Hey, I was thinking of making this for my family and wondered how many this serves? :)
My chickpeas are soaking now 😌 I’m making it tomorrow. What is 3/4 of a tablespoon? I’m confused
Should I use dried chickpeas or boiled ? Thank you.
I just did subscribe and thank you!Trying this one tomorrow with rice so not as breakfast 🙂
Bruh same
Being from Saudi Arabia I have lots of Indian and Pakistani community that i have lots of friends with. I was introduced to this dish back in 1999 and loved it ever since. Sometimes i make it as breakfast for my wife and kids 👍 Thank you
Thank you Abdulaziz for such a lovely comment. I am glad you enjoy my recipes. Thannks for watching 🙂
I’ve recently been on a vegetarian diet and I used your recipe to not just make my first chickpea meal, but my very first curry. I only had green onions. So I mixed a bunch of that, and garlic at the beginning. And used cilantro at the end to give it that little boost. It was amazing. Each bite I take it tastes like the first. Autopsies me each time. You’ve helped me expand my Horizon of meals I could make with so little, cheap ingredients
Thank you for such a wonderful comment! I am glad my recipes are of help 🙂
Why am I looking up recipes at 3am
whichwitch same
same!!
Coz you're hungry !
You know damn well why!
Cuz you soaked you chickpeas. And you wanna eat them. 😊.
I don’t comment on videos ever but I just have to say that I made this and it was hands down the best chana masala I have ever had!! The instructions were so simple to follow and it has so much flavor which I loved. The only thing I did different was add 3 green chilies instead of one because I like more spice.
Glad you liked it!! Thank you for such a lovely comment 😍
I have never been able to make a chickpea recipe I like until now. Instructions were easy to follow and the dish was so delicious and full of flavor, thank you!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment 🙂
This does look great. I am gunna try this too
I tried it today and honestly I did not expect that it would taste so good.
I just made this for dinner tonight. Omg it was so good. Inused coconut oil and I didn't even need the juice from the chickpeas or extra water. I had 2 really juicy large tomatoes and I think that helped.
Made this for the 4th time today! Can’t wait to break my fast. Thank you for this delicious recipe!!🙌🏼👍🏼💜
I'm glad you enjoy my recipe! 😍
Cooked this the other night and I can honestly say this is the best home-cooked chana masala I've ever tasted. My old recipe was ok, but nowhere close to this. This is about as close to a restaurant chana masala you're going to get at home. Brilliant.
Glad you liked it Simon! 🙂
I made it and it tasted great. Used canned chickpeas and powdered coriander instead. Took 15 minutes, thank you for the great recipe.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it 🙂
I'm japanese and when I came to India for a trip years ago , I tasted the chickpea curry in a restaurant. And for the past few days I have been craving chickpea curry and brought some chickpeas from the market but don't know how to cook it. Thanks for showing the cooking method.
Without you amazing people I don’t think I’ll ever cook such a delicious meal 🥘
Thank you for your kind words 😍

Really good recipe to follow. I adjusted it a little according to how my mum would show me, but she can’t now as she is in heaven. It tastes just like her cooking. I even used this recipe to cook chicken tikka today. Was delicious. Thank you soo much 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for following my recipes! May Allah swt grant your mother Jannat ul Firdaus
I made this for a prep ! It was easy and tasty I can’t believe I could recreate it.Only thing is it was a little salty so I wouldn’t follow the recommended salt ingredient I would add it to taste
Agreed. I have cooked this a few times and now I only use a fraction of the salt. Very tasty recipe.
I made this today.....it was so tasty and so delicious !!!
Just made this and it was absolutely amazing! The flavour is so much richer than the other videos I’ve watched. I may have tweaked it a little bit where I added a quarter of the oil and the whilstthe vegetables were cooking, I added coconut oil then and thought. It gave it such a unique flavour! Would 100% recommend this recipe✌🏽
I just tried this, the recipe was super easy to follow. It’s so flavorful and delicious 😋.
Glad you liked it! 😍

