The Uptown Lite looks like a competitor for the Hobie iTrek 11.
Definitely could be. I think the key will be rudder performance. However, rudders are always something that can be upgraded. Hobie’s rudder on iTREK is amazing. With a good rudder system Vibe could definitely be a top contender in performance. The impulse drive is actually pretty dang good and I’ve never had an impulse drive failure….very reliable.
@@KayakDIY The problem with the iTreks is the price!
Thank you for the video. The Uptown looks appealing but concern is it will be like many inflatables which are essentially balloons on the water and really hard to control in wind. I have 2 inflatable SUP's which I have converted to fishing platforms that never get used because it's always windy along the Texas coast.
I own inflatable dock and inflatable paddle boards. I ran them over with a truck even! Dropstich inflatables like this Vibe Uptown and Cubera Lite are very durable. ua-cam.com/video/-CpZvBmTOJ4/v-deo.html
Did vibe say when they would be releasing the cubera 125 lite & a price on that as well?
Spoiler alert. I got a Cubera and Uptown lite. I ran over with truck, threw it off house roof, dragged it down my street behind truck, and then took vibe inflatable shark fishing. No leaks. 👊 Videos coming in 2 weeks. Videos already done and scheduled for about 2 weeks from now.

Bummer , thought maybe they would do a hard shell version of the Air 8.5
That would be a cool idea. If I get a chance to talk with Riot I will mention that request. Haven’t seen a rotomolded catamaran in a long time. A pedal rotomolded catamaran would be awesome. I recall the Biyak but that wasn’t pedal.
Yes it would be awesome , I sent them a message along time ago and got no response back so I moved on and continued searching for my 8 foot pedal kayak , ended up finding one not to far from me. It's the LSF brand , they call it the Freeive , made from HDPE / 60LBS / 34 inches wide , solid build , love it..
Did Vibe post any pricing on the iSUP/Yak?
The Uptown didn’t have “public” pricing. I heard rumor of $1599. It could be wrong though. If it is $1599 for pedal inflatable that would be very competitive . Not a lot of pedal inflatable kayaks.
@@KayakDIY Matt from Vibe confirmed that price range on FB, but didn't give an exact number. That would make it less than half a hobie 😁
@@KayakDIY very competitive since the iTrek 11 is an eye popping, wallet busting $2979
Unfortunately you cannot find it anywhere
I will talk to them and find out where people can get it or what is going on. They are planning on sending me some to review.
Quelch a fear for me on inflatables, how easy is it too put a hook in it?
Quite hard. I’ve dropped knives on the boards as well. I also live on saltwater and I have oysters that are razor sharp on my sea wall. I have an inflatable dock made of same material and it sits in the water 24/7 bouncing against the oysters.
I also ran a inflatable board over with my truck.
