You confirmed my thoughts on this line of shoes. I have the 25's and have over 350 miles on them so far. I almost gave up on it and returned it after the first few runs because I didn't like how it felt. But then during a run I thought, "These shoes actually feel pretty good." After that they truly became my go-to daily run shoes. 👂
Glad to hear you stuck with them! Sometimes shoes need a little time to really break-in and feel good! It never takes long so it’s worth putting in a bit of time before deciding! 👊🏽
👂 the Wave Rider 21 was my first running shoe and I've had 2 pairs of Wave Skys since. While, I've moved over to Saucony for my shoes, Mizuno has a special place in my heart and I love the look of their current line up.
Mizuno sure knows how to make a great shoe! Thanks for watching!
I buy it today...My foot is wide and muzino is perfect for flat foot..I feel comfortable in muzino 26 wave rider..Tx for review. .Regards from Croatia Rijeka.
Thanks for watching and enjoy your new Wave Riders! They’re going to be great shoes for you and will last a long time! 👊🏽
I ran in Wave Rider 23. They are pretty durable shoes but I had felt the lack of forefoot cushion in longer runs. One of the few that still maintains 12 mm drop. Even ASICS Nimbus that had been traditionally 10 mm drop lost 2mm drop in Nimbus 25 👂
I didn’t run in the WR23, but I didn’t experienced any lack of cushion in these. That’s good to know about the Nimbus 25; I hadn’t seen any details or watched anything on them, although it seems like they’re a hit with the reviewers based on how many people put out content about them!
👂I'm using the 25 in my rotation. i like the change of firmness compared to my novablast 2 & 3 which are also part of my daily trainer rotation. I run 5 times a week and do use the same pair twice.
Thanks for the 👂 and it’s good to mix up the firmness of our shoes! 👊🏽
👂I'm a forefoot striker but I've always liked the touch of firmness from Mizuno shoes. 12mm is pretty steep but I think I'll still give it a go.
This is great for a daily trainer and if you’re looking for something a little faster you should check out the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Flash!
Thanks for the 👂!
I want a heavy shoe because it will act kinda like an ankle weight and when I race I will have a light shoe so I will feel fast so this is actually very good for me.
Yep, I get it! There is a lot to be said for training heavy and racing light! 👊🏽
HI Matt, at the start of my running journey about 3 years ago, I went to a running shop and the only shoe that felt right was a Mizuno Ultima (12 I think). It just fitted perfectly so I did about 600km in those, then went into a pair of Wave Rider 24s, did about 600km in those too, they were a bit firm I'd say, occasionally suffered from some heel pain after some longer runs. Then I moved on to WR25s, they were much softer but I didn't have any heel pain but felt they didn't have any propulsion in them, a bit slow. I had to return them recently as they were cracking slightly in the sole. So, now I need to buy another pair, so I can't decide whether to go for WR26s or try a totally different brand, although I am overall a very happy Mizuno runner.
There are a lot of shoe brands out there but if Mizuno has been working for you, stick with them! They sure make excellent shoes. I really like these Wave Rider 26s and are soft compared with other Mizuno shoes. If you want something that feels a bit faster, you should check out the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Flash. They’re quite a bit firmer than the Wave Riders but they’re speedy and responsive! 👊🏽
@@its_Matt_B_ thanks for your advice, much appreciated✅😊
I am recovering from my Achilles Tendon and low calf pain.. So I am trying every shoe. Best to protect my Achilles Tendon is the Speed 2.. Followed by Triumph 20.. Then Novablast 3 and last.. Speed 3.
Speed 3 is so soft so at pushoff it makes me work harder which is a bit odd as the shoe is very bouncy.
What’s your pain level when you run? I guess I’m asking how your recovery is going. I’m surprised the Speed 2 is the best to help it, but I’m also not surprised because it’s such a good shoe!
@@its_Matt_B_ Pain getting better but I just jog a bit..
Mizuno wave rider 26 very good update, i really happy fell more cushion under my foot ))) Enerzy foam TOP 🔥🔥🔥
Agreed! It’s nice to have a little softer ride with this version! 👊🏽
Just had to rewatch your rider 26…. Looking forward to hear 👂 from that rider 27…😊
The 26 is a good daily trainer! I haven’t even taken the 27s out for a spin yet! 😆
Great presentation. I'm enjoying mine
Cheers, Andrew! They are just so comfy!
@@its_Matt_B_ they are and it didnt take long to break them in. First run was great
👂 I have never ran in Mizuno but you keep making a case to try
Mizuno makes a lot of good shoes that are very well made and durable. Their latest Wave Rebellion Flash is my favorite faster shoe from them, but you’ll hear from me again about Mizuno when I can test the newest Rebellion Pro!
Thanks for the 👂!
Hi, crisp. n clear..❤
I'm going for a WR 26, have 2 options jacquard fabric or SSW type..? Pros n cons
Please advise
I only have the jacquard fabric so can’t give you pros and cons of the other. Sorry.
Hi Matt - Thank you for the video. I am a new runner coming from cycling background and run in Mizuno Hitogami. My goal is to train and run a half marathon at a fairly decent pace. Would you recommend getting Mizuno Wave Rider 26 or something like Saucony Endorphin speed 3 for daily training and also for the race day? Thank you!
