Great battle report! I'd just like to bring up one thing that Bob did that he could have improved on - when the Kodiak got hit down to two structure, he could have chosen not to overheat - or maybe just overheated for one and eaten the movement penalty - and pressed all the buttons next turn. Since you weren't playing with Pilot Special Abilities like Combat Intuition (may the creator of such a benighted rule have their ice cream cones shat upon by seagulls forevermore) there was absolutely nothing you could do to prevent the Kodiak firing again the next round, as it dies mid-shot, which would have got another opportunity to fire out of the single most dangerous 'mech on the board. Seriously, the Kodiak is horrifying. The eleven damage in one roll is a scary, scary thing, but eight that turn and then nine (due to the two weapon hits) the next is scarier. Also, never waste fire on the stealth Atlas. Just... trust me. It's not worth the effort it takes to kill the damnable thing. Kill the fire support heavies instead. You'll thank me later if you ever have to fight one of the bastards. Otherwise, great game!
Just want to highlight a moment right around the 14:10 mark where you clarify that your Blackjack doesn’t have partial cover, making it easier for Bob to hit. A great example of good sportsmanship that leads to a more positive game.
Thank you! I will forever and always try to be this way, “This is the way!” I push hard to share this view with others and encourage a more casual approach to gaming.
Fellow AS BT I have some ideas for kitbashes and I'm looking to get into the BT universe with trying to get some houses/Lances. Currently just got Wolves Dragoons done. Thinking on starting house Draconis Combine. In an 3025 TTBT Destiny of war RPG. I'm an merc named Rick cordock and am an LAM pilot. Commander of Beta Lance.
This is why I don’t think the BV for clan mechs are actually balanced vs IS mechs. Clan forces are always at a disadvantage and rarely win vs IS forces of the same BV. If the system was really balanced, the odds would be a hell of a lot closer to 50/50.
We exclusive don’t use those unless it’s for something special we want to plan out. They tend to break to game, see: Combat Intuition and Range Mastery as examples.
Funny, watching this right after the dice fiasco and you bringing up the dice

Could you show a list of the mechs you used and what variants they were?
For this one in particular I think I’ve already tossed the list :/

Great battle report! Did you guys agree to not use any special pilot abilities?

Go Highlanders!!!
