Awesome....I recently received my ES-8 interface and will be trying out Bitwig 2.0 with my rig using your tutorial as a guide. Thanks and looking forward to further videos about this kind of setup!!!
Sweet! Let me know what you think of the ES-8. I keep almost buying it...I just wish it had 8 inputs. I know it can be expanded, but I'm trying to keep my rig portable. I was really hoping the Intellijel would come out with a 1U interface...maybe some day.
Got the ES-8 working with Bitwig 2.0 but it's quirky and not 100% dependable. It seems to be an issue with Bitwig because sometimes while tuning a modular oscillator I'll get a seriously noisy signal, I remove all the ports in Bitwig's configuration and set new ones and I can get it to work cleanly. I also cannot use any output to send audio to my mixer, I have to use port #1 on the ES-8 otherwise audio outputs on all other output channels causing noise in the CV signal. Fun to be getting this far and your video was a great help.
+Quantum Space really weird. Have you emailed both Bitwig's and Expert Sleeper's tech support? I've heard of a few others having audio interface issues. But I have yet experience any myself.
That was really well presented. Great tutorial thanks. I also would like to see a eurorack modulator device modulating the software parameters, and how that is set up.
Very nice video.... just one tip: be sure you choose the right output on your Master Channel in Bitwig Studio. If you use Studio out, it sends all Audio and CVs to the Eurorack and it reacts a bit weird than ;)) ...
Hi, NoizeBusters! Thanks! I am a little confused by what you mean. The "Studio" output in Bitwig is a configurable output, and I have mine set to only output to either my headphones or my main studio monitors. So in this setup, nothing that passes through the Master channel, passes to my modular.
i have that "studio" option on the master channel, beside the other ones like speakers and than the cv outputs..... i didnt configurate that one, but if that "studio" output is chosen in the master channel, it send cv and audio to the eurorack.... just be sure you choose the designated output and than it works perfectly.... a bit hard to explain in english ;)
Motu 828... its all good, its routing correctly... its a bitwig option which can mess things up if u use the wrong output, but no worries all good here and works nicely...
can i ask , could i use my ultralite in stand alone mode , not connected with thunder bolt to do this.. or does it need to be bitwigs host interface.. ? great vid by the way

Nice! That looks like a great mixer. I have only tested audio interfaces that have DC-coupled outputs. Bitwig supposedly can work with audio interfaces that aren't DC-coupled, so you'll have to report back what all your able to do with Bitwig, your new mixer, and your modular system.
Man this is so crazy how easy bitwig made it. thank you very much for your explanations.

Hey, how's life with Bitwig and the ES-8? I'm thinking about grabbing an ES-8 myself soon.
I'm in love with the ES-8 and I also have the ES-3 and ES-6. Maybe you know how to route a pre-recorded midi sequence out to CV?
This is excellent, just what I was looking for to start wrapping my head around this stuff.

Thx for the video, simple and clear, thumbs up
You're welcome!

+NoizeBusters what audio interface are you using? It's possible that your interface is routing things in some unexpected ways.

thanx, man!

What would be controlling your modular then?
hey, its been some time since your last video. do you plan on doing more ableton focused tutorials/videos? Would love to see more of them.
+Ard s I know. I've been swamped with other projects but I will be making some more videos soon. Thanks for the encouragement!
Amazing man I ordered a Mackie 30 channel mixer with a USB interface can I use that to sync with my Eurorack and use it with bitwig 2.0
What mixer? Probably.

I will thanks again for the vids👊
Is that an intellijel 7u case? 😳
Yup! It's the Intellijel 7u 84hp performance case. I love it. It goes with me to work most days. Just wish they made a bike rack mount for it.
Nice. I'm down to that or a bastl skiff. Good tutorial!
If you plan on taking it lots of places with you the Intellijel is great. However, it really needs something for rainy days.
