Thank you for this tutorial. I, too, have this butane stove but have never used it, either. I found a case of butane canisters at a good price at a Costco Business store. They also had the portable stove there as well. I have rain ponchos, tarps, matches, lighting (solar garden lights from the dollar store, for example), oil lamps, flashlights, batteries, extra can openers, metal camping dishes, tents, seeds, water and water filters, instructional books, crank flashlight/phone charging combos, work and garden gloves, etc. So glad you are sharing these wonderful, practical, inspired videos, Sandy!
Your list is so helpful! You have thought about a lot of possibilities and what you may need. I am sure because of what you have done, you also have peace of mind.
Thank you so much for the detailed instructions! I’ve had a Coleman butane stove that looks identical to yours in my hurricane kit for a couple years. Thankfully I’ve never had to use it. Hurricane Milton came through last night and I fully expected to be out of power. Woke up this morning and was pleasantly surprised. Power is still on. Guess the stove will go back into storage for the next one. I’ll be saving your video!
They are called Asain Markets. They cater to people looking for foods that normally are not found in most American stores. They have alot of spices, kelp and dried fish. But, I have always seen butane and single burner stoves there as well.
I have a gas grill with an extra tank but have thought about buying a Coleman stove. Liked your demonstration. Liked the blanket because periodically we have lost power during a snow storm. Once I was unprepared and had to walk home in heels from work without a coat. Won’t happen again.
Thank you soo much for this! I ordered that very one (Gas One) on Amazon, and also a four pack of canisters, a couple years ago. And never used it, lol. I was concerned, because I'm a visual learner, and only had the written instructions. I was afraid if I ever did need it, I might blow something up. But seeing you show how easy it was really put my mind at ease. Plus it never occurred to me to look in the camping section for prepping stuff. Thanks again for this awesome video! Saved in my camping/survival playlist and new subscriber. 😊
@@nizammajid5002 can you leave the canister in that horizontal position, in the stove, but not being used or do you have to remove it from the camping store when you were not using it?
@@Hope-ot1xy absolutely 👌.. just do not latch in the outlet into the stove.. will risk for gas leak. I have this type that I use daily with no issue (putting it horizontally) and no issue
Thanks for the video. We have had this type of stove for over 45 years. We have 2 as we do table cooking for groups and for car camping. I did use them during our 6 day hurricane Sandy outage and a couple of days during the grid outage. There was a great sale recently at H-Mart and there was a model around $10. That said they had another one for $25 and if I was in the market would have gotten the pricier one. (better made). Any Asian market are probably going to be the best fuel canister prices. BTW if you like to sear food and want a torch, they make a butane torch head that snaps on these canisters. I have the one you have to fill with the smaller Zippo fuel, but my brother got the one that snaps on to these fuel cans. His gets much hotter and since you already have this type of canister you don't have to get a separate industrial type butane canister in your kitchen dedicated for that one tool. (the old dark green butane canisters like a Sears butane torch for removing paint)
I lived through Hurricanes Laura and Delta. No power for a month. I used a Coleman camp stove and bought a small one like you are showing from Walmart. It was $19. More expensive now, but it works great. I use indoors.
When I looked back at when I bought the stove 3 years ago, it was under $20 then. For short term cooking, I wouldn't be worried about using it indoors either.
I have e Gas One stove and canisters, but have not needed to use it as recent hurricanes (Ian) did not cut our power where I am in Palm Beach County. glad to see your tutorial! I did use (hurricane Irma, 2017) an Aqua Pod kit which is a bathtub water storage plastic bag/bladder. It fits in a tub with a slide-on connection to the faucet. Up to about 45 gallons (small tub) of clean water from your tap. It comes with a simple hand pump to fill smaller containers you can use for drinking, cooking, shower. It states it can go up to 65 gallons in a larger tub. You can buy the bag by itself, if you already have a pump. We always buy 3 cases of bottled water too, but if a cat 3 or greater is coming…the tub bladder is a great option. We have 2 bathrooms so this is feasible for us, as we have the separate shower.

Yes, I love that after you wrote, Trust in the Lord, you added, Keep working. We need to be actively preparing to help ourselves, families, and neighbors.
