I was just thinking that l could perhaps guess my way through ut, with my own (much bigger) measurements . . . I have a few Jessie Maed patterns, rib crop tops, that would help me with the waist stich counts/cast on numbers. I very much recommend her patterns, by the way. At least one has a narrower 1x1 rib section at the top of the back section that draws the back in so that it sits better.
I love the fact that you are very curious like myself which lead you on this journey😊 You have learn't alot along the way right? I learn't so much from previous mistakes. The end result is a true beauty..SO A MASSIVE WELL DONE HUN❤ You could always attempt it again and just reduce the size.. I personally stay away from super wash yarns as they tend to stretch and grow as if they have a mind of their own😊..❤
just wanted to say you are one of my favorite yters to watch now! i'm so glad i found your videos. in regards to your point on the wrist pain, i ended up with the elbow version of carpal tunnel (cubital tunnel?), had tingling in my little and ring fingers which was caused when i bent my arm for too long knitting, and this happened to me after only 8 months of knitting, the final project i made was a mftk pattern which had 4x4 ribbing i think, and that ended up giving me the bad elbows. i still get elbow pain now at night, if i sleep with my arms bent, and have spent time knitting, but took a good 6-9 months off knitting, and if i did knit i only did for about 20-30 minutes a day. i also have always suffered from neck pain, and shoulder pain which is made worse from knitting. lately, i got back into knitting but taking it slow, i make sure my posture is good (shoulders down, elbows at my sides and not sticking out), and tend to keep myself to 1 knitting podcast or tv show episode of knitting, and then take a couple hours break. i keep an ice pack in the freezer ready to go for my elbow and shoulder and have been able to just about finish a project which ive had on hold for almost a year!! i'm sure a doctor would tell me to give it up for good to avoid any more damage, but i do enjoy knitting as a hobby, and giving it up would be a lot for me. just make sure to take it easy, be mindful of your knitting posture and listen to your body when it tells you you've overworked it!!
also if you want to try other vintage knitting patterns, there's a bunch of free ones if you just google for them! i tried to crochet one once and it didn't go too well, same problems you had - vague, gauge is a suggestion, and sizing, but they certainly look nice and would be an interesting challenge 😁
thank you for taking the time to comment! i’m so sorry to hear about your elbow, that sucks and i hope it heals up 🫶 i totally agree with you - listening to your body so important and not something to be overlooked! congratulations on finally being able to finish your project 💗💫
It looks so cute on you! I'd say your adventurousness has paid off. One way you might fix the fit on the back is by adding some elastic thread to help it stay up. You can also try using a crochet slip stitch to add more structure.
As a fellow bling-bling lover when it comes to nails, I was very happy when you showed your design🥺 Also loooove your videos, it makes me want to knit more!
The top isn’t big for you, it’s bunching because the v-line should be lower, that’s why it was said to join the 2 straps. Either way you did a great job! Love it!!
thank you so much!! if you would like to try out making videos i think UA-cam shorts/tiktok is a great way to ease into it and still get to share your creations 💫 one of my most popular shorts doesn’t even have my face in it 😅 x
I have this set - the cables are fairly standard and they work perfectly fine. I've had no issues with quality - especially for the price!😊(Personally, I prefer to use 360 swivel stainless steel cables. The Drops needles are fully compatible with Knit Pro cables!)
would the straps be long enough to sew them to the back? so it would be a straight strap situation, boobs wouldn't fall out but it would hold the back up. just a thought.
25:00 if you don’t mind answering, are you like a math tutor as your profession? Also, if you are very sensitive to wool even super-wash, then maybe you should just go with acrylic and cotton Great video by the way!
i am an analyst :) you have a point lol, but i really like the properties of wool and i find ~some~ wool yarns not itchy so i took a gamble with this one! in future for this sort of top i think i would go for a cotton and wool blend 🥰
You’ve given me an uncontrollable urge to knit this for myself but without the pattern from hell lmao. It’s such a cute top!
Oh also I’ve had that same needle set for about 6ish years now and it’s still my main set! Definitely a worthwhile purchase imo

Loving your videos! Nice to watch along with as I knit endless rounds of stockinette for my current sweater xD
girl you are so smart!! you did a beautiful job as always
As a fellow bling-bling lover when it comes to nails, I was very happy when you showed your design🥺
Also loooove your videos, it makes me want to knit more!
A very similar, modern pattern that you could modify the straps to make a halter would be the ripple bralette by Jessie maed designs! 😉
ooh thank you!!
exactly what I needed
I have the same set of needles!! :) Love them

thank you!! good point i think you’re right - but then i would sacrifice a lot of the bust coverage. oh well 😅
If you’re interested in vintage knitting you should watch some Retro Claude.
thank you for the rec! i will look them up 🫶
@@natashacrawf seconding this, Claude has some really great vintage knits. same goes to @engineeringknits
Love your videos! Keep going on. ❤Would love to film my knitting journeys as well but still too shy for it 😅
thank you so much!! if you would like to try out making videos i think UA-cam shorts/tiktok is a great way to ease into it and still get to share your creations 💫 one of my most popular shorts doesn’t even have my face in it 😅 x
Imagine my surprise when I saw the drops needles. I've been looking for a review with no luck. May I get your opinion on the cord quality?
i’m afraid I haven’t used them yet so can’t say - but another commenter in this comments section has vouched for them if that helps any!💗

@@marieshark Thank you so much! I feel confident about purchasing it as my first set now, and I'll check out the swivel cable 😊

ooh interesting idea, I hadn’t considered that! i will try and pin it and see if that is possible/looks good 🫶
