Full game longplay of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3, the console version of the game, played on the og xbox. It was sometimes called a spin-off of Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, the pc version. Released in late 2003 for the xbox, and in 2004 for ps2 and gamecube consoles.

As it happens, big surprise, it's also the best of the console versions, due to best graphics, and the most features and best multiplayer. Although it is entirely missing the planning stage, and the briefings are simplified with only Clark included, no news wire, and no lovely Control lady, It uses pretty much all the same assets as the pc version, but has another bad guy, and some plot changes. It contains 16 missions, including the first mission training. And yes, one very shitty stealth mission is here too, as is tradition, the worst mission of them all, in every Rainbow Six game. :D
The console version of Rainbow Six 3 features similar mission locations and layouts to the PC version, but an entirely different plot. Rainbow responds to a series of terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in South America, apparently being conducted by Islamic terrorists sponsored by Saudi Arabia.
If not for the abhorrent, tragic controls that I had to deal with, these are consequences of not having an HDMI cable for xbox and not having inputlag-free video capture. Otherwise, it's mostly just much more linear Raven Shield, but with just a few missions missing or much changed. Graphics are pretty fine, the game looks actually pretty good, more problematic is definitely the framerate, unstable 30 fps + hella high input delay on my end = horrible time. But, the game itself is just... consolized, simplified Raven Shield. And Raven Shield was pretty great, 8,5/10. This one I'd give 8/10, since after Deus Ex Invisible War, and Thief Deadly Shadows, I'm a stern disliker of consolized experience.

i remember getting this game for my birthday and my dad being so excited at how realistic it looked. looking at it now kills my eyes, but i love the nostalgia!
It was more realistic vs older console like SNES N64 GENESIS...maybe DREAMCAST. But because of our 1080p 4K upscaller tv this 480p generation looks way bad today.
Fucking amazing experience. Iconic cutscene showing everything that rainbow is. Mission planning not being a feature and weapon loadout I was initially sore but made the characters individuals with signature gear. I would still prefer the former, being a big fan of Rogue and never getting around to playing through the whole of Raven Shield. A map maker would have been awesome today too.

I might have a lot of things to comment:
It was so nostalgia to see you play my childhood game. My Xbox is now having malfunction, but I hope in this decade I will have it fixed, requiring specific rare parts. When I was a little boy, I played it in low difficulty, but now I want to do some challenge. I started to play when I was five years old after my brother bought it. Here's what I remember about some maps:
Alpine Village:
It was such a memory. I really love the level design, so it was my favorite map. As five years old I used the weapons the mission recommended me like MP5A4, M203 40 RP. I don't know how to play properly during that time. As I was about to use M203 for the first time, I predicted or guessed it could make terrorist on fire and I was right. M203 RP burned a terrorist who screamed and I was laughing. Good old times. Eventually as I grew older, in this map, I discovered how to make terrorists surrender, but not all of them. I had to capture the terrorists in the specific area where he stand. To make them surrender, I used MK-23 to hit their waist area. One or two shot would do. It works for me. I captured like up to seven to eleven terrorists and have them gathered at the downstairs of the building where you reached first objective. There, I saved this part of the level, "tortured" them and load. Through "torture", by using M82 sniper rifle to execute terrorists through bullet penetration, WP grenade to burn them, and had my squad to use frag grenade to kill them. Something puzzled me like at this area at 23:15, how do cars go in or out? There's no gate for vehicles, only for people on foot. Lastly, for one time in my life, a terrorist performed a strange jump from the roof the the ground. That was a rare sight. For both this level and Mountain Highway, terrorists spoke Arabic and always wondered what they say. As of now I know one of them might say, "shurta", means police.
Mountain Highway:

Old City:
Hardest mission.
Penthouse:
I had a hard time on how to get past these terrorists for three to six months until I saw UA-cam walkthrough. I don't get why you can't shoot the terrorist with at least suppressor pistol. Was it because they'll find the body or it's because they'll notice the evidence like blood and bullet holes even you hide the body in real life?
Airport:
I had frustrating time to achieve this objective to get through Crespo before the hangar. So many enemies, so many machine gun fire. I think the reason you can't kill Crespo with bullets is because it's probably they want to cover up the assassination and make him as a victim to terrorist attack by exploding his plane otherwise autopsy will find an American or NATO bullet.
Overall good game, good performance. I think you haven't play this game for a long time since you put God cheats. Xbox version is better than PS2 in my opinion. I hope this Raven Shield gets remastered and have Xbox version remastered too.

