I would add the Jedi and sith in the original Star Wars battlefront. They wouldn’t usually attack you if you didn’t come too close, but they could kill you with a single hit. They deflected every gunshot or even misiles with the lightsaber. However you could kill them by running them over with some tanks or throwing grenades at them until the blast threw them off a cliff. Big Daddies: they are initially passive but can be provoked by hostile splicers. If used to your advantage, they'll be slightly weakened after dealing with your enemy.

The Guardians from Breath of the Wild can instant kill you early game if you are new to the game they are hard to kill early game especially since the can break shields and your best option is use ancient arrows and shoot the eye, use the master sword and destroy it, or shield parry to block and then parry to send the laser beam back at them.
I found the Praetorians in ME2 more difficult than the Banshees in ME3. The key with both is to let your squad mates agro them. The Praetorians, though they lacked the ability to one-shot you, take more damage and longer to whittle down their barriers and armor. I tend to play as a Sentinel so that I can use Tech skills against armor and Biotic skills against barriers. Just hit either with a powerful skill to weaken whichever defense they have, and move. While you're moving, your squadies can maintain their attention until you hit them again.
Good list. I would give a special nod to the Winter Lanterns from Bloodborne. Talk about nasty. They can kill you before you can attack them, or you can even see them for that matter. And they're creepy looking. Lol
Even compared to every other weapon in the other games like Elden ring, or dark souls, the Rakuyo still has one of the most graceful and smooth weapon move set ever

It ended up melting anything that was normal like they were made of butter, no reload was a nice bonus, didnt do squat to banshees though (unless you were pelting it with head shots with it's barrier down)
I would add Blissey in the Pokémon games. Not only having the highest hp stat, but also having recovery moves and the hp bar going down at a snail’s pace
I had no idea about most of these things in video games. I've watched a livestream of someone playing "BioShock" and he did a great job trying to take down Big Daddy. These things in video games seem hard to beat. I've download apps on one of my phones and tablet that have the games "Ghosts and Goblins" and "Super Mario Bros. 3". I want to play them both. Just off the thumbnail alone, I hope the Ardat Yakshi sit somewhere in the lower mid tier. If you grit your teeth, they're tough but not infallible. If you're scared and sloppy at shooting or prioritizing enemies and positioning, they're terrifying and annoying to die to.
Even on insanity, Banshees aren't that tough. It's just a matter of understanding the dynamics of the game. I play as a Sentinel, so I use incinerate or a tech combo with a squadie to strip armor, and warp or a biotic combo to strip barriers.
The Maw's from Mass Effect 1; You never know where one is or when it'll attack, ME2 gave us one to deal with (with cover), thankfully! Even with the new, updated version, I STILL avoid the damn things, except the only one for the 'rescue' mission (Survivor Shepherd will mention their background if that misson is actived). I never really had any problems taking the banshees down (I made it a point to NEVER take Liara with me after she get me killed trying to get to the Maw Hammers {she didn't both to hide with the rest of us}); even the brutes, while hard, still go down quicker than those damnable Thresher's.
Yeah I encountered a Malboro relatively early in final fantasy 15 just after reading up on recurring final fantasy enemies. Yea it was the first time I fled from battle in that game
Varkids in Borderland 2. They start as little ones, then if you don't kill them they evolve into bigger and bigger monsters and can - vanishingly rarely - evolve into a super-rare boss monster. Hey, WatchMojo. You guys should do a list of the Top 30 SNES Soundtracks. I can give you a couple of examples of these 16-bit tunes from the Super Nintendo you guys should mention in this list. Examples: Star Fox (1993) Mega Man 7 (1995) Super Mario World (1991) Kirby Super Star (1996) Super Castlevania IV (1991) Final Fantasy III (known as Final Fantasy VI in Japan) (1994) F-Zero (1991) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time (1992) Donkey Kong Country (1994) Secret of Mana (1993) Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (SNES ver.) (1994) Shin Kido Senki Gundam Wing: Endless Duel (1996) - This fighting game based on the anime was only released in Japan. What do you think? Can you please do this list, WatchMojo?
