Hi Chris, I’ve had this tent - the Nordisk Oppland 3 LW - for a couple of years now. I use it with my wife and young daughter. So palatial, extremely light yet still pretty strong. it doesn’t have the second door facing the inner as does the heavier Si model but you can modify it. I carry some small pegs and open up the front (a bit like the opening on the Nallo GTs) so it gives me a front view from the sleeping compartment. It doesn’t look as tidy as it’s not intended, but it works. I think Nordisk are very underrated compared to Hilleberg. They use good materials and the same DAC poles and pegs. The guy lines are different, but they’re dyneema, so they’re strong and light. Hilleberg may be stronger, but for many people I think these are better options for most of the year. I also have the Nordisk Telemark 2 LW for bikepacking. It’s amazing. I went for the 2 over the 1, and the LW over the ULW. With the two-man you get much more room for little extra weight and the additional cost and weight saving with the ULW isn’t worth it in my opinion. I’d take a look at it for three-season camps (and some winter camps when it’s not too extreme). Enjoy, Mark
Thanks - I really rate it and will be making a fun review soon! I'd love to try some of their smaller backpacking tents - but can't justify any expenditure at the moment! The materials, quality and workmanship appear very high - so I look forward to using it more. ATB
So awesome pointing out Pendle Hill because after one of your other videos mentioning the Pendle Witches I did a bit of research. Absolutely amazing bit of history!
Germany here. Came across your video because I just ordered the Oppland 2 yesterday and checking now some additional information about it (Oppland 2 or 3 doesn't matter it terms of quality and shape I guess, only in size). But I have chosen the PU, not the LW. The LW is 3 times more expensive than the PU but only half as heavy, and I am not alone. I go to nature with my wife, so we have 2 backpacks and we can split the complete loadout. 3,4kg (PU) is really not that much for this awesome tent :) Wish you great adventures!
Top Drawer! Fabulous to see you back out where you belong - luckily I had a couple of beers in the fridge so I was able to join you for a couple! Some cracking camera work in there too, I'm amazed at how quickly you turned round some a top notch production - I feel "video shamed"! Loved it 👍👍- T 🙂
Thanks Tony - was so good to be back out, made me feel a lot better. The location is everything mate - and I like to capture the little things, which I notice and hope that comes across in the video. I'll be in touch re a wild camp on Pendle with yourself and Mr Survive the Night ! ATB
Just discovered your videos - they look fantastic on my new 65 inch Sony 4K TV. I used to live near Pendle Hill and my brother still lives in Roughlee, so your Pendle references warm my heart. Used to climb the hill every weekend for years, walking right from my door. But now cannot visit the UK because of restrictions on travel from my home in Australia. Likely to carry on til next year. So thank you so much Chris for something I found very moving in light of lockdown.
Sitting out here in a storm, drinking Beer Whisky and thinking better tek mi boots off in this posh hotel. Stunning views to Pendle Hill Great Video 👍🏻
I thought you were going over there mind, when you swung that backpack around and up onto your back.....That was a great pitch you had, what a stunning view that was. Real luxury in that tent mind, looked real 5 start plus and some brilliant names on those craft beers lol. What a great morning to wake up too, bit of mist rolling over the Fells, looked a treat. Great watch and pleased to see you back out again Chris, cheers Alan
Just stumbled across your channel mate 👍🏻 I was up Parlick a couple of weeks ago for an early morning walk. I trundled across the Paddy's Pole and Fairsnape too. Lovely walk.
What a view from the tent I don't think you could of picked a better spot. Excellent looking tent, looks like a cracking tent. Food looked spot on. Thank you for sharing ATB Dan. 👍👍👍👍
You look happy and healthy in this video, its good to watch someone get so much pleasure from such simple things. Whats with the thumbs down - must be jealousy...
Thanks mate - kind words and I appreciate it. As for thumbs down, I guess some people find it offensive to watch others enjoying themselves, I wouldn't like to be them though....... Thanks for taking the time to comment mate. Hope you're well and getting outdoors. ATB 👍
Man this channel is awesome! I also use to do the same, without a UA-cam channel, I love camping and being outdoors and also I’m a super fan of beer, actually I’m now doing my own beer so I usually take some of my reserve to my camps! I’m glad to see there are some special camping channels just trying to share great moments outside not just trying to teach the “correct “ way to camp. Thanks again and please show us more !!! Greetings from Mexico!!!