Hi!
The Wave Rider 26 is a solid training shoe but I wouldn't want to race a half marathon in them; they're a little heavy. The Endorphin Speed 3 is a good all-rounder but it is especially good at picking up the pace. I have no doubt you'll run your HM faster in a pair of the Speed 3s!
@@its_Matt_B_ I appreciate your response and guidance, Matt! I will go test out the Speed 3's at a local store just to make sure there is a good union between my foot and the shoes :)
Good plan,@@nolimit7185 ! It's always good to try before you buy! FYI, the Endorphon Speed 4 will be released soon so the price of the Speed 3s is sure to drop!
@@its_Matt_B_ This is perfect. Thank you for the heads up. If the shoe works out, I will definitely wait it out. I saw you did TO marathon, that was amazing. If you happen to visit Montreal, let me know. I am happy to share the names of run clubs and/or show you some fun routes.
This is brilliant! Thanks so much! I plan on being in (near) Montreal in May for a few days. My mother-in-law lives in Pointe-Claire@@nolimit7185
Brooks Adrenaline’s but just Brought some Ghost. Have not run in them yet.👂
Thanks for the 👂! I’ve never run in the Adrenaline but I’m a Ghost fan, for sure!
Hi. My foot length is 28 cm without additions. I'm undecided between size 10 and 10.5. I will be glad if you help. Thank you. I have a normal fit foot
You can probably look up conversion charts online.
But before you do that, what sizes in other shoes have you worn!
These shoes fit me the samne as Nike, Saucony, Brooks, and Asics shoes!
I previously watched your Brooks ghost 15 video. How would you compare the ghost to this shoe ? Same price, same drop, etc. What do you think ?
This is a great question and they are quite similar. The main difference is the Wave Rider 26 has a slightly firmer ride than the Ghost. Other than that, they’re both well made daily trainers that offer a lot of protection.
For picking up the pace, which one?
@@romelagz The Wave Rider 26 will be better!
🗣 can't find the ear emoji
But I watched the whole thing.
Nice! Thank you! Some of these emojis can be tricky to find! Have you run in the Wave Rider before or ar you thinking of picking up a pair?
👂I actually just tried on a pair earlier and it was a half size too big. Confused me, I’ve always worn 8.5 (about 18 years) but my foot slid forward, the 8 felt nice. What’s the reason for that? I’m now not sure what to get. When did this feature change?
🤔 I’m really not sure when their sizing changed. This was my first year in the Wave Rider! I found it fit true to size when compared with other brands. With that said, not all shoes are exactly the same so it’s always best to go by feel rather than the size number! 👊🏽
Just watched another Rider 26 review from "Road Runner Sports" and going up half a size was suggested... So confused...
@@marcoc2706 Have you run in any Mizuno shoes before? All of mine have been the same (normal) size for me. I am also the same size in Nike, Saucony, ASICS, Altra, Brooks, and Puma, so they definitely fit TTS for me!
@@its_Matt_B_ Thanks for the reply! I have never had any Mizuno shoes. Just saw a good deal on Rider 26 and thought it'd be interesting to try out Mizuno. I'm sorta in between sizes. I have Asics Novablast 2 in size 9 which fits perfectly, but have to go up to 9.5 for Nimbus 24. Also 9.5 for Puma Velocity Nitro WTR, but 9 for Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GTX.
Slow down your speech, please. It's way too fast.
Noted! Thanks for the feedback (your not the first person to tell me this! 😄)
You can adjust playback speed on all UA-cam videos ;)
i'm à fan of brooks glycerin i watch à lot of review about mizuno wave rider 26 ssw that say that is a good shoes, than i decide to buy it today but i didn't fell my heels stable, what can i do? It's à good deal if à changed whit Adidas ultraboost 5.0 dna .
For info: my Weight is 65kg and my foot médium not large.
I need your advice please?
Have you worn the Ultraboost 5.0 DNA before? If so it may just be easier to switch to them.
If you want to keep the Wave Rider 26 you could always try the “lace lock” method (Google how to do it). This will keep your heel in place. Good luck! 👍🏽
@@its_Matt_B_non i didn’t trie it before i’m a fan of brooks glycerin, i need a shoes for participation on half marathon for your opinion mizuno rider 26ssw is a good choice for me ?
@@itresolve667 The main thing to consider with running shoes is how they feel. If your heel feels unstable, the Wave Rider 26 may not be for you. If you like the Brooks Glycerine, why not stick with it?
@@its_Matt_B_ because i didn’t find it in my country (Morocco)
Comparison between wave sky 5-6?
I don’t have the WS5 anymore, but I like the WS6 better. Check out my review of the WS6 here: ua-cam.com/video/aZ5kGwaXzSE/v-deo.html
Mine lasted me 700 miles
Impressive, although i'm not surprised! Mizunos really last!
👂🏽
Cheers, Chris! 👊🏽
👂👂👂
I hear you! Thanks! 🙌🏽

I can always count on you, Tracey! Cheers! 👊🏽
I could not locate the "ear" but I hope this will do.
🤣 It works! Thanks, Ken! 👊🏽
