If you selling drugs I don’t think it’s that easy to move to a better neighborhood because people would get very suspicious and they would all be arrested even faster, bottom line nobody wants a drug dealer in a good neighborhood. A drug dealer in a good neighborhood as like oil and vinegar don’t mix.
You would be off the radar in the hood. If you not selling that bs in the good neighborhood, you’re good. It was their mentality that kept them there. No endgame and wanted to be hood stars.
The dude livin n tha house was Rich’s uncle. His uncle had taught rich a lot of game when he was younger, but Rich was giving his uncle drugs for him to sell it but instead he was using it. That’s why Rich was mad, and because he was doing it around Donnell and he wasn’t taking care of a buisness how a man should. That’s how Rich felt. So I think His uncle did it out of jealousy and anger. Either way his uncle is Grimey🔟0️⃣smh. His own family. 🤦🏽
For some, it’s hard as hell to get the family out of the hood . They just don’t want to leave what they know unfortunately. Also, think about the mindset of young men in their early 20’s. Sad but true.
Your delivery is very bold…you gotta remember Richard Porter still has family that can see this. They will forever be heartbroken by both murders…So let’s be respectful.Plus we already know this.Last but not least that guy that lived in the house was his uncle Johnny Williams.
Trying to buy a home requires federal paperwork. How would they explain the funds to buy a $200k home? He would've tied himself up in a federal case. Most guys in the street, especially young guys only have tunnel vision with no real plan.
Exactly! People Quick To Ask “Why You Didnt Move?” Like He Was A Rapper Or Lawyer 😂 The Laws Was Already Watching Them They Wouldve Really Gave Them A Reason To Fw Him
They could've did the down payment route and made monthly payments... PRETENDING to be broke check to check like everyone else... No one said they had to show 200K up front... and back then the 80's a move to PA would've only been like $70K in a good area

I remember when that went down and they found donnells finger with the note at the McDonald's on 125th and Broadway. We was walking buy and saw a lot of cops there and we found out later what was going down. It was Richard's uncle that set up the kidnapping with Preacher who was known for chopping body's up.

You are absolutely right. I think there was tension between Rich Porter and his uncle at home. Now I don’t know whether he kicked him out or not but I am sure they bumped heads due to his status and that friction just got worse
To all the ones saying why didn't they move: #1) The mentality used to be "stay close to the money & the product".They couldn't leave the hood for good & they also couldn't make their parents leave. This was all going on before crack was crack. You literally were the whole store from ingredients to protecting your business. The levels of wealth off the game took everybody by surprise contrary to movies n myths. And also contrary to myth, half the movers actually came from money. They put the ones from poverty on to the game & also schooled them on how to spend wisely.Which is where reason #2 why they didn't move comes in: The majority of the crack game was run by teenagers from all financial backgrounds.Teenagers always think there will be a tomorrow & that was especially true for the drug dealers back then because they had to learn what their heroine & glue dealing predecessors never had to learn. It went from taking years to make a true million for yourself to crack making a 15 year old millions within a few months. It's very easy to launder money but it's not that easy to build trust with somebody who launders money. And the last reason a lot of them didn't move is because they already had shitty parents pre-crack so they were forced to stay around for the siblings & bills.Once the kids started bringing in money, they guilted them into giving a lot of it to them which cut down on the profits. There were some goofy people in the game who didn't take care of business but back in the day there were way more smart dealers than there are now.Just saying,if you weren't actually there, you didn't truly hustle & you stayed in your limited bubble area you can't come close to asking why they didn't move.
Not only did they not get their people out the hood, but they were making 100s of 1,000s of dollars and they couldn't come up with the half mill to get lil Donnell back. I don't understand that one either

