About Adventures Made From Scratch: I’m just a regular guy who likes to find adventure in day to day life. We may not be able to go travel the world, but there are plenty of opportunities at our door step. I do a mix of vintage car stuff, scrapyard stuff, nature hiking, and who knows what else?!? Come with me as I take you along for a ride in my world! My 2nd Channel: / @moreadventuresmadefro...
I swear half the cars you put in the crusher look twice as good as half the cars on the road here in Detroit.....
Agreed from here in Toledo. My son's truck is definitely a candidate for Silas to crush.
As the "let's go Brandon " nut bag elitist mandate electrocution cars, the"old" iron might be just the thing to hold onto.
My 28 year old "living room on wheels " launched me on the interstate @90 MPH and wasn't even floored or in high gear yet.
Lots of mighty fine machinery going to waste.
We'll wish we had it the more we drift into the dreamy, lace tafida, and cracker jack toy future.
And in NH, so many builders and collectors would love the older stuff he crushes. 😕

Thats for sure lol
IDEA: Next time you get a load of pipe in, use it to make a frame 9" off ground. Then place a row of those box-truck boxes on it, line up a row of cinder blocks around it to keep skunks out from under. Each box could be dedicated to a theme: Used tires or rims, used batteries, gauges, 1950's tail lights, etc... Make a tiny town for shoppers.
The Mustang IIs got a nice OEM radio that's worth saving. I'd rather have one of these than the trash Mach E!
Perfect place for a Mustang. Lol
Hay buddy good to see you again buddy
Thank you Silas for your nice videos you make
Never a dull moment!
Wish to see more 60s and 70s cars and trucks getting the squeeze.
Any thing you do is great love your content Silas have a great day
Thanks for the great footage. Love watching the claw... Reminds me something out of sci-fi movie. 👍
This is like watching one of those reality shows without all the artificial drama. 👍🏻👍🏻
Love your videos. I had to laugh about the pumpkins. If the guy doesn't like it he should have kept them, or maybe sold them cheaper. 🤷♀️ You sounded just fine without the mic. Have a great Thanksgiving, stay safe and GOD bless
Ok,gtsy, glad to meet u
One day, you should take one of those ford tractors and shove it in the crusher. That will be very interesting
As soon as I’m able to drain all the fluids that’s the plan!
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch don’t do the farmall’s. They are worth more than a ford, and lots of people are looking for parts
You are living my dream there Silas. I would relish doing what you do all day long. Looking forward to seeing your new idea for content, I'm sure its goning to be interesting.
Keep safe and keep well.
David in the U.K.
Can't wait to see your new ideas video's are getting more and more interesting
he needs to stop crushing cars & something more constructive !!! 😡
I love watching you go to the claw with scrap
Locust tree earliest. Best BBQ charcoal/pipe making wood.
Looks like you’re having fun 👍👍
Love it 🤣
What's your Black Friday deal! Lol.
Morning Silas!! Another awesome video, thanks for sharing!!
May I please ask why you guys don't flatten or remove the tires? Just curious and thanks for sharing your work!
I really like your content...your life is so cool
Great video silas, keep'um coming..
How's about a tour of the tractors?
Loved the bonus of junk o'lanterns. Go for it! DO you ever receive a vehicle that you think is too good to trash, and keep it for yourself or as a work vehicle?
The green Jeep that I drive came in for scrap price. About $900 worth of work and tires later and I’d drive it across the country no worries
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch 90s jeeps interest have soared, worth tons now. Folks dropping LS/TH700R4 into them. Green is the best/rare factory color.
Style is good

Hey first time watching, Greetings from Ohio. I hit that like and subscribe button. Hope you made it thru all this COVID crap safely. Have a good day. K-LO
Always entertaining. Thanks Silas
Happy Holidays 😇
We enjoy your videos! Happy & safe Thanksgiving! 🦃
Reminds me of the ending of the movie: The Little Toaster
Hi Silas, enjoy your videos, have a Cummins K2500 here and it's safe from the crusher.....We're the UK...
Always a great video, keep up good job, cant wait for your new ideas. We are patiently waiting for next adventure. Have a great Thanksgiving , easy on the turkey.
I really enjoy your video's Silas. Never know what you will be doing each time. Again I know it's work but what you do looks like one heck of a good time. Until next time. Have a great holiday my friend.
Always amazing work 👍🏾🏆
I do love itcsll in a fall
Lookin forward to the next Silas. 🙂
👍👍👍
Before long you might have to fire up the black ASTRO and get a 53' flat bed.
