Before completing my undergrad, I was working on the 1st mvt. only. I loved it. I did not complete the last 2 movements, knowing it was not on the senior recital. This performance legato sections a wonderful. Stylistically, I had to adjust to some of the rapid phrases having been used to the recording over the years. I was hoping for a bit of separation even though the tempo was zooming through certain passages unexpectedly. I know he is an accomplished musician and do not want to sound as though I am a critic. He is a skilled talent and his ability to play classical compositions are remarkable. I meant to listen to 2 minutes due to being up late! I listened to all and am grateful to hear this performance.
Still one of the finest cellists I have seen in my lifetime, perhaps second only to Yo-Yo Ma. My first experience with him was in a trio with Joshua Bell on the violin and Jeremy Denk on the piano. Their performance of Shostakovich's 2nd will forever remain in my memory among sheer celebrations of cello virtuosity🤩

I know I shouldn’t give trolls like you the time of day but this really p*ssed me off today. If you don’t like it, don’t watch it; there’s no place for negativity in classical music, and about *the* Mr. Isserlis. 👋👋👋 bye

❤ Best musician ever, by coïncidence playing the cello. I think that this experience was very instructive for the ohhchestra. Bravo!

Phrasing and articulation are impeccable. Technique melded organically to the music. A wonderful musical journey
That core sound is glorious
This is a joy.
Excellent!
Astounding playing and beautifully accompanied. Isserlis looks like he's having a great deal of fun!

The same generic hogwash, imitating himself.
