened to already have all these parts), but that still leaves you with a small screen. Its only really viable for 2 people at most. So, for work, school, or just anywhere you intend to play often but don't feel safe leaving hundreds of dollars worth of stuff, this would be pretty convenient, if still a bit extra.

I customized my joycon grips with black and white floral and grass print contact paper. I did the same with my dock (taped on for easy removal if I ever want/need to change it) so it all matches now and is pretty cute! Ive found that the contact paper will come off easily without any damage to the grip, just a bit sticky. The hardest part is cutting the paper to the right size and shape.
I got a Smatree hardshell case for my switch, inner foam has slots for the switch with controllers attaches, a removable piece for the clear shell you can put on the switch, the dock, two holes for the joycon rails, and a slot for the joycon controller dock(without the joycons in it). it also features a zippered pocket in the lid where you can put any number of things that aren't too big, and a flap that can hold up to 21 physical gamecards. It didn't cost me too much but I definitely am enjoying it because I really don't like my equipment dropping when not in use on the go, and it certainly gives peace of mind
Perfect for military that’s always on the move from either changing units/barracks or going on deployment. Also great for people that travel via plane or cruise. Since lots of extra controllers and switches fit in there. Would perfect to play with friends or family on the go. Excessive, yes; worth it, kinda for those that fit the criteria above.

So when I was in the military, I something extremely similar to this but it was universal for the xbox and playstation. It also had a 17in screen built into it. It was fantastic for being able to game in the barracks while at the same time being able to easily store it away for barracks inspection. Plus with all the moving around you do in the military, you can always game on the go. At the time I had a PS4 set up in the case that I had.

While working in pediatric oncology some patients had something like this for a PS4 system to use in bed since the TV was far away and in inpatient (sometimes for a long stay). I would go and play sometimes and it's pretty practical since it just sits on the bed and they could bring it to where they were staying too if they lived out of state.
This reminds me of Seto Kaiba carrying around a briefcase with thousands of cards and a hologram system everywhere he goes so he's always ready to play the only game he plays with the only deck he uses
That case blocks the vents of both the dock and the console. The fan that pushes the air out is either covered by the strap or just the horizontal position doesn't allow to properly put out the heat. Try to touch the console while gaming like that, you are gonna notice
My brother and I had one of these for the 360 back in the day. We'd fly with them too, because at one point we lived across the country from my dad so we flew a lot.
Yeah, customized with a big battery to truly play on the go... That would be brilliant. Go the extra mile to have a mobile hotspot hooked up to the dock via Ethernet and you'd have yourself the ultimate portable Switch experience I wonder how it does when it comes down to ventilation and keeping the Switch cool. Looks like it would block some of the ventilation
You can also use the Nintendo Switch tablet lying straight down with a specific cable. The television does not even need cable to be make it work. Additionally you need a portable power bank also as well, fully charged before using it to avoid it running out of battery. One that lasts a long time without running out of battery within an hour and thirty minutes preferably. I used a small sized television with a turn table to keep it stable though, something you might not have.
Pokemon International apparently made slim pokeball sized chargers back in 2016. If they made a premier ball one, they cannot sell it in America at all, due to the policies surrounding it. I triple checked it to confirm that it only has enough battery in it to only be usable for a total amount of time of 1 hour and 30 minutes before it runs out of battery, at least for the pokeball one that we own, somehow.
They used the information that was available to them at the time of making the product. That means you have to selective of what charging cables that you use with it. Type C charging cables did not exist back then, so it is not compatible with it, at least not directly.
I used to have a metal case for my PlayStation 2 for when I would travel from Florida to South Carolina for the summer break from school to go see my grandparents, I rigged up a screen to the top of the case but it had to be on the outside because the inside of the lid was where you stored the games and cases. And then the body had cutouts for 2 controllers, the wires and plugs and boom. It worked. But other than that my family had a portable DVD player with RCA’s I would plug into and hang the screen on the headrest of the front seats, it worked out perfectly. When traveling something like this is ideal especially with kids or for your adult self if you’re stopping to camp or something lol
I've seen handlers toss cases 30' up to another handler who misses catching the case, watches it fall back down the 30' to the ground and bounce, then tell the other guy to throw it back up to him again...I don't check ANYTHING that can take damage.
They make these for pretty much every console, they're relatively useful for people who live on the road, such as truck drivers, seems excessive if you go home or to a hotel every night, but if you want to play on a bigger screen, (or in the case of other consoles, play at all) some truckers have a TV in their truck, but there's not really a way to put a TV away to save space.
This is GREAT for a road trip. seriously. When we were younger we would take a really small (sort of flat but not as flat as they are today) flat screen with us and we had a converter and the small PS2. That was out setup. We literally had a screen in our laps. We did have portable DVD players but the screen on that was kind of small for split-screen. Is it practical all the time for everyone? No. But it’s pretty awesome. I also think in a hotel you could have this on a table and play split screen comfortable if you’re close enough. It’s certainly bigger than the console screen. I can also see this being great at university because you can set up a play session almost anywhere that you have an outlet.
I got case from Harbor Freight, that I custom cut the foam. Although it doesn't have a built in screen, it cost me less then $60. Holds Switch w/joycons, 4 pro controllers, dock, power brick, HDMI cable, 2 USB c cords, 2 joycons rails and 8 games. It's super handy for travel and overly protective. I got a short video on it. "Ultimate Switch Case"
I think even though the switch is portable you may still want to look at a bigger screen while you play it and that case gives you that if you want to play on a larger screen and if you go on vacation and don't want to mess with hooking it up to a hotel TV to play the system! Also you can only play the system in handheld mode for a few hours so if the battery gets low you may want to dock it and continue playing it on the TV that is in that case!
My first thought was seeing how sturdy it is was using it for military transport, when my husband went overseas they had to pack up his room and his PlayStation got trashed even though we put it back in the original packaging and labeled it a hundred times
Caseclub makes some awesome stuff. They actually make one for basically every major console out right now. PS5, Series x and the previous gen consoles. With the new consoles you can even get them with 4k monitors. Honestly though, the switch one seems to be the best yet.
I have a vanguard that I cut foam to hold my switch , 2 pro controllers , head phones , and I love it. The screen is 1080. And yes I have a plug outlet for my car also.
Its actually perfect if you want to play with someone while on the road, in train or simply on vacation and you want to play with someone but you won't be carrying separate screen say, when in the mountains or at the beach. But this will let you do it, without the inconvenience of small screen (for 2+ people). And like you said it's heavy enough to be steady while someone is driving. I would also say that some pickpokets will notice you play on switch and might want to steal it from you later, but when they see you have your case open (looking in on your front, not from your back), then they would think you are just doing something with your luggage. Not to mention it's hard to steal something big and heavy. Personally i would love to have it and be able to spend half an hour playing games on my switch while in the train, going to work every day, but i don't want to play on the switch "in the open view". I only once played with my switch on the train and i was in the corner and my switch was inside my backpack, so it was quite inconvenient for me. This thing seems awsome, though i don't need so many slots for controlers. For me a case for docked switch, with charger and 2 controlers MAYBE with room for 2nd switch would be enough. That is to say it's too big for me (and too expensive) but i bet many people will find it useful.
You can actually plug in headphones while the switch is docked and it will work that way! *although I dont know if it'll stop the sound coming through the screen but you should just be able to lower the screen's sound separately from the switch