Great parts on the mustang II.👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Forking them trucks flat! That’s got to be a blast!😁
Silas, I truly do try my best to stay positive and see it your side of things. I am dead seriously do try and then I see a fairly newish ford dually in the background, a tractor at the end that looks like a 8N and just here and there fairly good rigs. Out on the west coast, we have a bit of a problem for parts are hard to come by. Oh for I forget as you mentioned a square body being loaded out as a diesel and I see a dual exhaust under it so was it a dual exhaust diesel for which I haven't seen before or confusion as to which one was what. And then on that note, I just got me some female extraction sockets amazon and you walk up to those lugs that are locking or just messed up, this slides right over them and it grabs and they spin right off with the impact. And then finishing were I was going at first, there must be a plugged up market for used trucks back there. Out here if the frame is good and body is fixable, they sell for a minimum of two grand and they just don't set on lots more than say a week, most gone in a half day. Kids love the aluminum wheels so they sell good too, including some of the factory weird ones. I just hate to waste stuff but I know in my heart, I would be doing the same as you, smashing them. I ain't harping you, just wishing we didn't have to throw as much away as we do
We are just one of countless yards that do exactly what I do. There’s just no market for any of that stuff in farm country and shipping makes it too expensive to go anywhere else. I have an open invitation to anyone from out of state who wants to come load up a 53’ trailer with parts at Kansas prices to take home and sell for high dollar.
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch Silas, I think I worded my whole comment wrong. First, we have chatted before and I do know what your up against. I also know people think that you run a charity or something and that ain't close to true. You are a healthy young man with a desire to take good care of your family and do things that your dad did. Here is just what I meant. In a perfect world, rust sure wouldn't be a problem but the facts are from a many a state back there, its high population and lots of rigs, with a lot of high rust. I applaud you for the wall hangers and getting parts to people as you don't need that for a decent income, its more a bi product of salvaging and saving history. I think that you have gone the extra mile to help people just to have it thrown back at you. I honestly believe that some people think its a weakness in others and try their best to just ruin it for others. I certainly don't want you mad at me as for thinking its free so help me or something like that. I just wish all people would treat others like they like to be treated. So if I have messed up, I apologize to you sir. I see things that we don't see much of here because the whole state being the largest in our union is less than a million people by almost three hundred thousand! Yep, not many people scattered around the many many towns and villages. Some kids near me by about forty miles have a channel that really shows how it is here in central alaska. Its called "Simple living alaska" and those two are really nice kids that are not lazy and really live alaska as it used to be. Its a fun channel to watch sometimes Silas and I really think that you and your family would enjoy a clean no cursing or vugar stuff channel that show fishing, hunting travel and stuff to make it here. I hope we are still friends distanced apart.
Even w/o your mic your audio rocks, too many videos on YT are just stuffed with the sound of the wind -- I have to bail on them, but not Silas.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family
Shocking American Car Junkyard
2:28 OMG, when the arm flopped down on the right I got worried for a second. Just a reflection.
Happy Thanksgiving to all
A new video....thank you. My night is made
Cool beans 😊👍
Nothing crushes like a Deere.
Why do most junkyards keep so many newer cars that could be crushed?
Savings account
You should make a junk yard 9orno
Wow best video sharing friend greetings know me from sarawak malaysia 👍🙏

i wish we had warm weather here in jackson michigan only 31
@5:37 Stoopid Mustangs 🐎
Love the claw!!! And the EZ Crusher!!!
What do you do with cars that run or high value, yall just crush them or just wait for a buyer?
I was looking to buy one of those minivans for a winter beater. I almost bought a Chevy truck like the brown one with the blue bed instead but the auction I was at the guy did backwards around my three choices.
5:18 next to the box truck I see a black '59 Chrysler, have you shown that car on video yet?
Oh my I could have used some parts of that Chevy K2500! :(
Silas have you tried a air chisel to remove those locking nuts and frozen bolts on those aluminum wheels?
Hi Silas! I don't understand the business with the claw. Sometimes you put your scrap into boxes, sometimes you wrap it and put it on flatbeds and sometimes you take it to the claw. It was looking like the claw was loading boxes just like you do! Can you explain what's going on?
Keep up the good work!!!
We sell to different companies. The claw place loads stuff in their own trailers and takes it to their shredder.
Did you get the part for the vacuum brakes? Wondering if it fit.
