Hei I’m a pro kick-boxer heavyweight from Spain , I would like to get an online training program , is that possible?
Your channel has everything anyone could need to train like a badass. My respect and most appretiation for all of your work, Phil. You are the best, man! 👊
Impressive. Explained in a calm, simple manner that was easy to understand. Makes me comfortable that i could do that.
Holy shit this was so informative why don't you have like a million subs yet? Ppl are sleeping on you man straight up.
I dont understand why itis so underrated in mma. Mobility is a must have in whatever you do. Your first opponent is your body. If your muscles are tight you cant generate more power.
If they are tight you will have to contract other muscles to compensate and get tired easier. Finally if your shoulders lean forward they prevent you from spreading your chest and breathing properly. All of that is from my personnal experience. My coaches never told me about that eventhough they are on highevel competition.
Thank you for the insight. Good comment. :)
The best strength and conditioning coach on UA-cam! Thanks Phil.
Your training videos have turned me from relatively healthy to a fkin monster!!! I can't thank you enough, Coach Phil!!!! RESPECT.
Really? Did you make gains ?!
@@saihinadir Yes brother; I lost ten pounds of fat and gained it all back in muscle mass, almost doubled my cardio resistance and have NOT had an injury in four.months of extreme conditioning
Thank you very much for all the quality videos and advices you are giving us. You are building a legacy! ❤👍
1 of the most important video ...high kicks can damage spine if we are not conditioned properly
Thanx phil
My right kicks are so fluid, but my left kicks feel like my knee cant be lifted above thighs 😂
using a PVC pipe as a foam roller is the best pain you can feel lol
Ouch that feels so good
Man U got no idea how long I’ve been lookin for a video like this.... much love
wow so thank you !!!
thank you for uplading without forgetting. thank you so much!!
Even if you are a very strong man. You are a real warrior with your muscle stretch relaxation relaxation movements and your exemplary behavior. ( Good Job Bro God Bless You)... #real #hero #strongestman #punisher
Great timing, its my streching day today and my aim is to kick higher so thanks man. Good content as always.
The legend phill---
mysterious universe. this came out as im treating the muscles mentioned.
Gosh, what went wrong?
Very practical thank you very much
Thanks for that video... I need it 🙏
Hey Phil
This is a brilliant channel
Brilliant work 🙏🥊
Thanks for sharing
Thanks coach phil 👍
Good information, great demonstrating. Big thanks.
Simply brilliant video, thank you Coach !
in my opinion the point is to succed doing a full split because that is like the closest thing of a high kick. If you can do a full split then you can kick high.
Nt really it just means one can stretch out ones legs while standing on one foot maybe?to perform an effective high round house for example..lots of movement plus twisting the hip into it while driving the leg forward rotating on the back leg and reaching to hit ones target are some of the points to look at before doing the splits can be compared to actually performing this kick...so I wudnt agree with your point although I can understand why you say this.. it does resemble the final let's say stance of a high kick...but to generate that kick with power is what is behind it...this would need to be practiced alot to effectively achieve the desired effect...nt to just be able to just do the splits means you could achieve it👍
Whats Up I agree with many of your points with regards to the high roundhouse kick. Kicking power comes from the ground up and with strong emphasis on hip rotation and strong a strong core to keep the leg up high.
Although, I would say executing an axe kick is much more similar to a front split in many ways. You do not necessarily need to be able to perform the full split to be able to do this kick, however you do need to have a reasonable amount of flexibility for range of motion.
@@LordFarquaad35 yes I agree with you👍and a very effective kick wen performed correctly...pure flexibility is needed to achieve this kick
When I'm training muay Thai it's always my glute that cramps up
Very knowledgeable trainer
Thanks Phil!
Awesome content! Thank you coach
Awesome coach
Awesome video brother. Thank you
Great stuff! I used to be able to kick when I still did taekwondo and later muay thai, but switched to boxing since my punching was shit. Now I reckon some of this is lacking!
Man is it hard to be a complete fighter !
I am watching your all videos. Thank you so much, I love you Daru !! :)
Very helpful, thanks Coach.
Master Daru
Thank You🙏
Dropping them knowledge bombs coach Daru, thanks for sharing brother 👊
this is what i needed, thanks phil!
Thanks alot
Thank you Phil, you're the man.
I’ve been wondering how to get higher kicks! Thanks for the video 🙏 I’m not a fighter, but nice kicks just look sweet.
Thanks man. Great stuff. I'm gonna try this.
A much needed video with good biomechanical awareness bro. What's your view on how/where to structure weight training surrounding a mobility workout? Would you dedicate a separate day or combine the two? It's something I feel is open to debate!
Ashley Bryant I’ll do a video on it but true mobility training needs to be separated
I'll look forward to it Sir.
When are you going to open a gym in Las Vegas????
FANTASTIC!
What do you think about shadowboxing with weights? Does it improve punching power in any case? What is it good for? Is it good for anything?
Greetings from Germany 👊
Dennis Huskic I’ve done videos on this in the past bands will do more for your punching speed then negative force displacement of a dumbbell it distorts mechanics and damages the joints
it just works for shoulder endurance not power or speed, but there are better ways to train that, like Phil mentioned said this excercise have negative consequences
I totally dig your vids.
Phil dude you make the best content with goals we like, bravo
Do you think stretching makes your legs weaker or lose muscles or anything and I also saw a video talking about dynamic stretching is better for power because static makes it relaxed and weaker
Dynamic one is better for warmups, not increasing range of motion.