To answer your comment about Ryan Salzgeber (nemesis8722), he didn't hate Eddie Price, but he got annoyed sometimes that he started to dislike Eddie Price, because he'd get in Ryan's way, but sometimes it was Ryan's fault, as he could've ordered Rainbow Team more, to move forward, or take a holding position, so they wouldn't get in Ryan's way too often. You'll notice it, that it's obvious in Ryan's Rainbow Six 3 & Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow videos. That's the A.I.'s programming for Rainbow Team. To counteract it, simply give orders to Rainbow Team more often, and be aware of spots where it's not ideal for Rainbow Team to follow you. A bug i might as well bring up, but i've already explained to Ryan Salzgeber (nemesis8722) is that if you are too far away from Rainbow Team, when they are planting a Breaching Charge on a Door, they will not blow the Breaching Charge, but open the Door. That will result in a failure, especially if the Terrorists spot you, and the enemy A.I. is programmed to kill a Hostage. My only criticism of this game, is the Penthouse mission. The game developers made us infiltrate this Terrorist infested Penthouse alone, and we don't get to have a Primary Weapon with us, but a Secondary Weapon, and two slots of Equipment. That's suicide. Even Ryan Salzgeber (nemesis8722) was frustrated by this mission, because of that. Still, an exciting mission, just like the others. For my final thing. Yes, these past games meant ALOT to many of us. That's why i have low expectations for new games and remastered versions of games today, and i'm not surprised if the majority of us experienced gamers give them low scores. This past console generation, has taught me to Not get excited for new games anymore.
@@LUCASTVR Hi, I remember you and your comments from Ryan's Old City video. I might be misinterpreted and you're actually right, he didn't hate Price, but just got annoyed by him and disliked him until he seemed to forgive him at the Meat Packing Plant (where Weber and Loiselle were incapacitated by frag grenade, leaving Price with him to the happy ending without Eddie messing around). In fact, every time you start the mission, you always start out with Price following behind you, followed by Loiselle, and Weber. Team following you does have a flaw; caught in the crossfire leads to friendly fire. And I know the bug you mentioned that caused Ryan to go rant and I experienced that before which is the problem of the teamwork when rescuing the hostage through breaching. AI programming wasn't that advanced at that time and Ryan should've realized that so he wouldn't have to shoot him out of punishment for the bug. I agree to give orders more often to the team but in strategic way.
My criticism for the game is they didn't give us the in-game universe reasons and more explanations. Like why: indeed only pistol for Penthouse, solo mission for Airport (solo for stealth portion, but it's too short and you'd have to kill about more than 50 terrorists alone.), and two man mission for Old City and Garage. But for the Penthouse, my guess is holding the primary weapon could not be suitable for solo stealth and recon portion, too heavy and be more silent and lightweight (even though for the others missions, you still can walk slowly with heavy M82 sniper in your hand) and the building is close quarter combat. Still Ubisoft should've add logical explanation, and Raven Shield didn't said why either in Operation Shattered Glass. Other criticism is the Claymore and Remote Charger seem useless as you have to manually explode it to kill the approaching enemy.
Yeah not all remastered game are that perfect, but if this game were, AI programming is what we wish it to be improved more for the sake of better gameplay including the breaching tactics (for example; "Flash and Clear", one opens the door and the other throws the Flashbang without one opens the door and flash).

@@ernestw2474 Very good and valid points you make 👍. If only the Claymore functioned similar to Call of Duty, and the Remote Charge could be planted on not just ground, but Doors, and Walls. I'm happy that someone like Ermacgerd Longplays made a longplay of both this game, and Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow, and not only on Recruit difficulty, but on Elite difficulty (highest difficulty) as he uses "Invincibility", after failed attempts. Just so it's not too easy for him, when the Terrorists spot him, and shoot instantly and barely pausing in-between firing. That's what becomes a challenge, where the Terrorists in specific missions will point and shoot at a Hostage, if they spot you. I don't blame him for using "Invincibility", especially in the Penthouse mission. Also, because so i can delete my Rainbow Six 3 & Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow videos, as i don't find them good anymore, now that Ermacgerd Longplays has included cutscenes, John Clark's mission briefings & mission debriefings. I'm keeping one Rainbow Six 3 video, as i do not use "Invincibility" (as i'm on Xbox Live and therefore not possible), and the difficulty is on Elite. It's the Penthouse mission, but i use a Primary Weapon (M4). You can use a Primary Weapon in the Penthouse mission on Xbox Live/System Link, but not in Campaign/Custom Mission. I should mention, that this game and Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow are a great example, of Special Forces. Whenever i think of both Rainbow Six 3 & Rainbow Six 3 Black Arrow, i'm also reminded of real life Special Forces, so we don't forget what they fight for, and fight against. It was amazing when I played while my ppa told me what to do in the game hahaha. Now I look at this gameplay and I can't help but be filled with nostalgia. Thanks for making me remember my childhood with your gameplay and thanks dad (rip) ✨

Small reminder, console versions of Rainbow Six 3 have completely different gameplay, and modified maps, it's basically not the same game at all! But, yeah, great games anyway, have fun on PC!

