Honestly, how do you overcook meat that late in the show?
It's not about the dish, it's about how they used the spices. They could only taste one of his spices and it was too overpowering.
@@ryanland979 yes, but overall his dish was still better than hers. She overcooked her main protein and he just muddled the flavors a little. I still think this was unfair for Tony, but I completely understand what you mean!

@@iwishiwasthomasshelby Lol where did you get that news from? If that was the case, she could’ve just slept with the producer or something and won the entire thing. A lot of things are taken into account before eliminating someone. Tony is wholesome but didn’t cook anything out of his comfort zone.
@@rachanaponnappa5607 it was rumors when the show aired. And the producer route wouldn’t, because he would then have to get the judge to comply. That’s adding another potential point of news leak. I don’t know if it’s true, but I watched the whole thing I get the sense that it is. Watch him interact with hot females. Even the cheerleader girl, he kept asking is your husband going to be away? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get a spot? Things like that.

It’s strange to me how everyone is so nice to each other including the judges. In the US it’s all about competition and crushing your opponent. Canadians just seem nicer in general. Think I’m going to stick with this version from now on.

How do you make kimchi in the space of one show? I make my own and I wouldn't eat it until the Masterchef season was over, at least.
Quick kimchi is a thing. There’s less of the fermented tangyness but it’s more fresh tasting and crunchy
Basically more like a quick pickle / spicy coleslaw, doesn't have any of the deep vomplex fermentation notes kimchi has. Imo shouldn't be called kimchi.
Underrated comment
It really looked like one of those sallad-mixes you can buy in a kiosk or tankstation. Why not just call it sallad? Its like throwing all kind of garbage on a pizza and call it classico.
@@joykunjappu1745 I think that in Korean, "fresh kimchi" is called Geotjori. It's way quicker to make and is still really delicious, but you can definitely tell from one taste that it isn't fermented.

The most wholesome season by far. Everyone was nice, no drama, just passion and creativity. Mr. Tony left way too early imo.

such a shame tony couldn't get the most out of those Mccormick Gourmet Spices. Whenever I use any of the Mccormick Gourmet Spices, my food always turns out great! Whenever my friend eat my food they immedietely point out the flavor of Mccormic'ks very own Mccormicks Gourmet Spices. It has that Gourmet Spicy taste that only Mccormick can provide. Help me.
And you have to wash it down with that refreshingly crisp San pellegrino sparkling water made from natural spring water.
I've never seen full episode of Masterchef Canada, only videos on UA-cam. But I've seen so many at this point that I can immediately tell which season it was based on contestants.

Is it just me or is it weird that all of them ALWAYS finish in time, and the three mystery box dishes are always good? Staging at the max honestly
It is the art of editing. Some people might finish first but to create suspense they edit it to feel like everyone just finish on time
No? Some gets ahead (usually gets frowned upon because it's really not a race), some forgets some components in their dish because they just want to get it done, sometimes when the contestants run out of time when it comes to cooking their end goal turns to just getting their food in the plate so that they can serve something to the judges. If the dishes are always good then why are there people going home?
it's no brainer. they only pick the best dishes fot the mystery box challenge and the worst dishes for the elimination challenge. even the contestants are aware of this. hence they want to be called out during the first challenge, but not the second challenge.
Jennifer’s dish looks absolutely magical, and I wish I could try it.

This show has TONNES of product placement lmfaoo, I believe they've done a lot of stuff with Philadelphia and Kraft cheeses, and also the appliances, every time it's "mieles german appliances" LOL
If you think this is bad, you should see MasterChef India. I don't know if I just picked a bad episode to start with, but it was legitimately unwatchable - just a product placement every d@mn minute - I couldn't make it through the episode :/

4:59 to 5:06 cracks me up. The music is overly dramatic. Master Chef Canada doesn't overly hype dishes like the U.S. Master Chefs, but they still do it.

Ahh...I loved Tony.
Hard to watch such a nice guy get eliminated...... But sadly in this competition if you don't show versatility and a broad scope of dishes and cuisines you won't progress. By only cooking Italian dishes Tony was playing it too safe and this in my view led to his elimination. The judges wanted to see a more bold, brave and adventurous contestant and they didn't think he could rise to the challenge........
