Listen man, never stop making UA-cam videos. Your videos always make my day.
Thanks for watching - just tossing up videos from time to time for fun now :)
I love how the disk holder knob is on Spock's knob lol
Useful!
😂😂😂
You're right the steelbooks are a repacking of the first time the series was put on blu-ray which I have. Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for watching - I gotta find some time to dive back into these!
Just bought this set on Amazon for $39.49, absolutely worth the price, it’s kinda unreal
@@PurpleStormProductions thanks for watching - yes that’s a great price!
I'm a Star Wars guy myself, however I've always wanted to watch every Star Trek series from start to the newest stuff got this set on sale for $45 and this will be the 100th steel books in my collection. I used to watch reruns as well when I was younger, I just never watched Trek from start to finish I'm excited!
thx for watching - classic Trek is fun and silly! I believe the Trek Enterprise blu-ray set is currently on sale at amazon so check that out if you plan to get em all!
My question is are the episodes in order or do you still have to change out the discs if you want to watch them in order?
Like suppose for example episode 4 of season 1 is on disc 5
these Trek sets are usually in order unless you get one of the collections that have only select episodes
Are both versions of the episodes (enhanced CGI or original special effects) in HD?
Thanks for watching - it's the same discs as released before - remastered versions of both the enhanced or original so you can pick and chose tho they did such a nice job with the new effects I couldn't see going back!
This should of been done for a 4k release i would of brought it as i have already got this in the blu ray boxset and i don't want to get it again just because of the steel book but they do look very nicely done and i like how the made a divider so the steel book don't get scratched when in the box together
I'm with you -- same old discs but I never purchased the set before and the packaging was so nice!
Stacking the disks is a bad idea. Good way for them to get scratched. I'm disappointed that there isn't an upgrade in video-quality, which is the most important part.
I'm with you -- it's not my pref way to have discs organized!
Blurays are a lot harder to scratch. They have protective layers, unlike dvds.
Have they improved the audio and image or is this the same as what was released like a decade ago.
I haven't watched yet but think it's the same discs from the remastered sets mostly just the packaging is new.
hey!! can you tell me how was the video and sound quality once tested?
Sure- I haven't watched them yet but I believe they are the same discs previously releases just new packaging
Does it give the options of cgi version and the original?
Thanks for watching - yes, these are the original Blu-ray just packaging different so you can switch back and forth between the enhanced viewing or original.
Nice ! Do we have choice between versions or is it only the remastered version ?
Thanks for watching - On the Blu-rays you have a choice between episodes with original FX or what is on the disc called "enhanced" FX.
@@CoinOpTV Oh, thank you for your answer ! Have a nice one.
need to pause and get a good shot of the contents list, cuz not all BD sets are the same.
Thanks for watching -- I shot this in 4K so hopefully the paused image was clean enough to see everything!
@@CoinOpTV You said clearly in the video no difference except steel case and another site said no difference between sets. Only a vague comment on Amz. I juat did not catch that 1st time hearing.
Looks beautiful, but I’m really sick of Paramount using that really flimsy cardboard for their box sets rather than using a stronger material. This set reminds me of that Indiana Jones steelbook set of the four movies. The only set where they used a stronger material was for the first four Star Trek movies.
Thanks for watching -- yes coulda had some thicker box stuff for sure
Are the episodes still in black-and-white or did they add color for the episodes please comment I need an answer
Star Trek has always been in color!
Stacked steelbooks are the drizzling sh&$s for storage. I cringed watching them come out.
This set is worthless 😔 who wants to stack discs lol steel books are fine for movies not for my star trek collection
Thanks for watching - it does take up extra space on the movie shelf!
Stacked discs here or the cheap plastic clamshell case where they sometimes fall out. This is the dilemma I am currently having on which version to buy...
How can anyone prefer tng over the original. Baffling. Original is timeless.
Thanks for watching - while TOS has its charm..... TNG is more my pref jam.
Timeless yes….but corny as hell and very fake.
@@Digikidthevoiceofreason I live Trek up til 2016, but isn't it all fake?
I really have a soft spot in my heart for TOS. Way back when I was in elementary school in the mid 1970s, I’d get off the school bus every afternoon and watch Star Trek. The show was captivating, including the bad episodes like Spock’s Brain.
TOS, TNG, DS9 are all great to me. Voyager wasn't bad either. Still need to see Enterprise but that is as far as I will ever go.
Ugh the outer case is paper. Talk about cheap! Also, I wish they'd finally encode the series in AVC not VC-1, like come on! The good thing I'll say is that the original series still looks solid for 2009 discs, which is more than can be said for the absolute horrendous 2009 Star Trek movie blurays. Seriously those are ugly as Xenomorph. Thank goodness they got FANTASTIC 4K (and remastered blurays) this year . . . except 5 and 6. And Generations.
Thanks for watching -- hoping the rest Trek 4K movies eventually come out!
Saw these at Walfart. Tempting.
I find the TOS too dramatic and corny and fake. TNG and all the others EXCEPT FOR STD do it right. However to each their own I guess.
Thanks for the video!!!
