Thanks for the memories! First Montgomery elevators I worked on were like this, however the K.M. White selector was only used on some jobs, usually high speed gearless. Same selectors were used on Armor equipment. The christmas trees were all kinds of fun, and you had to keep up on them. Wear-through on the stick, broken contacts, and broken solenoid frames were common. First thing you did was look for parts on the bottom of the controller then figure out where they came from. Pivot brackets cracking on the power relays were also common. They were ahead of the curve when it came to being ADA-Compliant before the ADA existed. Everything you see is original on the fixtures.
YOOOOOOOOOOOO those machines are EPICCCCCC. Thanks man, awesome video!
I love machine rooms. I got in a few over they years in my work as a locksmith and in other construction activities. My two favorites were a 1910 hotel in San Diego and a 1969 hotel.
Purely amazing! Just, amazing!
That’s cool, you got to see the machine room.{
that machine room : O
Although I have been on these I've never seen the machine and wow those are gorgeous. What a great present for Justin, HUGE birthday wishes to him!
Huge governor!
At least there are some others places in the U.S that have original Montgomery G&P elevators!
Majority of them in Hawaii were all modernized or demolished which is very unfortunate!
The commutator needs some serious lapping, those brushes are going to wear out very quickly.
That is an epic machine room! But that motor sounds like crap. They honestly should replace it lol.
I have to agree