Thanks very much for watching all the way from Mexico and greetings from the UK 🇬🇧 I love the Outdoors and try and bring that across in the videos. Great to hear you're brewing your own Cerveza! Nice one! Maybe we should have a go. ATB 👍🏕️
Loved this one Chris! So chilled out and the joy of getting up there was obvious. The new tent looked good. Should be a laugh, with the rest of MCM cracking some cans! 👍🏼
Great to see you finally back out again Chris. Really good video as usual and the tent is top notch. I'm surprised not to see Matt and Walshy out on the post lockdown camp 🙂
Cracking video 👍, that's some tent, it's like a palace, plain to see you throughly enjoyed being out again, for me it's the first time after lockdown next week, keep the vids coming cheers 👍
The Bowland fells are awesome at night. No people, a real feeling of wildness and solitude, yet you can see the lights of the surrounding towns and cities shining way off in the distance. Wolf Fell is as atmospheric as the name suggests, so is Wolfhole Crag, on the other side of the Trough.
Excellent content, very relaxing. You picked a great place to pitch. When we get out maybe we’ll see you on Anglesey - few of us have holiday places at Red Wharf also! Happy camping 🏕 😁
Yes!!! The answer! JD the Legend 👍 thanks for that mate! Yes it was great, so nice to be back out, properly in the outdoors. Missed it so much. Thanks for watching mate and thanks for taking time out to comment 👍
Ahhh awesome to have you back out wild camping Chris, I really do hope it did you the world of good fella 👍. Excellent views atop of there and what better way to experience it than sitting in such a stunning tent and porch area of it. It really is something else and good on Mattis once again 👍. Thanks for the upload, top video mate.
Really appreciating your videos, thanks for sharing! That tent counts as a country estate I think, love it, lol! I'm getting back out on the trails and into the woods myself soon I hope. I've had a couple years off as my adventuring partner, spirit guide, and general master of mischief -Loki the Husky, sadly developed a irrecoverable leg condition. Its been heart-breaking and its been too much to think about going without him. I really need to for my own good tho. I served in the Forces and worked with a wilderness school some years ago, so I think I need to do it for myself. Good luck on your adventures & stay safe!
Good to see you back out mate, been a long time coming hasn't it. I got out on my first camp of the year last week, was great, really clears the mind doesn't it.
One of those gliders scared the hell out of me up there a few years back. I could hear it approaching but it was so quick and low I thought it was going to hit me, genuinely felt like it was less than 10m off the ground.
cheers Chris!!! That was epic, looked like a cracking trip and the weather looked good. That Tent is nice, I have a similar two man one made by Nanok of Norway, the wee porch is a life saver when it's hosing down. DIPA (D is Double......basically lots of hops i think) ATB and thanks for sharing as always.
Thanks mate - your tent sounds ace. I like a good porch, especially one I can sit up in! Can't beat a beer whilst looking out. ATB and thanks for watching 👍
Just found your UA-cam channel as I’m enthusiastically searching for hints and tips for wild camping. The plan is to get the kit and tools I need to make my first trip out probably around last week of Feb maybe first weekend in March. Not sure if I’m setting myself up for a tough one to start my new hobby as could be still cold I’m I’m a brandy newbie so any advice on this would be really appreciated. I just can’t wait to get out and try it. Really enjoying your videos thanks for all the great advice and reviews. I’m gonna work my way thru your stuff as I go. Cheers
Thanks Matt - best advice would be to take your time, do lots of research and watch as many videos as you can - there are lots of top channels out there. I can't wait for lockdown to be lifted to hit the hills again. Join my FB group too - it's a good place for advice mate 👍
@@MCMOutdoors Thanks for that I do need to reign myself in sometimes ha ha yeah I’m gonna spend the the next three weeks researching and getting enough kit to do a one nighter. Lockdown smockdown if we don’t open up by March I may have to go ninja and just do it !!! I’m not on FB but are u on insta ? Cheers
Awesome video 👍 just liked and subscribed. Looking to go on my first wild camp in years next month. Your previous videos along with some others also helped my decide to buy the Hilleberg Soulo. Just need to christen it now 😀👍
Great to see you out again mate. Just a bit of info you might like to know about. I live really close to where you camped in this video and there’s a huge camping shop/showroom really near there that not many people know about. It’s just outside Garstang - they’ve got some really really good stuff and they always knock a bit of money off for you when you go in. Most of their trade is done online and it’s tucked away on a tiny local business park, but the shop is huge and it’s all camping and bushcraft stuff. Seriously go and have a mooch next time you are up here. It’s called Tamarack outdoors. Let me know if you want more info 👍
Brilliant 👏🏼..really enjoyed the vid,I have a Nordisk Svalbard tent, just for solo backpacking, brilliant tent, not the lightest at 1.58kg but still the quality is excellent & video on here of it in a wind tunnel test sees it still standing in winds of 40 M/S or in layman's terms a category 12 hurricane & I'm sure that tent of years will be no different when it comes to withstanding the elements 😉
Hi Andy, I've not much experience with this brand other than this tent - which initial impressions are that it's very well made. Those wind tunnel tests I have seen and are impressive. ATB
do like the look of the Nordisk Oppland espically the ones that have the front opening front, they do look like a large palace more than a tent. wouldnt like to have it up on an exposed site, it is large but having seen you other video and wind tunnel tests they do seen strong
Happy new tent Chris.. almost identical to my Naturehike Opalus 3 .. However I am sure the fit and finish will be far better quality. Got a brand new Helsport Reinsfjell superlight 2 Sitting at my parents house in the UK .. Looking forward to trying it out when I eventually get back to Blighty.. Great upload , Nice addition to the collection..