Very good 🔴
God bless ya bro..
masterful , truly appreciated
Thank you sir. I’m 56 years old A bit of a belly. But strong for my age what would you recommend me ? I’m left handed so when I kick with my right leg. It feels so weak
Hey Phil, awesome vid as always. Just wondering how else you would replicate the same stretch as the one demonstrated with the reverse hyper machine? Thanks!
cuando hece vídeos en español va a ser de mucha ayuda
Do you think the massage gun is a good substitute for the foam rolling on the glute/ hamstring portion?
Awesome content as always 👍 thanks phil
#daruStrong
Hey Coach Phil - do you think it would be ok to go through this mobility routine 5-6 days per week? Thanks for all you do.
IronNgardens yes you could
Phil in this house...❤❤👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much Phill, another great lesson for MMA, Just want to know if i can do this routine if i have false leg discrepancy due to hip imbalance (pelvic tilt)👍💎💎💎
Cold Play this will allow you to increase the functional movement of the entire hip capsule. Thanks for the support
@@PhilDaruStrong Is it possible to be fully rehabilitated from leg discrepancy (1/2 inches), 💎I believe in your knowledge.
My TFL is so dense i could check kicks with it, I really need to work on that muscle
When kicking, is there a hip adduction component?
Can u give some instruction for strong neck/chin
You read my mind!
My guru phil daru
Hey man, any reason why you didn't include dynamic stretches? For me compared to static stretches and mobility excercises they have had by far the biggest impact on my high kicking abilities. Thanks for the video.
Jimmie S. I was also wondering the same thing. Generally speaking a lot of traditional martial arts schools particularly karate and taekwondo place emphasis on dynamic as wells as static stretching such as front and side splits to gain/maintain flexibility for high kicks. I’ve been training taekwondo for over 12 years and have developed strong high kicks through regular static and dynamic stretches. When I made the move to kickboxing, the gym that I trained in almost did not place any emphasis on this kind of stretching at all and hence this resulted in a lot of the students having developed poor kicking techniques. That’s not to say every kickboxing or MMA gyms operate the same way but just what I personally experienced. Anyway, would be interesting to hear some else’s view on this.
Max was here
It's amazing that this content is available to us free of charge.
This is epic, thanks! One question tho, all these exercises you said to do for 2mins, did you mean 1min each side or 2 min each side ? Thanks in advance!
Coach, exercise for power low kick?
Dope! Been waiting for some mobility methods from you!
Use this mobility after or before trening ?
should i warm up before i do this routine?
Do I have to warmup first? Can I do it everyday
Great work Coach!!!
Hey Phil would you say higher kicking flexibility and guard flexibility for bjj go hand in hand?
I think so, higher flexibility improves everything
Hi Phil, do you suggest to do this routine BEFORE a "regular" mma workout?
I would say yes from my understanding because this is to allow for greater range of motion during practice so I would think you would do this after your strength work but before skill work well from what I can understand
Cardio's
I thought the AUDIO WAS TIGHT!!!! Great phone to record....
Anyone got opinions on using Oly lifts or variations for BJJ/MMA I’m newly subscribed and noticing that our coach her doesn’t seem to favour them (from what I’ve seen)
Chester South it’s not that I don’t favor them from experience it’s too technically demanding requiring a longer time to master a movement that takes them far away from specificity of skills training. Also most of the fighters are too beat up in the joints to allow for those movements to happen under load. We have to give the athlete the best opportunity to get physically capable of doing their sport with the most safest but yet effective exercises.
Phil Daru Thanks so much man, really appreciate the reply. I’ve spent a long time sucking at power cleans despite having pretty solid numbers in the Main movement patterns. If they’re not essential to improving my grappling I’ll likely switch out for some box jump variations I’ve seen you use in other videos. Keep doing your awesome work bro
Sports massage, yes painfull, yes annoying, but it's the best thing for you, then stretch,
What about using a massage gun instead of foam roller
🤙🤙🤙
How to build strong kicks ?
Peter Memorex check my video playlist
Nice Videos Phil can you pls make with german Caption? Thank You sir for every day Instructions Love & Respect from Germany(L)
Oh we just gonna trim the beard huh

Because he doesn't coach Colby he used a different s and c coach
The Psoas goes from the stomach to the back? The Psoas connects the femur (bone in your thigh) to the lumbar spine (lower back). Please make accurate statements.
locodocowakaboko don’t misinterpret what I’m saying that it attaches to the spine down through to the femur but what I was trying to state is that it’s a deep muscle that attaches to the lumbar.. sorry for the confusion
@@PhilDaruStrong all good Phil, thanks for clarifying, i didn't mean to sound harsh :-) great videos and work of yours. Appreciate that you are sharing your knowledge.
Hey Phil, its been a while since I saw your videos... man you lost weight ! Or is it just me ?
I almost unsubscribed because this is a little ridiculous for kicking I used to be in taekwondo
Mike Hunt coming from a taekwondo background myself I was also a bit bemused myself at first after watching this video. However he does provide some good valuable points with regards to hip rotation and stretching/loosening of the adductors. I guess we need to take into consideration that his views are coming from an MMA background, not from a singular art like karate or taekwondo. Therefore style and training methods are slightly different.
This is FUCKING DOOLE
This is not how you get higher kicks, you might be good at strength training but you lack knowledge when it comes to kicking, next time bring a specialist.
