Who’s watching this because of the discontinuation of the last iPod in the lineup on May 10, 2022?

Well enough that there was a feeling among several in Apple upper management at the time that they should turn it from just a Mac accessory to one that could also work with Windows. Steve Jobs was strongly against it at first. Eventually his mind was changed and the iPod phenomena that we look back on became a reality.

Tim Cook and Jon Ive are sitting in the audience.
I remember when this thing came out and I honestly didn't get it.

I find it ironic that Steve has multiple songs by the Beatles despite that they tried to sue Apple multiple times for copyright infringement

    • @williamp6800

It was trademark infringement. The Beatles had a trademark on the word “Apple” in regard to music. Each time Apple took a further step into music, they were infringing on the Beatles trademark and needed to further negotiate with the Beatles to use it. Apple understood that. The only issue of contention was what the agreed upon price would be.

@KingOfQueensFreak88 Honestly, I don't think it's possible for anyone to know how big of a revolution the iPod would eventually become. They might have said "Dang, that's cool." But "Man, this will take the world by storm"? I'm not so sure :P

How many microsoft spies were in the audience? Steve the visionary innovator and Gates the copycat. Bill Gates, the original metoo movement.
