  • Love theme from Flight of the Phoenix by The Brass Ring on the Dunhill label, played on the Pioneer turntable through the Yamaha AV receiver with direct connection. Stanton magnetic cartridge in a Sansui head shell. Very bright and crisp sound. Enjoy!

I wish I have the money to have a radio station to play this kind of music (I have thousand of records of this beautiful era) and all the good music from the 60's.
Today's oldies stations don't know what they are playing, they play oldies but just some good ones
they work in the radio station because they need a job, not because they know MUSIC

When I moved to Waco, Texas from Jackson Ms. in 67 I worked for a TV station. The engineer had a new SS396 with a Pioneer 8 track player . He had some Brass Ring and Herb Alpert tapes and I fell in love with the sound. radio I have today. I love records and I have probably over a thousand albums and several thousand 45's. At 61 years I love music I grew up with. I am glad you enjoyed the sound and sight. I will be putting up more soon. I have restored several stereo consoles.

I always liked this cut. The sixties always seemed to have 2 or 3 instrumentals that charted & did quite well every yr. That's one of the many things that I miss from the Top 40 scene during "our time." And here I am 51 yrs. later from when this was a very successful hit in 1966, still enjoying it every bit as much as I did as a 12 yr. old!

Ah, sweet memories of youth.I was 18 when this movie and song came out.I had forgotten all about ths until recently when I heard for the first time in years. I was wondering why it evoked a sense of nostalgia in me until I found out about the title.

I grew up in the 1960s when this song became famous. In a way it is a unique type of instrumental song where as one carefully listens to the music, famed instrumental patterns with 3 other instrumental groups of the 1960s: Bill Black's Combo, Billy Vaughan & his Orchestra, & Herb Alpert and the TJB can be recognized as the song progresses.

Don't know which came first, the LP or 45, but the label on the 45 read "The Phoenix Love Theme (Senza Fine)," and that was the billing that actually charted. Never knew it was from a movie until I saw postings on YT. To the best that I can tell, the 45 and LP recordings are identical.

The turntable base sits a good inch above the receiver top. This receiver is running at a very low power not even driving speakers rather the headphone output into the computer. It never even gets warm.

Not "trailerboy" it's trailboyus66: as in the old road bed that the origional Route 66 followed down through Missouri.
Believe it or not allot of the old Ozark-Madonna trail is still driveable. It follows ridge tops and creeks as well as the railroad follows it. Re Newburg Mo. and the old butterfield route as well as the old wire trail.
As for the song I was so happy to find a song that I could only remember the melody to what a Jewel to find.
It KTTR in the 60's all over again.

ABBCCC86: Yes, the music of the past is MUCH better than today's music. I don't listen to anything recorded after 1979, mainly because the vast majority of it sucks. There's no way anyone can compare the music of the past 30 years to that of the 1955 to 1979 era.
