I saw this video. And did it to my dump with leaf vac set up
“The rad-iator” lol hilarious.
Good tips!
Gentlemen, this has got to be the smartest damn design I have ever seen for a leaf loader!
I used to run a woodchipper for a city and I always wanted to get a debris loader for the fall. This setup would make an arborist truck much more versatile for leaf cleanup.
I must admit, the ignition looks a little tight under the dump box, but I'm sure some clever manufacturer will make a hydraulic/pto powered unit that runs off the truck itself.
Excellent work, I would love to see it in action.
I like the PVC idea. May just use a 90 and create a box with pvc.
That setup is absolutely brilliant! You guys are very smart! Now come down to Atlanta and help me with all these leaf jobs, please.
I love how excited you guys are about this stuff. Yall are the kind of guys landscapers need access to
Thanks!
I like it thanks for sharing those productive ideas
Ingenious thank you
Just another reason I need a dump truck. I love my little wonder!
Great video. I wish you made it two years ago. I spent $1,000 to mount it on the front minute mount plow. I am going to use the pvc pipes for the box this year though
All fords brings those brackets for a black box for tools. This is a good idea I will mount mines like this
Great idea basically same concept as the walker when u lift the e Catcher up. Real clean setup bro love it. Don’t have to unhook trailer or anything
Thanks I appreciate it!
I really need to buy a dump truck so that I can do it that way haha. Awesome setup guys!
Great Stuff! The bed lowering the chute on to the blower is genius!
awesome! that helped me out love the pic idea
We ended up doing this with a 30 yard single axel dump truck. Best thing ever. Just kinda sucks cutting a hole in the bed but it works the best
Great video I like how you’re always thinking ahead. Also, improving your prior set up. It’s all about making things easier and safer. You guys are awesome.
Hey thanks for the comment. It’s all about improvement and making the work and setups easier!
First truck I've seen done this way. Good job bro.
Very good video I’m glad you went out of the box and did it your way
Beautiful it’s great idea all together in one truck 👍👍👍👍👍
I was contemplating doing this on my truck..... I even had it there on a jack just looking at how it would fit etc.... I was always thinking of mounting it to the dump body itself not the frame and it would go up with it, but that made the gas tank hard to access etc, I just ended up going on top and making my leaf box a little smaller. Having it mounted to the frame allows access for fueling etc.... I like the idea.... May go this route next season. I have had every setup you can imagine, trailer, tongue dump trailer back front side etc, front of truck, customer gates all kinds of things and at no point did I consider it being lover and the hose being less angle for better clog risk. Good vid guys
Thank you! Appreciate the comment!
Great video cool leaf setup
Thanks !
Great set up!
Having a curtain over the top is smart and wise, volume not weight ! You now have me thinking.
Great idea I’ll do this next year . For years I used the hitch swing for the Fradan leaf vacuum I welded an extra receiver on the dump truck and I would have to swing it open to clear the dump when it dumps hard to explain but it’s a big pain in the ass . Been doing it for 20 years Great video
nice video clever idea
Nice rig !
Great video bro keep up the great work
Genius
Bueno señor buena idea
Really well done
Thank you!
Very informative video! Thanks for going through your set up for tips and tricks. I learned billy goat uses a polymer liner and little wonder uses a steel liner for their blower housing. How is it wearing and have you had to replace it yet? Thanks and keep up the good work.
I notice you bungee it to the outside of your doors. if you take bungee cords that have the plastic ball on them stick them through the eyehook you can actually put your tarp on the inside of your door pull it down before you close the door and hook it to the bottom of the truck bed and then close the door. that's the exact same way I do it on my dump trailer.then it keeps the tarp on the inside you don't have anything blowing out works great I just wish I could set my dump trailer up with the leaf vac attached to it like you guys do on your truck that's awesome
Best set up is something with at least 25 or 30 hp mounted on a trailer so you can have your mowers / one man show if need be. Sucks not having access to a mower on big yards /windy days/long grass.
Your truck frame looks like Swiss cheese
wonderful work gentlemen !! does the leaf sucker also shred ?
👍
Very passionate about y’all’s work .
¿ Does the leaf vacuum also shred the leaves ?
I do it by hand and hauling a tarp full of leaves and walk em into my 20 ‘x4’ walls and I use trampoline covers as my tarps . As I walk into the trailer I’m compacting the leaves .
Great exercise but man I’m gonna have to save to buy a dump trailer or dump truck.
Thanks for the useful video .’
PS , did either one of y’all serve in the military?
Great videos guys where did you guys get that tarp and what’s the size?
Awesome video! What size tarp do you use for your setup? Do you have a link?
Make me get me one good set up
I have a really weird question. Can you tell me how tall from the ground the side of the truck is? I really want a landscape body on a 550 7.3 as well but not sure if I’d be able to dump into it. Love the setup btw, definitely the most efficient
The bottom of the dump body like where the floor is roughly 4ft. It’ll depend on the springs, tires, which exact body you get etc. And then the sides go up about another 4ft
@@ziggybrothers awesome thanks man.
Did the dump bed come with the truck or was it converted
Do you by chance know the part number for the discharge extension?? My dealer can’t seem to find it and we need one!
You don't wanna block the "RATiator"
judging from all the holes in that trucks frames and what you do over time that frame is going to be damaged sooner than later. i would seriously consider getting some c channel or at the very least a plate bar extending atleast a foot or two past all those frame mounting holes. that's way too much steel removed from the frame for what reason i don't know looks like the frame was made for a different body style and got changed atleast 3 times.
i clicked on the thumb nail because what i saw instantly i knew it was a great set up for what you are doing and love the 1 ton dumper box leaf trucks especially using the side storage box racks.
those pipe plug caps don't need to be metal. you already have yours but for any one else they can just insert the pvc ones in. how often does that 1" pvc pipe break on you in the middle of fall clean up season? also as a cdl driver keep your roof under 10'6" you'll hardly ever have a problem. 11'6" is pretty much standard, but your in old arse new england and people were only 4'6" back when alot of that 400-600 year old stuff was made
Did you know that you can buy a street sweeper that can do the same thing and suck out the drains and still be able to clean the parking lot. There's a side mount for the hose. Most street sweepers can drive over your yard. I know because I drove one for 18 years
Vac setup is nice but no way id trust the pvc mounts to last
I’d love to see a electric motor driving the fan/blower running directly off the trucks 12v system, You may need an additional battery in series between the alternator and blower motor.
That’s a very interesting idea actually, I like it
How is the dust when you do it like this?
We are doing it like this because of the cost of the lumber.
Very minimal. On super dry days a little dust will come through the tarp but it’s negligent really
Does this machine shred the leaves? can this machine handle twigs?
Small twigs for this one. They will get clogged if they are too big. We like ideally dry and fluffy leaves for this loader
That would be sick if it was like 30 hp
I never understood why vehicle makers drill out all kinds of holes in the frames of vehicles. I mean look at how many holes are in your frame just between the 2 mounting brackets 🤔
Why didn't you weld a flat on the parts you already had that would been just as easy
Please call it leave vacuum system not a sucker.
Sure no problem
Please call it a debris loader not a vacuum system.
Please dont refer to it as it, it is a they
Throw them and buy again next year… you are rich 😳
Make another video and show it working real hard. Thanks.
I can have mine done with pvc and tarps on my dump trailer with the little wonder and as soon as I hit interstate speeds the whole set up breaks and all the leaves blow out on the way home and lots of broken pvc parts to clean up 😮
