Dude thank you for covering bitwig 2.0 so comprehensively. I hope they sent you a license.
+Gordon C Haha! Thanks! So far this is just a labor of love, a few friends send me a few $ a month via my Patreon page. www.patreon.com/drd_tutorials
I've been keeping an eye on Bitwig. Many of their plugins aren't as deep as their Ableton counterparts yet, but It's clear from the 2.0 update that they're able and willing to add functionality to their plugins over time, more so than say Propellerhead or Image-Line. If they keep going at their current pace, I suspect we'll be singing a different tune in a year or two.
which ones are not ?
Vegas Chill Trap music...how wrong can somebody be? I love Ableton but Bitwig is no better or worse. To make sounds you want Bitwig is far better. Modulation it’s in the next century. Bitwig all day and night long.
@@jamisbillson4872You're replying to a comment from more than two years ago. Sampler didn't have a way to trigger one-shots with a fade out. It didn't have stretch modes in it either, both things that was easy to do in Live. Now it has a full blown granular engine.
Very informative ....thanks
Great video.
Dig it. Looking forward to your next video about Sampler! BTW does Bitwig's Sampler allow for multiple in/out points?
+Quantum Space Do you mean assigning different groups of samples to different MIDI input channels or different audio output channels?
This is a much better advert for Bitwig than the adverts for Bitwig. I'm regretting that i chose Reason all those years ago.
Thank you very much...very nice introduction and showing the greatly improved workflow Bitwig 2.0 offers.
+kraenk12 you're welcome!
thanks for these tutorials man. that issue i had with the ultranova, no one had a solution. i ended up buying a scarlett 6i6
+housebrigade weird! But, hey, congrats on the new 6i6! Thanks for letting me know what you found out.
This older version of the sampler looks better than the one now 3 years later with less options directly on the sampler itself. I cant even figure out how to name a dam sample on this current version.
do you have to have a midi keyboard to use this thing? cuz i cant access play
Nice thanks. Im curious why they put the filter built in to the Sampler? With Bitwig being so modular shouldnt you add the filter in to the FX chain like its designed for.. They cleared out everything else, why did they add the random filter there?
+Riki-Oh Saiga good question! I'm not sure. I guess they probably have their reasons. Perhaps just because you pretty much always want a filter, just like you always need an volume envelope? Perhaps because of how the synth is programmed, it is more efficient to write the per-voice filter in to the synth?
Yeah maybe its just simply for efficiency.
Does it have retrospective record of midi? I'm looking around and I'm baffled that this isn't a basic function in every single DAW in 2017. Such an important function and highly requested, and several DAWs miss it, is it really that hard to implement? What is the ridiculous reason they can't?
+Aiden Hall Bitwig does not. That is a really handy feature. Not many DAWs have it. Ableton just announced that it will included in Live 10! However, considering Bitwig is only a few years old and just on version 2. It’s a pretty incredible DAW.
@@DanielRDehaan hi thx for the great vid do you have to have a midi keyboard to use this sampler? cuz i cant access play
ugh! No tempo lock, really?, its 2017 for christs sake.
I'm sure they'll add it soon, it seems markedly absent
The newest Bitwig 2.4 version, still in Beta just revamped the sampler and added tempo lock plus lots of other powerful sound design goodies. Also Tal Sampler plugin has some of the cleanest sounding pitch shift tempo locking features I have found for around $60. Something to check into.
@@Username_Invalid tal sampler is a design nightmare.
is there a way to create new zones?
+ProjectP Yup, just add another sample. Or do you mean something else?
i mean a new zone in the same sample.
Not without duplicating that same sample inside of the Sampler.
if i try to record audio through my novation ultranova audio interface, all i get is this screeching white noise iv had a mess around with audio settings but still no joy.
any ideas anyone?
+housebrigade Do you mean, the Novation Audiohub? I'd recommend contacting Novations tech support. Sounds like there is an issue with the audio interface. Do have any other DAW that you could try recording with? This would help you determine if it is a problem with the interface or Bitwig.
DRD_Tutorials yes, it works fine in my old cubase and fl studio 12. the ultranova is a hardware synth with a built in audio interface in it. I'm tempted to buy a audio interface
+housebrigade weird. I'd defiantly contact both Novation's and Bitwig's technical support. Sorry, I haven't had any experience with the Ultranova.
DRD_Tutorials no worries mate thanks anyway. I'll get intouch with the manufacturers
+housebrigade no problem. Let know what they say? I'd love to know what the issue was and how they solved it.