Great video. I have a propane stove that must be 35 years old now. I bought it for camping, way back when I was a much younger man, and I've used it many, many times when camping. No reason why it wouldn't serve equally well at home in a no-power emergency. You can also buy one-pound propane tanks at Walmart that last me through several camping weekends. Can't say how the price compares with butane, as the stove in your video is the first butane-fueled stove I've ever seen. My propane stove isn't as portable as yours, but it does offer two burners, which is nice, as you can have your coffee perking away while cooking your breakfast. I like your underlying point -- that preps can very often be sourced from where camping equipment and supplies are sold, since emergencies present you with many of the same problems that camping does. Thanks for your videos!
Yep, your old camping stove will serve the same purpose. Use what you have is my motto. My mom and dad have one of those old stoves you’re taking about that we always took camping.
Hi Sandy. I bought my Gasone stove at Amazon as well as the butane canisters. Someone asked if they are safe for indoor cooking. Yes they are. I experienced hurricane Ian firsthand and my advice would be to purchase a camping shower with a USB rechargeable battery. Thanks for another great video and God bless.
People who have lived through hurricanes always have great advice. I dont even know what a camping shower is, but now that you told me about it, I am going to look it up. Thanks!
Camping showers work well enough - If water is in short supply you might think of sponge bathing - also it helps to add some baking soda to the water used for a sponge bath - baking soda helps prevent rashes by neutralizing the skins acidity -
Hi Sandy, I actually bought one of these stoves about five years ago and I have it buried in my shed in the backyard. This is such a good idea to get it out and go over how it works! I need to put it in a place that I know where to find it. I also need to order some more butane thank you so much for this important reminder because if I needed it, it would probably take me a whole day to find it! By the way, you look so fit and trim!
I bought that Coleman butane stove after watching your video a few years ago and I’m so glad I did. I did recently buy a 4-pack of the butane cans from Sam’s Club for $8.28. The power went out so many times in my area last summer and now I don’t have to worry about making meals.
I once took a Chinese cooking class in the early 90’s and the teacher used one of these to cook with. I went out and bought one immediately so I’ve had it for 30 years. I have used it maybe twice since then but it works great
Sawyer and Grayl are two of the more popular water filters other than the life straw. From what I understand the life straw will get difficult to use (you have to suck the water threw it) but works in a pinch. The Sawyer has many different types of filters to choose from. If you get the Grayl (some of these will remove pesticides and other harmful chemicals/ farm ponds or water near farms "hikers") I would recommend the larger one because it's easier to press down. Most of those are for personal filtration (backpack kind of thing) not filtering gallons except the Sawyer has some larger containers and they last longer. By the way Pathfinder Dave Canterbury's store has much of this stuff on his website and the have muti-fuel stoves as well as a lot of other camping/survival gear.
Thank you Sandy, this is very valuable info! I buy butane canisters at Asian supermarkets, they sell them for Korean BBQs, and they can be much cheaper than Walmart. Love from Canada!
I always am so happy to hear from people around the world! Asian markets are a great idea, and one I didn’t know about. I’m sure others will read your comment and now go to their Asian market.
Butain burns hotter than natural gas and propane - asians often want a real hot flame to stir fry and a butane stove is ideal for that type of cooking -
Yeah I knew someone who depended on a butane stove to cook with and the biggest problem they had was finding canisters and butane... I have a white gas stove you pump it after you put the fuel in to produce pressure. I've always been able to find fuel for it.
I found mine on Amazon … very simple & good price. It really is a sense of security to have one or two should the power go out. Enjoy your videos, thank you!
I bought butane canisters off Amazon in packs of 28. Each canister gives you about 3.5 hours of use - somewhat less if you have it going full blast. I have several packs of 28 sitting here so I'm good for a while. There are a lot of makes of those camping stoves. They are pretty much all alike.
I a going to buy this gas stove! I just hope that we have the electricity to keep the refrigerator running! I’m ordering powdered eggs, buying canned soups, dehydrated broccoli, stuff that doesn’t need refrigeration.
I bought packs of butane on Amazon. I’ve also seen individual cans at Walmart & our local hardware store. I haven’t needed mine either but it provides a sense of security….just in case.
I have found Butane in Asian Markets in my area, South Mississippi. Very inexpensive! Note...Butane does not work in extremely freezing weather. I would also get a solar power bank with solar panels and some propane that you could use sparingly if the electricity is out for a long time. We never know what might happen. It is good "to try" to be prepared based on what one has learned about what to do, in case of an emergency. I really need to do more research on this topic. Thank you for sharing!
You are right about the "it's good to try to be prepared". Nobody knows what the future holds, but we can at least put in the effort to try to get things in our homes, the best we can. No matter what, it will be cheaper to buy now than it will be in the future.
