the ending to this track gives me goosebumps every time. donny encapsulates the murderer’s mindset so well in those lines, it’s chilling as it is beautifully done.
Every single song shown so far from the upcoming "Divine Inner Tension" album has been 10/10s for me which is rare. As a package (meaning entire album) its surpassed everything this band has previously worked on. To me Wake (2014) has always been their masterpiece in which every single fucking track on that album was great. If not their best, this album will become my personal favorite and shit, it already has. I adore this darker tone and theme they're clearly going for. Also love how in the album art it looks like someone is either piecing or tearing themself apart or back together which lines up lyrically with 'Chunker' and 'Under the Floor'.
Band is 70/70 on perfect releases so far - people saying this band have just hit their stride are missing out, will never forget when I found POW and then Elepantitis a year or two before Wake came out, what gold this band has given us Band DOES NOT miss and HAS NOT missed since POW - 10/10 content as always
2:00-2:47 is one of my favorite part of any Hail the Sun song now. I so deeply wish that part was longer. It's so fucking haunting and disturbing but in a peaceful way. I could listen to that bit forever. Aric/Shane on that guitar is sooo smooth. I hate that right when it seems the guitars are going somewhere really interesting it just abruptly stops. maybe that was the point. The drumwork which follows a pattern but then on the second round goes like rapid-fire 2:19 and then re-enters the pattern only to be broken by Donovan's sweeping vocals. To me the soaring vocal is like one of John Wayne Gacey's victims fighting for air and relevancy only for the screws to be tightened on the floorboard further with his voice fading out into obscurity--into existence. Then that long note communicates the frustration and pain that comes with losing everything to some psychopath, and the realization that many others will be joining the same fate.
This song brought me back to Hail The Sun. Wake was amazing but I fell out for whatever reason. Other two new singles have been great but this one steals my ears. 10/10! Love the guitars and lyrics.
IM SOOOOO EXCITED!!!! I got VIP tickets to see them and seeing the first 3 singles for the new album already be BANGERS I cannot WAITTTT to see these live. I’m gonna cry 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Duuuude! Firstly…the song is amazing! Secondly I was like freaking out more and more as the song and video progressed! This was such a great video. Love it!
I remember jumping hard asf when they played mind rider at their San Antonio show back in January and man I had no idea what there was to come. Endless love guys:,)
ive seen hail the sun live 2 times, very fun shows, donovan runs across the stage , mic stand swinging great time. i hope i can visit australia one day!
While I am pretty excited for a new Hail The Sun album, I really hope Donovan plans on doing more solo albums too, cause his last one was something I had been waiting for from him for years! When it finally happened and dropped I was in such amazement, I couldn't stop listening to the whole album on repeat for a month or more ....it was so damn good! Please, Donovan, if you happen to read this, make another solo album or ep cause you killed it with the previous one!
@@louistech112 This song makes a specific reference to "the 8213 house" which is where the serial killer John Wayne Gacy killed all of his victims. Donovan sings most of the song from the perspective of the victims and gives a voice to the fear they must have felt.
Lyrics: I see red over white and the view of my last sight disappears. He's calling it fate - I think that it might be mine. Now I'm under the floor. Deja vu at the door. In the space that you crawl they'll be finding us all. Right here under the floor. Autopsy showing the marks of the chosen. Autopsy showing the marks of what I endured. I tried to escape But I never could read his mind. Red, over white, turn to black in the 8213 house. Now I'm under the floor. Deja vu at the door. See the cuffs in the room? You'll be joining me soon. Right here under the floor. Autopsy showing the marks of all who were chosen. Autopsy showing the marks of what we all endured. Talked back with tentative tongues to see what could save us. But our bodies were Cemented there. I want to be your God, too. I want to be loved by you. I want to be your God, too. Now I'm under the floor. Deja vu at the door. See the cuffs in the room? You'll be joining me soon! Right here under the floor. In the space that you crawl you'll be finding us all. Right here under the floor. I want to be loved by you. I want to be your God, too.
@@Circletakesthejakemy interpretation of that was that most of these serial killers think they’re some kind of god or something.. or higher power. John Gacy had a huge ego and was very manipulative, charming, and controlling. Even just hearing his tone of voice you can sense that. I think the song is the victims pov but those two lines about being loved and god feels like Gacy talking.
I hope John and Shane are safe in the world of this video. I’d imagine they’re looking for the ones under the floor, but Gacey might have them under a different floor lol
I thought that was John in the floor with Aric and Donovan? Or is that Allen? Or is Allen on the countertop with the tape over his mouth? I'm the same, though. Was searching for all of them and hoping they were okay on this world. Edit: Nope, Allen has a nose ring. So must be him on the countertop. Maybe Shane and John are the lucky ones who managed to get away from him.
THEY. DONT. MISS.
THEY REALLY DONT DO THEY?
NEVER❤❤❤❤
FACTS!
Their aim is phenomenal
Donovan's voice has never sounded better than this song right here! 10/10
the layering in vocals on this song is soooo beautiful
this song hands down the best song i've heard in a while. I can't stop replaying it constantly. Spotify wrapped was destroyed lol
the ending to this track gives me goosebumps every time.