I’m a truck driver. I have one of these cases for the ps5, Xbox series X, and switch. They come in so clutch. Stay sturdy in the rig too

I would love if Wood could do a review on this end for some reason because of the squid game hype I can just imagine a Nintendo version of squid game where a guy literally just pulls up to you with this and says if you beat him in a smash match will give you $100 each win.🤣😂🤣😂
So when I was in the military, I something extremely similar to this but it was universal for the xbox and playstation. It also had a 17in screen built into it. It was fantastic for being able to game in the barracks while at the same time being able to easily store it away for barracks inspection. Plus with all the moving around you do in the military, you can always game on the go. At the time I had a PS4 set up in the case that I had.
Props on the weight loss by the way. As a health care professional I highly endorse it.
I love the little slots on the side for the game chips, that's a nice feature

While working in pediatric oncology some patients had something like this for a PS4 system to use in bed since the TV was far away and in inpatient (sometimes for a long stay). I would go and play sometimes and it's pretty practical since it just sits on the bed and they could bring it to where they were staying too if they lived out of state.

That case blocks the vents of both the dock and the console. The fan that pushes the air out is either covered by the strap or just the horizontal position doesn't allow to properly put out the heat. Try to touch the console while gaming like that, you are gonna notice
My brother and I had one of these for the 360 back in the day. We'd fly with them too, because at one point we lived across the country from my dad so we flew a lot.

Yeah, customized with a big battery to truly play on the go... That would be brilliant. Go the extra mile to have a mobile hotspot hooked up to the dock via Ethernet and you'd have yourself the ultimate portable Switch experience
I wonder how it does when it comes down to ventilation and keeping the Switch cool. Looks like it would block some of the ventilation

You can also use the Nintendo Switch tablet lying straight down with a specific cable. The television does not even need cable to be make it work. Additionally you need a portable power bank also as well, fully charged before using it to avoid it running out of battery. One that lasts a long time without running out of battery within an hour and thirty minutes preferably. I used a small sized television with a turn table to keep it stable though, something you might not have.
Pokemon International apparently made slim pokeball sized chargers back in 2016. If they made a premier ball one, they cannot sell it in America at all, due to the policies surrounding it. I triple checked it to confirm that it only has enough battery in it to only be usable for a total amount of time of 1 hour and 30 minutes before it runs out of battery, at least for the pokeball one that we own, somehow.
They used the information that was available to them at the time of making the product. That means you have to selective of what charging cables that you use with it. Type C charging cables did not exist back then, so it is not compatible with it, at least not directly.