That was my initial thought, but the only things I can think of from the franchise that gets difficult to kill is the Flood Juggernauts in Halo 3 or Hunters in later installments. The rest of the enemies all have workarounds, or aren't so much hard to kill as they are just so lethal you get a few seconds to make the kill before they drop you.
I would personally like to add root brutes with miniguns specifically, from Remnant: From the Ashes. Super tanky and can easily destroy your health, even with health and armour maxed out
To me one of the hardest enemy types is the B2 BattleDroids in Republic Commando I sent the squad after one and I stabbed it again and again shot it with my Rocket launcher and every weapon I have and threw Bombs at it and it Did nothing
I’m surprised Halo series Hunters did not make it to the top 10. Per every Halo game, Hunters were updated to be more resilient to damage and harder to exploit. Don’t even get me started on the Red Hunter variants from Halo Infinite!
I was hoping the Hunters from the first Halo game would make an appearance. When you first encounter them, your main and sidearm weapons do very little damage to them, due to them being HEAVILY armored. Plus, they are armed with that shield busting plasma launcher, and the fact they ALWAYS travel in pairs. I had to learn the hard way that there is a weak spot behind them, but even then, once you dispatch one, the other is usually on top of you. Thankfully, later in the game, you get a freaking rocket launcher that takes them out in one shot, but that’s AFTER Cortana pops up and says “Since we’re dealing with hunters, I thought we could use the extra fire power.” I absolutely HATED those things(hunters, not the rocket launcher).
In the original, I found them annoying and they could be hard if you didn't have the infrared scope. Other than that, they were just mid for me, especially due to their slow speed. But the remake, jeez they got vamped up haha. They now all have relatively fast long-reach arm attacks, and they don't move slow anymore, they can run and often do :(
The banshees in Mass Effect 3 were easy to kill. I always used that massive assault rifle and unloaded every round on them. Plus with armour piercing ammo or inferno ammo helped.
The Number 4 pick, E.M.M.I., definitely earned its spot on this list. I've gotten a number of Game Overs because of them due to that whole "precise timing is needed to counter them" bullshit. That makes the act of destroying them with the unique energy from the control units all the more satisfying for most of them as well as that cutscene where Samus gains the ability to suck the energy out of what she touches like a Metroid for the last one.
No mention of the Mgalekgolo from Halo and Halo 2, also known as Hunters, maybe it’s the lack of munitions during those missions isn’t helping but they get a high placement for me
Honorable mentions would be (no order) 1. The turtle in FfXV 2. Valkyrie God Of war 3. Zombie Dragon Castlevania 4. Krauser O.G Resident evil 4 5. Sephiroth Kingdom Hearts 6. Marlboro final fantasy series 7. Lapis Legend of legaia 8. Elizabeth, Margaret, Twin wardens - Persona 3 4 and 5. first playthrough
My worst enemy on videogame was Regenerators on Resident Evil 4. If you do not have rifle ammo you are a gonner. And you do not have enough ammo to deal with. On RE 4 VR I once used the knife to kill The first one. My arm was in pain and I had to rest after that.
Everyone who knows Mass Effect 3 always complains about the Banshees. Bro, y’all can cry all you want. As a Mass Effect veteran, nothing can top the Praetorian from 3, they terrify me to this day! I will scream this message from the mountains until it is accepted!
''#17 Chrysalids'' Queue Newfoundland PTSD... (Oh well, might as well farm the whale spawn, then send all but one soldier back to the EVAC zone and trigger the air striker. If he's lucky he comes back)
I could have bet £20 that regenerators were number 1. I was literally traumatised for months as a 15 year old feeling as if one would walk into my room as I was going to sleep 💀
I’m shocked none of the enemies from ‘The forest’ made the cut. Specifically Armsies, Virginias and the worm. Especially when playing on the hardest level…any of those can destroy your campsite/house and your life lol…and they can be creepy AF. Ghost Fish from Ninja Gaiden black/sigma - some of the most annoying enemies. Hunters in Halo series…playing on Laso mode…those are some of the worst things to deal with. Gloom hands from Zelda TOTK. Early on with little armor and weak weapons, these things are a nightmare
The Juggernauts in State Of Decay 2 are also horrendous. Unlike other zombies, even armored, and special zombies you can’t run them over. You crash and they can throw your car around.
