Worse still, quoting it in front of the Demon Chef. Ahh, the look on his face says it all 😂
Gordon isn't a sushi chef. If she said that in another setting in front of a Japanese Chef maybe Iron Chef Japan. She would be going nose to nose with a chef.

@@fuuufihome lol it’s only cause Vancouver has one of the best fish hehe
@@ChuckNorris-sw9sh One of the best, maybe. The best is still in Japan. You have chefs from all around the world lining up just to apprentice in Japan. I've been to both Vancouver and Japan multiple times and it's really really good but the Sushi in Japan is just on another level. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt if you've never been to Japan though.

@@fuuufihome oh yeah i agree, i think they said Vancouver’s sushi is the best just to promote Canada and tourist attraction, sorry if my comment made it seem like something else

Miranda reminds me of the kind grandma that cooks 5 pies a day and 7 cakes a week, but has a sour spot for people being "mean"
bruh she's the one to use her mother's alzheimer as an excuse so that the judges feel bad for her and not eliminate her
@Wai Lun Cheong that may be true but using her mom's very serious degenerative neurological disease as a scapegoat is kind of despicable, especially hearing how she talks about her mom every other time she mentions her.

1. salt when she wanted sugar
2. boys got saved
3. she got eliminated
but she proved herself kinda weak during the egg challenge so 🤷♂️
Yeah, tbh she is kinda a mediocre cook. She is almost like Thea. Cries when she gets critisized. But Thea can cook, Alice somewhat can🤷🏻♂️

Actually, for a savory dish, berries seem harder than stone fruits imo - it isn't like a savory dish can't contain sweetness, so the stone fruits would make a really good sauce
Berries pair very well with duck, squab, pigeon etc. You can melt it in a sauce and also use fresh to accompany with arugula and cheese for a salad or smthin
Ive seen a lot of cooks make sauce with berries, so thats one
As a home cook I make berry reduction sauces for salmon, pork, chicken, and tofu. I probably wouldn't make berries the star of a savory dish, though I've had them in a salad along with tuna tataki.
As for other fruits, peach salsa, peach sauce over salmon, pork, or chicken, peach and banana in a coconut curry, and I'm thinking of a sweet & sour soup with cubes of peach in place of the sweet. Grilled peaches with an acidic cream cheese sauce. The first time I made a savory dish with banana the concept clicked.
Lol

Seconded! I have a really long hair and let me tell you - they're extremely flammable! It's lucky that burned hair have such a distinctive smell or I would be partly bold today 😂
The last Trevor twist was SO ridiculous

I just found this show, and I love it so much. The judges seem super sweet and actually concerned with helping the cooks learn.

A Tajine usually takes several hours and berbers even use it mostly overnight. One can use it faster, but does not offer the benefit of slow-cooking and keeping the moist of condesation in tho. So, this is not really suitable for a "pressure test"
The vegetables they used also made me facepalm myself... And the cherry on top... calling the selmolina clump a couscous and making it as a side... When in reality we eat tagine with bread...and couscous is a separate dish... You can cook a tagine faster especially the dry tagines of the north since they are traditionally prepared on an open fire... But one must know which vegetables to use...
I agree with you... It's unsuitable for a pressure test...

Stonefruit is kind of the easy option between the three. Tropical can also go either way but I feel like it’s savory is more favored and vice versa for berries. I felt sad with the bananas not in the berry basket though.

Miranda is hands down one of my favorites, she's a very competent chef, a sassy and funny personality and an amazing yet kind competitor
Bro, Trevor had TWO opportunities to save Alice by giving her an easier time with a Sweet dish or pulling her off the challenge to return the favor and he just SQUANDERED it.
You can tell Chef Michael was holding back unprofessional expletives when he saw Sean Hickey butchering that Sturgeon.
Alvin's face when the lady told the best sushi comment 😂
“As another advantage, trevor gets to choose the size of your knife.”
It makes me laugh that the contestants have to prepare so much food yet the judges eat a little tiny ity bity thing 🤣
Stone fruits were the easiest out of the bunch. Tropical fruit would have been hardest.
I don't think so cause pineapples are very easy to include in savory
Jackfruit curry with a hint of animal meat is the way to go,,, 😋😋😋
20:08 when Chef Alvin said just like a marriage. It made me overthink it and I got the idea that Miranda was taking a gamble with her vegetables instead of a perfect combination lol
Hahaha
I don't know if anyone else has thought of this... but why do the judges talk to each other like they are teaching each other... wouldn't they know these things already lmao 😂🤣🤣
That's for the viewers at home. This way it would be easier to understand the judges decisions.
For the show's presentation...

all you do is copy the top comments huh?
Lmao the camera pointed directly to him..waiting for his reaction lmao
I think the guy made his own paste, because doing so would guarantee that he knows exactly what its supposed to taste like and the ingredients used to make it. The judge made a point of saying that he DID NOT use the unlabeled spices that the judge's provided. He played it very smart by doing his own thing, rather than guessing at the spices and then losing the challenge if he's very wrong and the judges don't like his dish..
I love Miranda and her energy