I used to have a metal case for my PlayStation 2 for when I would travel from Florida to South Carolina for the summer break from school to go see my grandparents, I rigged up a screen to the top of the case but it had to be on the outside because the inside of the lid was where you stored the games and cases. And then the body had cutouts for 2 controllers, the wires and plugs and boom. It worked. But other than that my family had a portable DVD player with RCA’s I would plug into and hang the screen on the headrest of the front seats, it worked out perfectly. When traveling something like this is ideal especially with kids or for your adult self if you’re stopping to camp or something lol
I've seen handlers toss cases 30' up to another handler who misses catching the case, watches it fall back down the 30' to the ground and bounce, then tell the other guy to throw it back up to him again...I don't check ANYTHING that can take damage.

You could stuff it with paper to test its waterproofing, if all the paper remains dry then it has good waterproofing
They make these for pretty much every console, they're relatively useful for people who live on the road, such as truck drivers, seems excessive if you go home or to a hotel every night, but if you want to play on a bigger screen, (or in the case of other consoles, play at all) some truckers have a TV in their truck, but there's not really a way to put a TV away to save space.
This is GREAT for a road trip. seriously. When we were younger we would take a really small (sort of flat but not as flat as they are today) flat screen with us and we had a converter and the small PS2. That was out setup. We literally had a screen in our laps. We did have portable DVD players but the screen on that was kind of small for split-screen.
Is it practical all the time for everyone? No. But it’s pretty awesome. I also think in a hotel you could have this on a table and play split screen comfortable if you’re close enough. It’s certainly bigger than the console screen.
I can also see this being great at university because you can set up a play session almost anywhere that you have an outlet.

I got case from Harbor Freight, that I custom cut the foam. Although it doesn't have a built in screen, it cost me less then $60. Holds Switch w/joycons, 4 pro controllers, dock, power brick, HDMI cable, 2 USB c cords, 2 joycons rails and 8 games. It's super handy for travel and overly protective. I got a short video on it. "Ultimate Switch Case"
I think even though the switch is portable you may still want to look at a bigger screen while you play it and that case gives you that if you want to play on a larger screen and if you go on vacation and don't want to mess with hooking it up to a hotel TV to play the system! Also you can only play the system in handheld mode for a few hours so if the battery gets low you may want to dock it and continue playing it on the TV that is in that case!
My first thought was seeing how sturdy it is was using it for military transport, when my husband went overseas they had to pack up his room and his PlayStation got trashed even though we put it back in the original packaging and labeled it a hundred times
Caseclub makes some awesome stuff. They actually make one for basically every major console out right now. PS5, Series x and the previous gen consoles. With the new consoles you can even get them with 4k monitors. Honestly though, the switch one seems to be the best yet.

I have a vanguard that I cut foam to hold my switch , 2 pro controllers , head phones , and I love it. The screen is 1080. And yes I have a plug outlet for my car also.
Didn't notice you mention it, unless I missed it, but those cuts under the dogface controller slots are also for game carts
Its actually perfect if you want to play with someone while on the road, in train or simply on vacation and you want to play with someone but you won't be carrying separate screen say, when in the mountains or at the beach. But this will let you do it, without the inconvenience of small screen (for 2+ people). And like you said it's heavy enough to be steady while someone is driving.
I would also say that some pickpokets will notice you play on switch and might want to steal it from you later, but when they see you have your case open (looking in on your front, not from your back), then they would think you are just doing something with your luggage. Not to mention it's hard to steal something big and heavy. Personally i would love to have it and be able to spend half an hour playing games on my switch while in the train, going to work every day, but i don't want to play on the switch "in the open view". I only once played with my switch on the train and i was in the corner and my switch was inside my backpack, so it was quite inconvenient for me.
This thing seems awsome, though i don't need so many slots for controlers. For me a case for docked switch, with charger and 2 controlers MAYBE with room for 2nd switch would be enough. That is to say it's too big for me (and too expensive) but i bet many people will find it useful.

You can actually plug in headphones while the switch is docked and it will work that way!
*although I dont know if it'll stop the sound coming through the screen but you should just be able to lower the screen's sound separately from the switch