Great video Chris, congratulations on your first post lockdown venture! Some nice beers there mate, hopefully the pack was a bit lighter on the way down off the hill mate! Keep on talking nonsense mate, that nonsense makes a lot of complete sense to many I’m sure! Argh your giving me thoughts of throwing the tent in the backpack and heading off to Scotland on the bike with your great videos! All the best and keep safe mate, Paul
Set off early from barley and not many people about, summit quiet too. When we got back to the car though barley was packed, car park full. Bet it was busy after lunch
Great tent pal, I was out last night locally on an overnighter with my Kelty tactical military 2 man tent, few tinnys and chillling watching the evening skies. Keep the videos coming mate
No problem at all mate, you've been a loyal sub for a long time so a shout out is no issue. The rucksack is a Singi 48 by Fjallraven - some deals to be had online - side pockets are extra but worth it. Solid kit.
Watching this whilst sipping a beer outside my tent 🙂, all that space though is making me slightly jealous of being stuck in a banshee but one thing you can't beat is that view
Ooooh I’m 4 videos done and dusted now and this ones another great one.👍 I also noticed the 14 thumbs down😢 what’s wrong with people!! If they can do better let’s see it🤔 Keep on keeping on Sir and ignore the haters they were abused children😜
I'm lucky ,I live surounded by hundreds of sq. miles wild conservation land filled with clear springs and critters to enjoy. and at my age still hike ,year round, Snow fall triggers my desire to track wild critters to see the migration patterns.
Great to see you out and about again. Curious to see the pack size of that tent and the weight info as well. I am also surprised to see that there is only one entrance to that tent being such a spacious tent and a 3 person one at that. Would like to see another entrance opposite to the one just to be able to increase airflow. I also suspect this to be only classified as a "summer tent"? Difficult to heat up such a large volume of interior space being only one inside of it. But should be easier when full to capacity.
Hi, I think the one door is to save weight...... Its a cracking tent and I will get to know it a lot more. I think it could take 3 or even 4 light season use.
Ostentatious I like that! Looks like a fantastic tent and spoilt for room when your alone. Those views are spectacular!! I just got back from a wild (ish) camp with my son.. it was on a site but no facilities .. A couple more trips like that to practise and then I will attempt an actual wild camp in the Brecon Beacons 🍻
MCM Outdoors I need some decent sleeping bags.. I got cheapo’s from Aldi centre aisle.. and after using a few times I came to the conclusion they are not warm enough.. even sleeping with clothes layered up I was cold and ended up covering my lad up with everything we had 🤣 (but at least they got us out before we made a spendy purchase and found out it wasn’t for us so not a total loss)
Wow, I just bought a similarly shaped Force 10 Erebus 3+, and I thought that was light at 2.8kg (same as my Banshee 300!), but this tent is an incredible 1.98kg.
What an amazing film Chris, not sure if it’s all the Abbot I’m drinking in the retreat watching, but your film techniques are very impressive. Not heard of the Nordisk Uppland tent before but was impressed by it. Wild camped several times before near South Stack on Anglesey, brilliant place. However, wild camping near Sandwood Bay in Sutherland with the Cape Wrath lighthouse in the distance takes some beating. Cheers 🍺⛺️👍
Thanks Mike - I'm sure the Abbot has helped there....... was great to get back out. The thought of a lighthouse camp - in the fog, with the eerie fog signal drifting across the cliffs appeals to me. Thanks for watching and ATB

Was a great trip out - thanks for watching
Stress just melts away, it does even watching Chris sipping beer on the moors. 👍👍
Can't argue with that! Cheers 🍺
Stunning scenery, the relief of getting back out into the open is something that’s hard to describe...