Johnny was Rich and Donnell's Uncle that was on drugs. They're mother was an addict so Rich put all his energy into Donnell's future. The black hand of death was friends with Johnny and they ignored the hustlers and hitman's rule of, "This is business and not personal and no women and children." I do agree with you about how they talk about how many cars and how much money they had and they were making every day yet we're still staying in the slums of New York unheard of several people that are about that life but it's an old saying, "Don't ish where you eat" and they keep their families far away from whatever they're doing. But as we always said we always want to shine and look good but go home to eat some cold oatmeal LOL similar to what was said on the movie baby boy when he said the difference between guns and butter all them guys did was think about and purchased things that was Butter because getting their families out of New York and maybe down south is Guns! At least the Harlem legend L.A. tried to buy his mom's a house and Mr. Doo Wop stayed low key. Everybody that is gone were the ones that just did not think beyond the present. The money will only last as the money will only for a little while so that's why you have to make sure you have all your ducks in a row so when you are out you don't have to come back and you can move forward and doing other things positive and productive in your life. Cars and clothes and all those pictures back in the days you used to look good but look at everybody else they're gone they're pushing up daisies.
This really was an extraordinary story. Unfortunately, there were so many around this time. I'm glad there's a focus on this story. Many people just saw these as simple drug murders-just another number. More people need to know the details. Real people were dying. It doesn't matter who they were or what they did. Crack took the lives of so many, in one way or another. No city or state was immune. It was horrible. No one should have been desensitized to the deaths. They were all people. Thanks for the story.
Just observational a little outside of the topic but was noticing that the types of crimes spoken of in these types of conversations and the personalities attached to them were often influenced and inspired by movie that focus on crime like Scarface or Paid In Full etc. This goes back to the roaring 20's as it's referred to with the media's focus on guys like Al Capone etc vs law enforcement agents like Elliot Nest etc. The socially constructed concept of good vs evil, the manipulation of perception, emotions, motivations and actions, the influence of the movies on the easily swayed desparate person and or groups, the historical fiction and its 7 elements of historical fiction (the situation has since been embellished by those directly and or indirectly involved for their own reasons) have all been a serious detriment to the oppressed portions of westernized society. All of these types of stories, the types of movies made during that period and afterwards and their influence on the poor have their roots in the soil of the Iran Contra Affair, the US gov flooding the inner cities with cocaine and other street drugs, The allowance of CCA by the US gov to privatize portions of the federal prison system and place that portion on the stock market for investors to invest in, the introduction to gangster and thug rap in the mid 80's to the 90's into the community. The results being all of the crimes spoken of in this video and other crimes of the same magnitude were facilitated by law enforcement who predetermined and rigged the playing field whereas the ignorant unconscious person walks right into the trap, its the mental illness that makes them not care. Sad
Some people just can't leave the ghetto, matter how much they have or don't have, me I grew up in Detroit in the 60's first chance I got I was outta there.
That's why you set up a business to clean your money... you're a much easier target in the hood to law enforcement and other gangsters..but if you appear to be a legitimate businessman out of the hood...no one really looks twice. Just fyi from a member of LE

I must admit you made a lot of interesting points by raising a lot of interesting questions. But its obvious that based on the way you depicted the story that you really don't know or knew of Rich Porter. No disrespect to you like I say you raised a lot of interesting points by the questions you asked. At points I thought you were asking those questions so we the youtube audience could provide you with the answers. Well first of all from what I have been hearing from other documentaries or other channels Rich indeed had a number of properties and a lot of real estate in and out of state mainly in New Jersey. Its lead to believe that he only was in the City because he wanted to stay close to his business. One question you did not ask / maybe you did I could have missed it because of a call I received was "How come Rich did not pay or was unable to pay the ransom which was stated to be $500,000 and get his his little brother back?" From what I have hear Richard use to front people a lot of work on consignment and when it came time to re-up he had to chase a lot of his workers down and at times he went into his own stash or pocket to purchase and pay the connect. Also you guessed it right the person living in the household with Rich's family was his and Donnell's uncle as well as Patrica's who is Richard's sister. I believe if not mistaken he was Rich's mom brother. Also did you ever think that maybe Richard's mom did not want a house or even move out the area? Not everyone would take money from family like that especially when its drug money. The way I see it the only difference between a dealer and a pro athlete from the hood is that an athlete can't wait to buy his mother a home or at least pay off the family mortgage. But most dealers don't no matter how big of a hood superstar the are... That's just how the game is played

I don't understand that one either
probably too busy spending it and flossin.

Just observational a little outside of the topic but was noticing that the types of crimes spoken of
in these types of conversations and the personalities attached to them were often influenced and
inspired by movie that focus on crime like Scarface or Paid In Full etc. This goes back to the roaring
20's as it's referred to with the media's focus on guys like Al Capone etc vs law enforcement agents
like Elliot Nest etc. The socially constructed concept of good vs evil, the manipulation of perception,
emotions, motivations and actions, the influence of the movies on the easily swayed desparate person
and or groups, the historical fiction and its 7 elements of historical fiction (the situation has since been
embellished by those directly and or indirectly involved for their own reasons) have all been a serious
detriment to the oppressed portions of westernized society. All of these types of stories, the types of
movies made during that period and afterwards and their influence on the poor have their roots in the
soil of the Iran Contra Affair, the US gov flooding the inner cities with cocaine and other street drugs,
The allowance of CCA by the US gov to privatize portions of the federal prison system and place that
portion on the stock market for investors to invest in, the introduction to gangster and thug rap in the
mid 80's to the 90's into the community. The results being all of the crimes spoken of in this video and
other crimes of the same magnitude were facilitated by law enforcement who predetermined and rigged
the playing field whereas the ignorant unconscious person walks right into the trap, its the mental illness
that makes them not care.

His Mother was dealing with some

But
