I really like this video you made. I'm thinking of getting this same EATON UPS. Was researching it earlier today as possibility for our ESXi host with direct attached 24 drives and datastores.
Your rack has evolved over time like mine. I watched some of your newer videos with all Unifi equipment, different servers, etc. They replaced your odd mix of other equipment. I did the same - I think I'm on my maybe third or fourth iteration? I switched to Unifi networking gear last year and got rid of a bunch of old switches of different sizes, some not rack mounted, and what not.
I didn’t see my stuff making it to point of where it is now so a lot of my older videos are me just making due with the situation. The racks are ever evolving lol. Hopefully switching to Unifi has been worthwhile for you. It’s great how they have rackmount everything nowadays. Makes it very clean
Just a small pet peeve of mine - RJ45/8P8C is not the same as Ethernet. You can use the RJ45 plug for Ethernet, but you can also use it for RS485, DSL, ISDN, RS232, ATM and lots of others protocols. I cringed when you said "Serial to Ethernet". 😜 Not trying to be mean. Just educate. 👍
1.)Have you simulated a power outage? I want to pick one up, but and very unsure about the servers still shutting down during the switchover from the line to the battery. Could you PLEASE: 1.)Simulate a power outage 2.)Share anything else you have learned since this video Thank you for your considration.
Oh also, in a real power outage. The servers didn't turn off or anything. They ran for 20 minutes or so until I had to power them off because the power ended up being out for 4 hours. I will get a video or something up for you as soon as possible.
just bought one of these cant wait to install it thanks for the video
I’ve been very happy with mine. I liked it so much I bought 2!

Thanks! They are pretty good. I ended up buying a second 1 a couple years later.

Badass! Thanks! No harm no foul. May the cringe flow deep.

I think I can work that in for you. Unfortunately I’m headed out of town for two weeks so you may be waiting a bit :/

@TheRangeControl here you go. ua-cam.com/video/ojBZUdRPrF8/v-deo.html
wish you had posted more about the network setup and less about your super sweet home rack; title left me hoping we would see more about the UPS
I did :) ua-cam.com/video/qiXaY_KpaLY/v-deo.html
damn, we keep buying the same stuff.. :) If you need help getting the UPS data on grafana let me know. I have my setup and working.
xKraZTV I would love to! I’ve been eyeballing grafana harder than my cute cousin.
SPX Labs how can I contact you? If you could possibly send me a pm I'll definitely get in contact.
xKraZTV multiple ways, spxlabs.com/contact, UA-cam Channel>About , uh if either of those don’t work we will figure something else out.
Hey guy, just wanted to follow up with you about grafana for the UPS. Any pro tips you would like to share?
Did this thing have a regular 110 plug?
It has a normal NEMA 5-15P 120 volt plug.
my eaton group 1 and group 2 off, and I cant make that group to on again, even I cant click it, what should I do?
Factory reset the battery
Was this the equipment you bought in exchange for free lipstick?
Monica McMahan nope, it was a MacBook Pro.
Neat!!