Also. Those butane cans don’t last very long though in a couple of weeks in a bad storm or other event. My gas one stove came with connections for both propane where you can use the white tanks like on our bbq grills, or can be used with butane. Having been in a couple of bad hurricanes with prolonged electrical outages I highly recommend having propane options as you can affordably store larger amts of fuel.
I got my stove and canisters from an Asian food market. Asians use those stoves a lot for everyday cooking. I liked mine a lot. Got lost in a move. Time to get another one. 4:29
Thanks for sharing this. We don't have any Asian markets around us, but others will read this comment and know where they can go find one. And you're right, time to get a new one.
I've always used propane camp stoves. On a shopping trip to Walmart a couple of years ago I happened to see an end counter advertising an $8 butane camp stove sale! Even though I had never used them, I instantly grabbed one, figuring it would be a good addition to my preps. Being familiar with camping gear, I knew the price was a steal! Now the price of propane has gone up so much, I think I should switch to the butane stove anyway! *Side note regarding alcohol stoves: Be EXTRA careful with them. The flame can be almost invisible!
I bought a couple of the Butane stoves. I bought both from Amazon, one is Japanese made and the other is Colemen I think. I got some of my butane from a cash and carry store up the street from me. The others were bought from Amazon. BTW I also bought a Butane Heater which could also be used to cook food.
Hi, i have 2 of these.. one a regular size and the other is a smaller size. Am from far east Asia and these portable stoves are sold cheaply. I think its less than US$20. I prefer these than the regular stoves because of its size, and i live alone and of course, they're portable!
It has only been the last year that our little Walmart in northern Michigan started carrying butane stoves. Before that only propane stoves were available. For ease of use, I prefer the butane. However, if you live in a cold climate it is important to be aware that if the power is out and it is really cold, butane will not work. In cold climates it is helpful to have both propane and butane options.
I use my stove when we go camping. I can cook outside or inside our rv. I also use my stove to cook seafood outdoors at home for q quick dinner and don't have to stink up the house. I buy my butane cans at smart and final or sams club.
Remember, butane ignites poorly in cold weather, so just tuck it inside your coat and warm it in cold weather. Once it is burning, it will warm the canister to keep the gas flowing, no trouble. ALSO. KOVEA makes a butane/propane mix fuel canister. Since the propane ignites better in cold weather, I keep a few just to get things going during that initial stressful, power down period. I get mine at Bi Mart .
The green coleman propane 1 lb tanks can be refilled from the 20lb grill tanks! They just have to have the little air release valve! Edit- and you need an adapter to connect the two. There are videos on YT showing how!
Hi Sandy, it's Joe. I have a Coleman duel burner propane stove. I have lots of 1 pound bottles and 20 pounders to refill the 1 pounders. I also have cat food can stoves, and pop can stoves. They use alcohol. I have life straws and sawyer filters. I also have a Berkey. I have lots of stainless steel bushcraft cooking equipment. 😠💪 ..................... 😎👍👍
I'm just going to use what I have either my Coleman Classic, I have 6 canisters of propane Or, my fire pit I have a lot of firewood and my Grandma's old cast iron skillets.
Thank you. We bought a Coleman after Hurricane Sally. Have never used it. Always afraid we would not know how to use it when the time comes. We were wondering if the canister was out of date. Good 10 years. Great video. We got Coleman and canisters at Walmart in 2019.
This is the way my family has cooked for years. I am a pacific islander. Currently reside in Washington state and we still cook this way in the present day. Saves a lot of money. I dislike paying high power bills.😂
In San Francisco they use those stove's to cook in the coffe shops where they sale the expensive breakfast, after I saw that years ago,I was so proud od my preps
I bought the Coleman and got the attachment to hook up to BBQ LP...just got an EcoFlow Delta 2 with Solar Panels...I have 2 gas generators but figure better off with Solar Generator...hang tough stay safe God Bless
There is a good chance you might still need your gas generator - I live in the deep South in a rural area - I know some that still don't have power lines running to there homes - they just use led lights off battery's charged by solar panels - From February till July 2022 the sky was over cast every day - If they had a generator they could have charged there battery for there lights - In the end they had to use candles during that time of no sun -
Great stoves, I camp & travel a lot. I bought mine at Walmart, You mentioned buying butane fuel at both: Walmart & from Amazon. Ordering a case of 24 butane cans off Amazon is much cheaper than buying them at Walmart, you save money buying the butane off Amazon.