One enemy that I face now is in Prey called the technopath which are like corrupted droids only bigger. They fly and are a bullet sponge at the worst of times wasting what probably is the little ammo that you have in fact once it took me 26 shotgun shells and one 9mm just to down one. Worst part is they usually have a human under mind control somewhere near by and if you want to be the goody two shoes that you have to knock them out with the electric gun otherwise they die and if they get too close they blow up. In short these guys are a pain and should be avoided but if want to complete all the optional quests you need to kill at least two or three so good luck
I’m glad xcom made it on this list another great enemy were the heros and villains in the og battlefront series only real way to deal with them was knocking them off the bespin map
How are Hunters from "Halo" series not on this list??!! Whatever difficulty you are on, they are incredibly hard to kill, have HUGE cannons for arms and if theres two of them.........God help you!
Try and fight the dual-wielding Phantom Banished Knight in Elden Ring. It can be found in Castle Sol. The one with the red eyes. Revenants are nothing compared to that.
Zingers and buzzs from the Donkey Kong country series. Too sharp to touch so your best bet is to throw something at them...if you can find something that is. If not, too bad.
I absolutely hate the marauder in doom with all my soul. When alone, the marauder is a piece of cake, but in nightmare mode with all those other heavy and super heavy demons, it is a nightmare and utterly demonic. For me, even the bosses like the Khan Maykr, and Icon of Sin were easier.
The FOEs from Persona Q2 should have been on this list. Anyone who's played that game likely knows that they are pretty much impossible to beat outside the game's easiest setting and even then it's really annoying.
Dragons dogma, Death ☠️… yeah, actual Death, it’s not really a boss fight, but it’s one of the most painful to deal with in the entire game that’s not a boss, what makes them not a boss, is they spawn in random places throughout the bitter black isles, and bosses are always placed in a predetermined location, Death is not, plus you likely won’t beat him in 1 go, after he takes so much damage you have to hunt him through out the entire dungeon to find him again so you can finish him off… and if you die I believe his health resets, and which which can take hours from the dungeons massive size
Not quite hard to defeat alone or in a pair, the mercenaries in AC Odyssey on nightmare difficulty were relentless in groups of 3 or more. Kassie had to be a sneaky, sneaky gerl...
Deathclaws? Sure. Albino Radscorpions, however, are another problem. The giant variants have some of the largest health pools in Fallout 3 (rivalling Super Mutant Behemoths and the Chinese General at the end of the Operation Anchorage DLC), and have the Solar Powered perk, meaning they grow stronger and regenerate health when in sunlight. Where do you find them? Outside, more often than not.

3. Zombie Dragon Castlevania
4. Krauser O.G Resident evil 4
5. Sephiroth Kingdom Hearts
6. Marlboro final fantasy series
7. Lapis Legend of legaia
8. Elizabeth, Margaret, Twin wardens - Persona 3 4 and 5. first playthrough
the shielded guys from breakdown often had me taking a break or risk just quitting.
Juggernauts in MW3 survival were a real pain and could completely ruin a good run if you didn't communicate with your teammates.
My worst enemy on videogame was Regenerators on Resident Evil 4. If you do not have rifle ammo you are a gonner. And you do not have enough ammo to deal with. On RE 4 VR I once used the knife to kill The first one. My arm was in pain and I had to rest after that.
People who faced Skolas in D1 with no gjallahorn knows he should be number one
For regenerators tip, when heart is on his back, just shoot his legs,he will crawl and you can easy shot heart on his back.
Everyone who knows Mass Effect 3 always complains about the Banshees. Bro, y’all can cry all you want. As a Mass Effect veteran, nothing can top the Praetorian from 3, they terrify me to this day! I will scream this message from the mountains until it is accepted!
