    "it may be appropriate to discuss the drama, that's the currency of the conversation, but it's just the currency. What is really being exchanged has nothing to do with the drama" Thank you so much, I needed to hear this.

    When I felt the full blast of meditation practice, this flowed well without effort but after some years it felt forced and exhausting from sheer giving. Listening to this now, I can see that one has to bring this in consciously and there is not alot to do. Less to fix and allowing feelings of suffering to flow through. This short video is potent and as always Rupert’s words reach their mark. Practice is also a commitment as well.

    One of the most difficult aspects at times , Does being totally present when someone is complaining and heavily into their drama mean not responding verbally? I can tell when people are wanting sympathy or to be agreed with concerning their story and its particularly hard when it is family members for some reason.

      As he said, all that is needed to ascertain is whether or not there is some rejection there (your ego).

    His words have been my experience. If everyone is One (Consciousness), How then can you be Consciousness but everyone else are “persons” or “ego?”
    You’re just perpetuating the idea of personhood in your own mind. Thus you still believe in ego.

    • @Misslotusification

      There are different levels of consciousness tho', we're more or less egoic, more or less burdened by conditioning, until total realisation of the shared Oneness.

    You can still say No to people's behavior on a superficial impersonal level. That is a management technique these days - correct the behavior not the 'person'. If you try to correct as 'person' to 'person' it just creates more trouble. There are a lot of issues such as privatizing the NHS, wage disputes, benefit cuts leading to suicides, big corporation tax evasion,factory farming and global warming which require a correction in 'persons' obtuse greedy behavior Wonder how Rupert sees Advaita fits into the protest movement. I did see a lot of Hindus on Vegan demonstration in Canada. It was sad to hear that the Hare Krishna Cow(seen at Glastonbury) had to be killed by feudal mandate even though there was nothing wrong with it.

      You can. See Jennifer Hadley's Finding Freedom classes coming up. ACIM is non-dual teaching (and it isn't heavy on that). It's about learning how to tell ego 'I am reprogramming my brain! I am doing it!'

      Not god. God just is, she does not do anything.
      It's the sense of being a person created by the feeling of separation and the belief in its validity that is creating all the drama. The face of the world as we perceive it today is the reflection of just that - our feeling of being a separate self and the actions that arise from sich a belief. 😘 have

      @@edzardpiltz6348 I love this answer. It seems you have a good grasp on these concepts. Rupert suggest to stay present during such situations with others. Even if they are being rude to you. Does this mean not responding to that at all or I guess my question is what would be an appropriate response based on these principles. How do you stay present? Thank you!!

    • @edzardpiltz6348
      @edzardpiltz6348 5 років тому +1

      @@Delgado-ot4lq , there is nothing you can do, because there is no one who could do anything. But if it happens t the fee will be the realisation that all there is, are senseperceptions (seeing, hearing, touch and bodily sensations) as well as thoughts and feelings arising in consciousness. But where in all that is the "I"? The "I" itself is nothing but a concept. A bundle of thoughts that refers to a certain bodily form and sensations w who which arise altogether in consciousness.
      If you believe that someone other than you is treating you rudely, that is a misperception and delusion. You have taken yourself again for the body and a separate self and not for that consciousness that you are. But don't take my word for it. Go to your own experience and see if it is true.
      But if you are looking for a more worldly method for staying present, you could try meditation. But just try to follow your breath for ten inhale-/exhalations and you will see that you can't do it without your mind wondering if again creating the delusion of a separate self. The reason why you can't do it is because there is no-one, no self who could ever do anything. Everything is happening in and by itself. Seeing that is liberation. 😘