We have a couple of camp stove options. The first one my BF bought is the type that sits on top of a propane (I think) camping bottle. It makes me nervous because it seems like it would fall easy. A couple of Christmases ago he bought me a no-name butane stove, which surprised me because I had been thinking of getting something but hadn't said anything to him. I wish I had because I was really leaning toward a dual fuel stove so I could use either propane or butane bottles. (It seems either one or the other is hard to find, so it seems best to be able to use either.) I am wanting to practice setting up and using a cinder block rocket stove in case for some reason we only have sticks and twigs as fuel options.
Having been through so many disasters in our lifetime, we have various back up methods to cook. If you live in a sunny location don't forget solar cooking. Our power company shuts off the power when we have high temps or high winds quite often , which can be for several days up to weeks. We have a generator plus different types of wood / gas stoves, but we usually cook with the sun during those types of power outages, plus we will use thermal cooking methods ..such as a Stanley thermal cooker to save fuel.
Our backup cooking option is an old Coleman dual fuel camp stove. It uses either white gas or unleaded gasoline. A little more involved to operate but its a two burner stove. The fuel available prob!em is solved.
@@sandysteinbrook found this link I thought I share this with everyone, I have always hesitant using butane bc I ve seen and heard horror stories. Perhaps those people do not aware how to do it safely. ua-cam.com/video/2bnxPIr34SA/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared

Fyi those butane stoves don't work well in really cold weather. We've used them up in northern maine. Coleman propane stoves always work no matter what the temperature is. Something to think about.
It was a while ago but I got canisters of butane from an Asian grocery store. I can't remember how much they were but I do remember how shocked I was at the lower price compared to Walmart.
There are some that are uncomfortable using gas appliances - there are also alcohol portable stoves or sterno stoves - Many that live on sail boats don't care for gas appliances and use alcohol stoves -
Would you use a butane stove indoors? I have read you should have a digital carbon monoxide monitor and fire extinguisher on hand. Also is ut safe to store the butane canisters indoors? I also read they should be the ones with CRV.on the label.
You hsve a good idea. But, how long can you shelve the Butane? I'll find out, but I hope it's worth it. That said, maybe using the canned gas before it expires, gives you something new to do plus, you have a new skill on hand. Have a fire blanket on hand as well.
These would also be great to give to those people after the hurricanes have destroyed their homes and they are camping because they have no cookstove currently. This would really be helpful to many people.

Careful the metal plates they can get Hot. I use mine to hold the paper plates and the paper insulates well enough to keep the metal easily handled.
You mentioned some things in your comment that I hadn’t thought of to add to my prepping inventory. Thanks!
The best place I have purchased the butane bottles is at the oriental store. Last month they were $1.50 each in five packs.
Whoa! What a great price!
What is the Oriental store?
Don't forget to pull up the canister lever when you're done cooking. I had once forgotten to do this and noticed the can was empty!
@@nizammajid5002 perfect! Thank you! 😊
Tea candles in a cupcake pan also works
Thank you! You shared something else that I have never thought about.

Can you use this indoors with window open
Thanks!
Camping showers work well enough -
If water is in short supply you might think of sponge bathing - also it helps to add some baking soda to the water used for a sponge bath - baking soda helps prevent rashes by neutralizing the skins acidity -
IMPORTANT: carbon monoxide detector must be used if using indoor & window open, well ventilated. Best to use outdoors.
Thank you! I appreciate that.
Yep, you should get it back out and remind yourself how to use it. I had forgotten!
I bought that Coleman butane stove after watching your video a few years ago and I’m so glad I did. I did recently buy a 4-pack of the butane cans from Sam’s Club for $8.28. The power went out so many times in my area last summer and now I don’t have to worry about making meals.
That is a great deal on the canisters. We have a Sam's Club in our city. I will have to go get some. Thanks for the heads up!
don't forget about using your chafing dishes and fondue pots in a pinch
I had to look up chafing dishes to see what there were. Lol.
Have Sterno for chafing dishes
This was the kind of information I was hoping for in the comments. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this.
Butain burns hotter than natural gas and propane - asians often want a real hot flame to stir fry and a butane stove is ideal for that type of cooking -
Will they fit coleman stoves!
Yeah I knew someone who depended on a butane stove to cook with and the biggest problem they had was finding canisters and butane... I have a white gas stove you pump it after you put the fuel in to produce pressure. I've always been able to find fuel for it.
