LEGO and Spider-Man is a winning combo for me despite my issues with some sets. I feel the quality has shifted since the 2020s time and yearn for a resurgence from the peak era of 2015 - 2018 sets but I'll always still be paying attention to what's happening with the theme.

With the release of the tasm 2 suit in the nwh set, Lego has shown that they are not scared of releasing previously sdcc exclusive figures (despite being updated) and they clearly have some sort of weird obsession with venom, but they won’t just release a new symbiote spider-man
I am so fascinated by the withholding of the Symbiote suit. You would have to assume it’s intentionally being held off for something special and maybe it was supposed to be a movie suit first? But we haven’t seen any movie use that suit yet. Completely agree, it’s crazy we haven’t seen it yet.

@@RayLilySeriesit’s bc of kids which sucks, it’s so dumb that’s why we can’t get prowler or spot bc they want to make “villains kids can recognize” which is why we get the same dock ocks and green goblins and kids know venom bad so why is Spider-Man bad he’s supposed to be a good guy, tbh it would be better if they did bc they can learn that he turned bad with it but was strong and to not let emotions control you

The Green Goblin bigfig is based on the Ultimate comic and Ultimate cartoon version of GG, where he's mutated into a big monster as the Goblin. In fact, it is this Goblin that Peter dies fighting in the Ultimate comics, leading to Miles becoming Spider-Man.
Man I regret not getting the 2016 Lego Marvel sets. I was too obsessed with Lego Minecraft…
I scored most of them later in life only recently. 2016 I wasn’t paying much attention to anything LEGO related, poor choice on my part.
Me too! I’m so upset I don’t have the Bridge Battle. It’s so great! And I really want an actually good Scarlet Spider fig, but I’m stuck with the Mighty Micros one because the actual one is too expensive. Luckily it’s the only pretty ok Mighty Micros fig.

The designers explained that by having so many of the figures from the bugle appear in other sets, they were able to get so much in the bugle. Otherwise they would have had to spread the budget much thinner
I do like the reuse of those characters because it meant I was able to happily skip a bunch of $20-$50 sets, but I am tired of seeing all the Venom and Carnage sets all before ever a Lizard inclusion
@RayLilySeries We need a Lego comic accurate lizard, comic accurate electro, comic accurate rhino, comic accurate kingpin, comic accurate hammerhead, and comic accurate tombstone and maybe a scream minifig too

Best thing about the Spider crawler is that you can pretend it's the dangerous Spider SLAYER from the comics and the 90's cartoon.
I get the hate towards the spider-trike vs electro but I’ve always had a soft spot for that set because as a kid I had two of it and played with both of them more than like, any other lego set at the time
I can totally see that, and I think it has a neat charm from that 2012 era. Just wish we got more out of Electro in minifigure form.

In defense of some of the air vehicles, Spider-Man can't swing on clouds, so for places like wide-open fields or the shore (such as the dock set), they're more useful, and stuff like jets probably are faster then web-swinging, so ask why we use cars if we can walk to faraway places as well.
I’m ok with a Spider-Man set having some vehicle especially a helicopter in say a docks set, I just want the vehicles to be themed to someone else 🤷♂️ Love that Captain Stacy has a police boat in a set, that type of world design is exciting for me. But naturally a Spider-Man themed car is more appealing than a police car

I have appt he top 5 sets and so many more of them from when I was a kid I would watch ultimate spiderman so much that I tried to get every set and I’m pretty sure I did get all but 2
Bro literally in the dock set spider man needs a helicopter because there is no buildings for him to swing. You gotta realize he isn’t downtown 24/7
I would love to see the docks setting in sets more. Give us a police chopper instead of a Spider-Man themed helicopter with his face on the sides.
I don't know, there are docks missions in the videogames all the time and swinging isn't the objective there so I think the setting works fine.
Then do a crane. Cranes are prime web swinging real estate.

There are so many great ideas in the LEGO Batman line that would work just as well with Spider-Man. Two themes I don’t think LEGO is currently capturing the full potential for.
19:59 I own this set and I have to say the build is enjoyable. The mini figures are cool, the only “issue” I have with this set is that it came with two sticker sheets. Now I don’t know if that’s the case with other versions of the set or if it was just a mistake with mine
It looks neat for what it is but the unfair comparison I can't help but make is compare it to the Batcaves which I think are better. Would like to see this idea attempted again.

Like we got 4 or 5 spider man mech sets but non for the literal only spider person for which it would make perfect to release one

100% with you, giving us mechs based on characters who use mechs should be the way to go but I guess it’s more likely Spider-Man or Black Panther would ship more units over someone like Peni Parker
20:46 The Spider-Man Homecoming set actually does include Shocker and the No Way Home Expansion set that will be released in January will include the Lizard. I like the video but you can't say its every set if you don't include the movie sets.
Already ranked the movie sets and didn’t want to double up because this thing was already way too long without but fair enough.
It’s cool I guess we have some versions of those characters but I’m a comics appearance pursuit so I really need to see a version of those characters that resembles the traditional looks of comics/cartoons, not just movie appearances. So fingers crossed

Personally, I think all this 4+ sets that had rhino are good because rhino is practically. That’s the only time we can get it.
I will say for 37 if he’s in a bay he may not have many options to swing from. Otherwise planes are weird lol

Oh neat. So LEGO made a few sets then based on that specific iteration. I wish we had more cartoon coverage because those sets from 2012-2016 are some of the best sets I own.

Do you think Lego should make marvel zombie sets from the comics?
While that’s not necessarily something that I’m personally asking for, it would be cool to see. Especially having the Captain America figure, he’s kind of out of place being alone on a display.

I HAD the very last set on the list #49 which means I had the electro minifigure which is pretty rare but I was young so I lost the minifigure and the entire set… worse mistake of my life
I do wish I had that Electro figure too because at the very least its comic accurate to a very specific design, though not my preferred look for him.
A car makes less sense to me than an aircraft. At least the aircraft can allow spider man to hover or go higher up, and it can go more places without buildings than a car. A car is just completely useless for SM. At least an aircraft has use.

not tryna hate. But we get spider man doesn’t need a vehicle. We all understand that it’s a stupid concept. And I hate to sound like a broken record but it’s for kids. Just look on Google there’s a whole hell of a lot of spider themed vehicle toys for spider man.
100% but I wish LEGO would at the same time at least also produce sets that aren’t vehicle based. Love a car chase with bank robbers or a science lab build. Sports cars and motorcycles repeated for the Web-Head makes it hard to remain loyal to the theme.
