In foothills 3 hives had no honey and 12 miles away I had to add another super because it was full of sourwood. Crazy how different areas are. Theres blooming sourwood in both places. Me and my wife both point at sourwood as we’re traveling lol. Thanks for updating us.
Tell your wife that I do the same thing when we are traveling. I point out all the Mimowsa’s and the Sourwood as we are going down the road lol. She said she likes your wax dipped boxes too.
Cori needs to chill out, my wife kept looking and me nodding or making sounds of approval. Cori I need you to be a beacon of joy towards beekeeping and be a positive influence on her toward beekeeping instead of making her feel like she is not alone in the struggles ot having a husband obsessed with bees.
Have you had any problems with robbing this year or have you done like me and put wets on from my taking honey in may to have supers which i think caused it. Might be best to let bees clean up in home yard. First year in 12 ive put wets back on hives instead of letting bees clean them first. Lost 18 of 40 to robbing. Kept comb on all but 2 that i was slow on and wax moth go them. Using certan and paromoth after freezing to save brood frames which are full of pillen . Trying ro wash some pollen out before i put up for next year but mold is a issue even after drying and putting certan on. Bad year for me in Darlington S.C on my end small time.
@@Ashby_Farms_NC i'm over near Huntsville in TN. we got 3 different sumacs. the winged sumac is the last one to bloom and is about done here . sumac is a dark nectar with a redish tint. sourwood just started

We let the home yard clean up the wet boxes. I only put dry boxes on