It’s still October 🥴🦨🦨
There must be a mountain of glass outsie your crusher, all theglass really launches under the bending pressure,Another great video
I put hoods out to catch it and then I crush those in cars on occasion.
I'm curious how the operator works the claw in the sky. You should take his on a tour.
should get a long trailer ...maybe take 5 cars to the claw at a time
Daaaang. That poor squarebody. Yeah has rust but was decent 😢 especially if you say it was diesel. Love to have a 6.2l diesel square 🤷🏼♂️
I wonder if it's possible to get some video inside something being crushed? You know set up in a car and watch the roof collapse in on itself. Of course you'd have to have a way to retrieve your camera.. and hopefully not ruin your camera.
I plan on doing that eventually with my GoPro, but I’ll have to have a light source as the GoPro can’t see in the dark.
Maybe you could take running cars trucks vans and demo them into other cars it's a idea and some fun .
you have such a cool job men, i would be sorry for some cars i guess, sometimes.. :)
4:57 Why compress these cars ? Cannot something be salvaged from them, the engine pieces, headlights, anything ?
I got a quicker way to crush cars, drive your loader over the cars, it’s much more fun, and it’s a lot less time consuming!
Considering it takes about 3 hours to get a tire fixed and I’d have to get a tire fixed every time I went over a car I feel like it would be a much slower way
Oj oj i Sverige hade dessa gått för några tusen, kanske till och med 10 000:- Svenska kronor
hi to you do you have anyone ever want to buy any of your cars before they do get crush and happy thanksgiving to you and your family tom from door county wis.
I want a door of any car 😅😅
Bahahaha @7:50 🎃
How do you deal with titles and other legal aspects of the cars?
How much you want for that steering wheel off the mustang 2?
Silas do you hv any trucking company trailer signs?
I would think tires should be taking off cars trucks before mashing
Another loader precision day, have you ever bent or broken a fork?
I broke a fork while crushing a piece of farm equipment once
I know I keep asking but would you be willing to sell some of the car tags/license plates.? I would like to get several for some projects.
I already have a regular buyer for all of my embossed plates, sorry
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch are they buying all your tags? I'm only wanting around 30 for projects regular ones not the antique ones?
I see your only running L2 loader tires. What ply do you use?
16 ply on the front, whatever is available on the back. I believe 16 as well on this loader but some are just 12
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch I use 20ply L3 Industrial tread or mine tread. The bar tread is easier to pick up something that can flatten the tire we go to alot of yards that have concrete so we can't run anything less than an L3. I would use an L5 but then that would put the loader over height on our dropdeck
Make it a rat stang
Why don't these guys bringing in ready crushed stuff sell it direct to the shredder?
I love seeing the Chevrolet, GMC products getting crushed, in the junk yard. They were junk brand new from the dealership.GMC has not made a good car since 1972.
Please discuss more of your investing strategies
I’m taking a break from it for now. It was too hard to manage that, work full time, and still keep up with UA-cam. Stock trading is by far the most lucrative, but junkin and filming are what I enjoy the most.
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch Thanks for sharing. I'm looking toward self employment so I really enjoy your videos.
it would be cool if a truckasaurus come in and eat a car
👍🏻
Show us how flat you can make a car
Since you just Basiclly Scrap everything, What do You Do With The Fluids? Oil, Gas, Transmission etc. ??????????????????????
Give them away
@3:45 not sure where they put the other claw..... It's literally visible in the mirror of the truck, not sure if well placed dry humor or not though considering the normal honesty....lol, either way I enjoyed it.
That’s a magnet…
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch Those things can make cars Jump off a trailer,or pck up the trailer also, if your not carefull,
@@jeffclark2725 Not this one. Struggles to pick up anything over 800 lbs or so. I cringe when they unload me with it, and they won’t unload cars with it at all.
I hate watching perfectly good cars & trucks getting destroyed for their scrap value!!!!!
It is good to see the older GM square body trucks get crushed. I never owned one. The exploding dual fuel tanks in them were responsible for over 900 truck crash deaths in the US alone. I can't believe they put them OUTSIDE the frame rails. How stupid. Now that is customer care.
If you got people bringing in smashed cars like you do in your crusher, then why wouldn't they go to the claw and skip you
They’d lose money
that old cat is slow
JUST ME OR DOES IT SEEM LIKE THAT CRANE RUNNER IS SLOW AS HELL .....LOL
Well if he was going 90mph and broke my trailer they’d lose a customer and he’d lose a job 😆