Even the ME2 Praetorians were tougher than the Banshees in ME3.
''#17 Chrysalids''
Queue Newfoundland PTSD... (Oh well, might as well farm the whale spawn, then send all but one soldier back to the EVAC zone and trigger the air striker. If he's lucky he comes back)
Number 1 is definetly Dogs from FromSoftware games
As soon as I saw chrysalids, I knew that they had the right selections. Que the infamous, "That's X-COM, baby!"
I fully agree with number 20
12:23 marauders arent hard to kill as long as ur on top of ur ammo management and have ur ssg balista or pb ssg ready
I’m surprised the guys with armor from metal gear solid 5 were not included.
Juggs used to tear me up in old school cod 😂
I'm glad I seen banshees at #3, but they should've been #2. Big Daddies were optional bosses
I’m shocked that the Valkyrie’s didn’t make this list
They are bosses
Those beraerkers were a pain in the ass in Gears of War lol
I stg 😂😂
Revenants - Elden Ring...
*Laughs in LVL 200 Unga Bunga*
One of the enemies that came to my mind were the Bulldozers from Payday 2.
Lynels from the Zelda series, more specifically the ones from the most recent entries (BOTW and TOTK) are pretty hard to kill
not really. I found out they all basically have the same pattern. Try to slice with sword or slam you with their hammer, throw fire and repeat
Dry bones can also be killed permanently using the tanooki tail or the cape depending on the game.
Yeah Horizon’s tremortussk was brutal
These Fish Giants where a real pain in the ass In bloodborne 😂
the Malboros in Final Fantasy XI are annoying too, Blue Mages can learn Bad Breath as a Blue Magic Spell
Seems like that nokken thing would be more of an annoyance than anything else.
How about Volatile from Dying Light? Faster and stronger from the "regular" zombies in this game?
Didn’t mentioned Skull Squad (MGSV)
Video : Deathclaws... *FALLOUT 3*...
Me : The fuck is Fallout 2's Deathclaws then ? Muppets ?
That One Ice Cream Truck In Dusty Divot😂
I’m glad xcom made it on this list another great enemy were the heros and villains in the og battlefront series only real way to deal with them was knocking them off the bespin map
How are Hunters from "Halo" series not on this list??!!
Whatever difficulty you are on, they are incredibly hard to kill, have HUGE cannons for arms and if theres two of them.........God help you!
Of which, from my experience, there usually are two of them
Honorable mention from doom eternal is the Arch-Vile
Try and fight the dual-wielding Phantom Banished Knight in Elden Ring. It can be found in Castle Sol. The one with the red eyes. Revenants are nothing compared to that.
#1: Regenerators...
Me with a rocket launcher with infinite ammo:
I was struggling on that final boss on The house of the dead 2
How on earth did Drybones make the top 20, but metroids or the space pirates from metroid prime did'nt 🤷🏾♂️
Was wondering where those would be on the list. Things have me nightmares lol
When you would hear the theme song for the tank you know you were in for a fight.
That thumbnail's gonna be giving people nightmares, myself included 😨
I'd definitely add up the Demons from Metro series and the Trolls from skyrim
Zingers and buzzs from the Donkey Kong country series. Too sharp to touch so your best bet is to throw something at them...if you can find something that is. If not, too bad.
I absolutely hate the marauder in doom with all my soul. When alone, the marauder is a piece of cake, but in nightmare mode with all those other heavy and super heavy demons, it is a nightmare and utterly demonic. For me, even the bosses like the Khan Maykr, and Icon of Sin were easier.
Slime Replicators from Fester's Quest. Good God...
What about those “parasites”’ from Metal Gear phantom pain 🤕
So I just clicked on here and the list hasnt even started yet but I must wonder if Don Tonberry is on here
The FOEs from Persona Q2 should have been on this list.
Marauders are not difficult to deal with by themselves. The problem is when there are more than one AND there are other enemies around.
death claws from fallout New Vegas, those ones are hard
What? Regenerators were piece of cake once you get the scope.
Deathclaws?