I bought a couple of these, and the propane adapter that allows me to connect to a large propane tank
Now, that is a smart idea.
Great video. I actually bought my gas portable stove at an Asian grocery store in Massachusetts.
Thank you for sharing this so others can look at Asian stores. Other comments have said they sell butane canisters also.
Butane is usually cheaper at an Asian store.
Thanks for the refresher. I also have one collecting dust. Forgot how very simple they are to use 😊
Yep! It was a good refresher for me.
I found mine on Amazon … very simple & good price. It really is a sense of security to have one or two should the power go out.
Enjoy your videos, thank you!
Ive heard the quote, one is none and two is one.
Ty for the refresh. I bought one a few years back i must see about mine and refresh my knowledge on how to use it.
You are thinking ahead...which is using the wisdom God gave us. I think you are being smart. If you wait until you need it, it's too late.
I bought a Coleman stove and fuel. I’ve never used it. Thanks for demonstrating.
I’m glad this was helpful!
I bought packs of butane on Amazon.
I’ve also seen individual cans at Walmart & our local hardware store.
I haven’t needed mine either but it provides a sense of security….just in case.
Exactly!
Great advice! Thank you for sharing this!
You can usually find butane ( poss. Stoves too) in Asian markets...
*Side note regarding alcohol stoves:
Be EXTRA careful with them.
A Butane heater is a great idea!
Your videos are full of useful info. Oh and blue is a color that always looks nice on you. Take care and God bless!
Thank you so much! It is helpful to know if they're helpful. ...and how kind of a compliment.
Thank you for sharing this! It puts people at ease to hear they can use it inside also. I see cooking shows that use them inside with no issues.
Thank you so much for this information! I always learn from the comments. I did not know that butane doesn't ignite well in cold weather. Now I know.
The green coleman propane 1 lb tanks can be refilled from the 20lb grill tanks! They just have to have the little air release valve! Edit- and you need an adapter to connect the two. There are videos on YT showing how!
Very good info!
The coffee pot is called a percolator. Very easy to use. It’s my go to pot for camping. Hotter than drip coffee.
A percolator was just about all we had in the 60s.
I found the butane canisters at GFS in a 4-pk and they had the best price available compared to other stores.
Thank your sharing this source!
I also have a
Berkey. I have lots of stainless steel bushcraft cooking equipment. 😠💪 ..................... 😎👍👍
Oh yeah, sawyer filters was another one I heard of that’s good! I’m glad you shared that. I love the comments. I always learn.
Great advice, we have one and ordered butane cans at a great price in Amazon! Great demo!
I am glad it was helpful and mostly that you found a great deal on the canisters!
You should be! Having some preps brings peace of mind.
I bought the Coleman and got the attachment to hook up to BBQ LP...just got an EcoFlow Delta 2 with Solar Panels...I have 2 gas generators but figure better off with Solar Generator...hang tough stay safe God Bless
There is a good chance you might still need your gas generator - I live in the deep South in a rural area -
I know some that still don't have power lines running to there homes - they just use led lights off battery's charged by solar panels -
From February till July 2022 the sky was over cast every day -
If they had a generator they could have charged there battery for there lights -
In the end they had to use candles during that time of no sun -
@@able880 I get it...thanks ...upstate NY we get the Chem-trails with over cast skies all the time...hang tough stay safe
I think solar is a great idea!
Thank you for sharing this! It will help others know that Amazon has the best prices.
Good idea to have one of those. Thanks for the video.
I'm on my second butane stove. I use it to make my weekly Hot Pot. yum.
They work great!
i bought one just like this this week!
It will give you great peace of mind knowing you have it "just in case".
Great video. I bought a gas one grill and the butane on Amazon after our Texas 2021 freeze. Nice to know I am prepared for the next event like that.
Love your idea. But shtf 2 weeks ago. Go to town and buy a replacement tank. Good luck. Personally ill continue cooking with wood.
I'm not sure what you mean by shift 2 weeks ago. What happened?
S.h.t.f... not shift... maybe from one of Those Bad Storms/Tornadoes, that hit Many US Towns...

Great tutorial
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much for this great recommendation
Having been through so many disasters in our lifetime, we have various back up methods to cook. If you live in a sunny location don't forget solar cooking. Our power company shuts off the power when we have high temps or high winds quite often , which can be for several days up to weeks. We have a generator plus different types of wood / gas stoves, but we usually cook with the sun during those types of power outages, plus we will use thermal cooking methods ..such as a Stanley thermal cooker to save fuel.
