The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via CBS All Access, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. Jon Stewart, Colbert and Conan get along well, they tend to make a guest appearances on each other's show back then too. Look it up, it's pretty entertaining stuff.
Yeah similar to what Max is saying; if you haven't already seen it, nearly 10 years ago, Colbert, Conan, and Jon Stewart were all part of this convoluted night show v. night show 3-way that took place on all three of their shows during the WGA Strike, and ended with a 3-way brawl between the three men. It's still pretty entertaining, I'd recommend the google search
Finally Conan gets the recognition he deserves for doing these shorts in other countries. And, knowing that they're both late night talk show hosts, they were very respectful towards one another without awkwardness. It's nice to see things right in the world.

it's a tough job, I've done it only once, for one day (for one looong ass day) as a substitute on a commercial. I didn't fuck it up, thankfully but I couldn't lift my arms for two weeks afterwards. Also half of the scenes involved running, keeping it out of frame but not too far. Stressful af

Colbert will never amount to what Conan has done. Look at Conans remotes/skits top hits.
Just to clarify, Conan didn't STEAL the traveling-late-night-show-host idea, he blazed the trail. And he's such a natural on his travel shows and other remotes, so in his element, that really, he should do a travel show full time when he leaves late night.
I think Conan is the best later night show host. Better than Fallon out Kimmel or the other British guy
Anyone is better than Fallon. I like Kimmel, he's quick and witty, so is Corden (and like his show because of the format of more guests at the same time. Graham Norton is also extremely good. Colbert can be sometimes too political. Not that I mind so much but it makes the show a little less watchable for non-Americans

Michal Motyčka Colbert's polical satire is at it's best and Kimmel is catching up fast lately. I'm from South East Asia and I enjoyed Colbert's monologues the most as his comedic timing is always on point and his jokes are so funny.

Actually, you could say Conan's set foot in eight countries. When he was on his South Korea tour, he visited the DMZ, went into a building that straddled the border between the two Koreas, and stepped over the official border.

Agreed. That has to be joke. Loud and obnoxious wherever they travel and have the will to only get drunk and learn nothing.
In times where people get outraged because some sportsmen (allegedly) decline to pay respects to a piece of cloth, I find the 'it's okay to laugh at us' part particularly funny.
Actually, Americans ARE quite humble. As a group, we may engage in some of that "We're number one!" stuff you love to criticize us for, but even that is largely a stereotype drawn from major sporting events and patriotic holidays. I know it appears to you that because we are "loud," that we are arrogant. This is a misunderstanding based on the fact that most people outside the US are shockingly ignorant of American culture. In America, being quiet, standoffish, aloof, etc., is considered rude. By being loud and gregarious in public situations, that's an American's way of saying, "I like you, I like this place, I'm down to earth and not at all superior to you, and willing to engage with you as an equal." It's also a way of signaling that we mean no harm, because in America, people who are too quiet are perceived as threatening.
And that's the irony - when you meet that loud American tourist and see him as arrogant, he is thinking the same thing about YOU. The behavior that you consider polite - keeping to yourself, not talking to strangers, being quiet and avoiding eye contact - Americans consider that rude, and even threatening. Who is right? Neither of us. It's simply a cultural difference. For all the talk that many Europeans engage in about how ignorant about the world Americans are, and how arrogant we are about the superiority of our own culture, I would think I wouldn't have to tell you this, but apparently I do. Your way of doing things is not universal, and it isn't intrinsically correct. There is a large world outside your corner of it. Maybe you should try learning about other cultures and appreciating them on their own terms, rather than criticizing things you clearly don't even understand.

Yes, Father of Lies. That is exactly why the loud American is loud. He or she is attempting to put others at ease. Like you, and like MANY Americans, I am generally not loud in public places, unless it's a bar. But if you go to a bar, and sit in the corner quietly, then yes - everyone thinks you are weird, arrogant, and perhaps even a crazy person or dangerous.