Made it last night and at first i feared that there was too much turmeric and garlic but cooked it well and turned out delicious! Nice, with strong masala and well salted and spiced. Thanks! :)
Thank you for this recipe! I hope to surprise my Indian friends at work with this tomorrow. 💛💛
Hope they like it! 🙂
The best chickpea curry I have ever made. I'm only using your recipe from now on
Priscilla Mukiibi hey, I’m thinking of making this today and was wondering how long should you cook the curry for in total?
I am definitely making this today - after watching many versions, yours looks like the kinda consistency colour and level of spicy ness that will pair well with the spelt rotis I’m going to make too....I’ve just seen tuna curry in your repertoire so that too is saved and on my list 🙌🏾 please could you do more vegetable and fish dishes? I’m off to see what else I can find! Thank you for your efforts - may god continue to bless your hands!
Thank you for such a lovely comment. I will definitely be making more vegetarian and fish recipes. If you have any in mind, please feel free to let me know. Also, how did the chana masala recipe turn out for you?
@@CookwithNabeela girrrrlll! Let me tell you!!! A-MAZING! Now, I’ve never been a chickpea kinda girl - but for health reasons I’ve done away with all meat (still having fish currently) for a while. This dish was so perfect. Filling, tasty (I put a little less chilli - 1/2 tsp) and with the spelt flour rotis I made for the first time, it really filled me up. My advice is don’t rush the onion, tomato phase, really let it cook down and then again once you add the garlic paste and spices - really let them cook. I admit - I cheated - I used tinned chickpeas🤦🏾♀️ because they’ve been in the cupboard for ages - just didn’t know what to do with them. I still cooked them for 45mins (a little longer actually). They didn’t break up or mush out and when the sauce reduced and the oil separated , I threw in that fresh coriander and 👌🏾! I will definitely be making this again as a good friend popped round and practically had half the pot!!🤣
Thanks again - excellent recipe and easy to follow instructions. I’m now scrolling through to see what else I can make from your library. This was so good, I’m sure anything else I make will be just as good and delicious! Have a positive day and please be encouraged to continue to cook and post. Just lovely!🥰
Omg i had this the other day for the first time and it was so good. Love it
Tried it yesterday ! The taste was amazing ❤️ i added a lil bit garam masala in end

Omg so good. I also added ginger and tasted amazing it. I notice that you didnt put garlic in the ingredient list. Anyways i was watching the video and i didnt miss it. Great simple chill and easy to follow! Cant wait to try more
Thanks for watching! I have added the garlic paste, thanks for pointing this out 🙂
@@CookwithNabeela garlic paste its still missing in the instructions, also ingredients says cumin powder, instruction says cumin seeds.. i was able to figure it out anyways and loved the recipe!!
Made this today and it went down well. 3tsp of tumeric powder was bit too much but I added some sugar to balance it off. Thank you for this recipe!
Tried this recipe and I must say it
turn out great 👍🏼 and delicious.
Love your Cooking, Simple and
taste!! 🇨🇦🌿🌶
Glad you liked it!! 🙂
I have just made this dish and it's absolutely delicious! Super easy and inexpensive to make . I've subscribed to your channel because I love Indian food!
Awesome! Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed my recipe 🙂
Why doesn't jeera go in with the spices earlier? Why at the end? At the end it doesn't have time to bloom in the oil and develop, right? A pinch of garam masala or kasoori methi at the end makes sense, but all the raw jeera?
If u add roasted zeera powder at the end it tastes good
She didn't add whole zeera. She added ground zeera, she even mentioned in the video. And you can add ground zeera at the end.
Thanks to your recipes I can now update my Muzmatch profile to say ‘I cook a nice chana masala’ 😬
Keep these coming they’re great!

Thank you so much! 😍
Your welcome 🤗 . I bought a microwave meal of the Chana
masala 🍛 it was abit spicy 🌶 I had it with paratha 🫓. Maybe I should make the chana masala curry myself one day . Is there a way to make it not spicy ?
I keep seeing so many ways to make it😬 I’m just excited to try it
Thank you for the recipe! Was amazing ❤
My pleasure 😊
Awesome recipe. Just made it and it was delicious. Thank you 🙏🏽
Glad you liked it!!
Awesome work thank u for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I just tried this recipe. Really good combination of spices, but it's very spicy. I'll try less chilli powder next time. Thank you
Thanks for trying it out. You can either reduce the amount of chilli powder or you can also not add the green chilli :)
@Cook with Nabeela I just subscribed to your channel . That looks so yummy 😋. You can serve this with paratha 🫓 right ?
Thank you! Yes you can 🙂
I buy the paratha 🫓 from the supermarket the frozen one . Every time I fry it it gets stuck together .

Hi is there any ginger needed for this recipe?
How long do you have to cook chickpeas before they actually get soft? i tried to make my own today, boiled for 30 minutes and they still werent soft
That looks delicious.
Thank you!
plz reply if need to put 500 grm of dry chickpeas or already cooked ones??
I'm cooking this now
Hope you like it! 🙂
Hello. Are the chickpeas pre-cooked or boiled or were they raw? Thank you
Tasty. Did you use packet or canned chanas? 🙏👍
In this recipe, i used canned chick peas 😊
EXELLENT RECIPE !!exept I would omit half of the oil you added a little too much for my taste 😋
Great recipe and video! I tried it, came out great. Even decided to shoot my own video! 😊
Thank you for watching!
Cook on what heat for 30 mins
Yuup. I was already wondering why no cumin and then it came. Tipical for arabic recipes.
Can I substitute canned tomato chunks?
Yes you can 🙂
which tin of chick peas is best for this? i have the normal chick peas
Loved it ❤️
Thank you! 😊
Hungry me rn with nothing but chickpeas in the pantry
Could I use coconut oil instead of olive oil??
absolutely it's even healthier
Good clear presentation, but if I use regular oil how healthy would this be
Watching this at 4am
Can I substitute lentils for this, and how would i adjust the liquid?
the best!
but why spoil taste using olive Oil ?