I mark the cap of the butane canister that is partially used with a dot of paint so I can easily grab this one first.
This is such good tip! So smart. I am going to do this. Thank you for sharing.
Our backup cooking option is an old Coleman dual fuel camp stove. It uses either white gas or unleaded gasoline. A little more involved to operate but its a two burner stove. The fuel available prob!em is solved.
I have had 1 of those single burner butane burners for over 25 yrs
Thank you, I need this! stay safe, y'all
I am glad this was helpful!
@@sandysteinbrook found this link I thought I share this with everyone, I have always hesitant using butane bc I ve seen and heard horror stories. Perhaps those people do not aware how to do it safely.

at a yard sale, brand new. I thought it was a propane. Had no clue about butane! Havnt had to use it yet, but it’s ready to go!
I have one in my prep, with a couple doz bottles of fuel. I also bought a portable indoor heater with a few doz bottles of propane or can be hooked up to a 20 lbs tank... ❤❤❤
Both can also be used for camping 🏕 😅 😄
Great info Sanday!!
Really smart to have the option to be hooked up to the 20 lb tank. The smaller bottles of propane would run out quickly.
Hi Sandy🎉
GREAT video.
Please, please, please do a video on the BERKY WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM, soon.
Thanks 🙋
Oh, yeah. I forgot that I think I said I would do one at some point. What would you like for me to cover about the Berkey? I have had mine for about 3 years. Maybe 4 years. We love it.
@@sandysteinbrookyes, I would like a video on the Berky also. I know nothing about it so anything you cover will be helpful 🙏
I bought one of these after your previous video. Today I was more excited to see what you were cooking--- 😆 (Next time, your viewers would like to see you eat the egg!)
And again you saw....an egg. Lol. I should have been more creative. I thought about boiling water but I was like eh, an egg is easier.
Fyi those butane stoves don't work well in really cold weather. We've used them up in northern maine. Coleman propane stoves always work no matter what the temperature is. Something to think about.
Very well done video. Thanks.
Sams club, got a pack of butane :) Thank you for your time and information, we appreciate u!
You're welcome. :)
Thx for this helpful information!
I am glad it was helpful!
It was a while ago but I got canisters of butane from an Asian grocery store. I can't remember how much they were but I do remember how shocked I was at the lower price compared to Walmart.
The butane stoves and canisters are available at many restaurant supply stores.
Great tip! It is so helpful to know where to go in different areas to get better deals.
We use the Lifestraw water bottles for each person
Make sure the canisters you purchase have a TSV- temperature sensing valve... wont explode on you if it gets hot or something catastrophic
Great information, thank you ‼️💯
Where to store butane canister? 10 month hot weather 92 - 122 degrees. Garage is like dry sauna.
Sandy, forgive my ignorance, but can you use the portable gas stove in doors, in your kitchen ? Or is it only for outdoor use ? Thank you.
You can use indoors if you have to but be by a window that is open (does not have to be fully) for ventilation.
Agree with the below comment. It is safe to use indoors, just give a little ventilation.
I have been trying to see what I can get for my coffee, I have battery run coffee bean grinder for a pour over.
I found that i can get butane canisters at dollar stores , not only dollar general but small local stores
I ordered my butane cannisters off of Amazon at the same time I bought my stove which is a different brand. I bought 8 cannisters.
Thank you for sharing. I ordered mine off Amazon too. Amazon makes it so easy since they drop it off right to our front porch.
There are some that are uncomfortable using gas appliances - there are also alcohol portable stoves or sterno stoves -
Many that live on sail boats don't care for gas appliances and use alcohol stoves -
Good information. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Would you use a butane stove indoors? I have read you should have a digital carbon monoxide monitor and fire extinguisher on hand. Also is ut safe to store the butane canisters indoors? I also read they should be the ones with CRV.on the label.
IMPORTANT: carbon monoxide detector must be used if using indoor & window open, well ventilated. Best to use outdoor.
You hsve a good idea. But, how long can you shelve the Butane? I'll find out, but I hope it's worth it. That said, maybe using the canned gas before it expires, gives you something new to do plus, you have a new skill on hand. Have a fire blanket on hand as well.
I also have a small heater that uses butane canisters
what happens when you run out of butane????...
What is the difference between butane and propane and is one better or more efficient than the other?
Coleman dual fuel with dual burner
Someone else mentioned this too.