I couldn’t even get through the first snow level as a kid. Couldn’t even read or understand what was happening. The sound design is so cool to this day

Some problems with artificial intelligence the enemies. But I love this game.
Yea well, it's Ubisoft, they weren't known for their sophisticated AI, at no point in their whole history. Best job they did would probably be Splinter Cell games. :D

Yes, Ubisoft's old tactics: games are different based on the hardware they run on. Gamecube and Ps2 usually got worse/different versions than the Xbox. So yes, they are different, made by other subteams or whatever.

Hey you wont believe this one, for you Rainbow fans :) Ok so I was playing on veteran and I can't seem to sneek past this watching the soccer game! I tried every way and trust me he is too slick. So this is what I did: OK so I went back down the hall with the long rectangular opening that you can sort of see into the living room where the guy is watching the game, so I chuck a gas grenade long and high in his direction which breaks some glass and makes some racket. Then I hurry into crouch and sneek up to the end of the hall where he was watching the game, and he is GONE!!! I successfully diverted him into the kitchen!! Ok so this is uncharted territory, so I just slither under the stairs like a roach and just wait to see what he does. First he goes upstairs, then back into the kitchen, and then to my amazement he exits the kitchen through the back door and I then haul ass to the bedroom where I successfully bugged the phone! Don't get me wrong, of course I got busted maybe four times while waiting under the stairs, but now my bigger problem is getting from the phone to the computer. Trust me the game plays harder in Vet mode with no "God" crap like on this walk through, but it cool I understand you are making a helper tool for Rainbow players and so you really need sonlthing like "God Mode" to get you through expeditiously. My compliments to the creator of this video, it at least gives me some direction when the game starts beating me up too badly :)
Yeah, If I was playing by myself and not recording, I would play on highest difficulty, full trihard. But when I do record, I prefer it goes quickly, as much stress-free as possible. Noone wants to watch 6 hours video, 3 hour of which being deaths and reloads 😁

As far as I know, it doesn't work at all, on Xbox one or series consoles, Rainbow Six 3 is not compatible at all. :))

It's not an upgrade I think, it's a downgrade, to a simpler, more casual version of the game made specifically for the consoles. It is worth playing, absolutely, but it is not better version of the game than pc.

Lots of God mode on i think this game is too hard without it.
I actually have a longplay of this one again, with much better quality, on the Hard difficulty. Finally with no additional input lag due to recording method. And you know what? Still impossible with no god mode. Enemies just have fixed spawns, like 10 enemies in one moment, all around you, and your teammates just make it harded, they do not help. Soooo yea, it's completely bullshit. :))

I am afraid not. None of the classic Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six games on the xbox are available through backwards compatibility. Earliest are Rainbow Six Vegas 1&2 and GRAW. No Rainbow Six 3, or first Ghost Recons. :((

@@suoree Do note though, that the console version of Rainbow Six 3 is VERY different to the PC version, only the basic story is similar somewhat, but the gameplay is completely different, so I don't think you should compare this Xbox version to the PC like it's the same game :))

It's a Tom Clancy's game after all! All the high-tech stuff, plot lines, connected to each other sometimes and in some ways, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell!

Might be my video capture method be unsatisfactory, really. :D It did not look great, it did not look bad on my TV when I recorded this. But, as I said, this was captured on a 10 USD chinese video capture, with no HDMI OUT , which meant tons of input delay for me. :D

It's xbox version, you can't play it on PC. Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield is the PC version that you can play. Which version are you talking about? :))

It's a difference between consoles and PC basically. Plot is actually different in those versions, both versions have "similar" maps, except much more linear in console versions.There is no strategic phase in console versions. Overall, different plot, and console versions are much more casualized/made linear. :))

Because its not supported for Backwards Compatibility function, like many other EA and Ubisoft games from OG Xbox. Most likely the games wouldnt run well, or there were some licensing issues. :C

Console versions of Rainbow Six 3 are different from pc versions, quite radically different. :)
Also instead of two AI partners you could have up for five and chose their sex looks outfits armor color race hair eyes voice accent and more all around detail and they follow commands to a Tee you can see them harder than the enemies or balance it right on spot on with the enemies difficulty be at least have options but get rid of the aliens go back to the thugs vigilantes human ones military swat bad cops foreign enemies stop being on some Halo want to be ish halo and rainbow two completely different things entirely nothing in common with the franchises stay true to it and separate too
