It’s strange to me how everyone is so nice to each other including the judges. In the US it’s all about competition and crushing your opponent. Canadians just seem nicer in general. Think I’m going to stick with this version from now on.

I've never seen full episode of Masterchef Canada, only videos on UA-cam. But I've seen so many at this point that I can immediately tell which season it was based on contestants.
No? Some gets ahead (usually gets frowned upon because it's really not a race), some forgets some components in their dish because they just want to get it done, sometimes when the contestants run out of time when it comes to cooking their end goal turns to just getting their food in the plate so that they can serve something to the judges. If the dishes are always good then why are there people going home?
it's no brainer. they only pick the best dishes fot the mystery box challenge and the worst dishes for the elimination challenge. even the contestants are aware of this. hence they want to be called out during the first challenge, but not the second challenge.
This show has TONNES of product placement lmfaoo, I believe they've done a lot of stuff with Philadelphia and Kraft cheeses, and also the appliances, every time it's "mieles german appliances" LOL
If you think this is bad, you should see MasterChef India. I don't know if I just picked a bad episode to start with, but it was legitimately unwatchable - just a product placement every d@mn minute - I couldn't make it through the episode :/

By only cooking Italian dishes Tony was playing it too safe and this in my view led to his elimination. The judges wanted to see a more bold, brave and adventurous contestant and they didn't think he could rise to the challenge........

Do they have things assigned or do they pick for themselves, because those two things are so close it's no wonder the judge couldn't differentiate. If ghey pick for themselves, well then the contestant doesn't know what she's dealing with.

I think judging in Masterchef is quite tough as, if the judge before you likes the dish while you don't , you can't disagree as it might question the palate of the earlier judge...😅 Notice this everytime you see the judging process.

Quick kimchi is a thing. There’s less of the fermented tangyness but it’s more fresh tasting and crunchy