Was amazing to get back out mate. Thanks very much for watching 👍
What a great camp location. Nothing better than the sound of Skylarks and Curlews on the moors. That tent is luxury!
The best soundtrack available ! Ultra relaxation. Thanks for watching.
So awesome pointing out Pendle Hill because after one of your other videos mentioning the Pendle Witches I did a bit of research. Absolutely amazing bit of history!
It's my favourite Pendle Hill mate, thanks for watching
Trek and beer... perfect !
Life's essentials 🍻
Stress busting......whats not to like hey! Great tent and even better views. Thanks great video mate.

Thanks my friend - it is a great tent and you have made a very good choice there. I hope you both enjoy many great adventures in your Oppland.
Enjoyed this. Especially liked the "arty" shot of your walking boots parked up outside your tent.👍
Thanks John, appreciate your comment

👍🏻
Don't want to get that new groundsheet wrecked! Thanks for watching - was a nice little escape. ATB
It’s good practice anyway and good etiquette.
Helps prolong the life of a Tent and keeping it far cleaner.
👍🏻
Double IPA. Thanks for a great video.

Thanks for this Chris. Great video. Love the Nordisk. Now I’m torn between this and the Hilleberg. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Great video again! I work on Anglesey. Looking to do my first wild camp around here or Snowdonia, can't wait! Be taking some IPA's too 🍻
Good stuff Mike, hope you get out soon. Have a good one 🍻
do like the look of the Nordisk Oppland espically the ones that have the front opening front, they do look like a large palace more than a tent. wouldnt like to have it up on an exposed site, it is large but having seen you other video and wind tunnel tests they do seen strong
Great tent - very good - survived in some horrific conditions this one and I am looking forward to using it a lot more.
Lively fieldmouse that mate! I've long admired the Bowland fells from Gaw Hill on an evening, definitely look worth a visit. Top stuff as always
Thanks George, top beers and top trip out 👍
One of the best.sad atmospheric music suits the area but jubilant time
Thanks for watching Graham 👍⛰️
Great editing, love the reoccurring gliders!
Thanks man - hope you found it relaxing ✌️
Great video again.
Glad you enjoyed it
Looks a cracking tent . well done 👍 great video editing
Thanks James, appreciate the feedback! ATB, Chris
@@MCMOutdoors no problem matey
Happy new tent Chris.. almost identical to my Naturehike Opalus 3 .. However I am sure the fit and finish will be far better quality. Got a brand new Helsport Reinsfjell superlight 2
Sitting at my parents house in the UK .. Looking forward to trying it out when I eventually get back to Blighty.. Great upload , Nice addition to the collection..
Thanks mate - your new tent sounds ace - enjoy it when you get back and out in it!
@@MCMOutdoors Yes mate looking forward to it. Ticks all the boxes for me..
Topman.Brilliant vid as always.
Cheers John
Great video. That tent looks huge. But I have way too many already 😂
It's a luxury palace for one mate !
mate laffin head off at the size of your porch, its like takin your livin room on hols, great stuff
Insane isn't it ! Could have a party in that bad boy! Thanks for watching mate.
Thanks for watching Paul. Was great to be back out and I hope you get out very soon - ATB 👍
Top video! I'm still waiting to get out... Had a quick recce on Pendle this week but a wildly is definitely on the cards soon 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Was it looking busy mate?
Set off early from barley and not many people about, summit quiet too. When we got back to the car though barley was packed, car park full. Bet it was busy after lunch
Nice one Chris, looked a great spot in fabulous conditions, tent looks good too 👍 ATB Phil
Thanks Phil - loved it. ATB
Great tent pal, I was out last night locally on an overnighter with my Kelty tactical military 2 man tent, few tinnys and chillling watching the evening skies. Keep the videos coming mate
Good stuff mate - sounds like you had a top night. ATB - Chris
Seems to be a great tent.
Hi bloody lovely. What is that rucksack.. Think I've fallen for it.. Thanks for sharing buddy an the shout out. The hills are calling bud. 👍😁🇬🇧
No problem at all mate, you've been a loyal sub for a long time so a shout out is no issue. The rucksack is a Singi 48 by Fjallraven - some deals to be had online - side pockets are extra but worth it. Solid kit.
@@MCMOutdoors sweet I can't think we're I've seen it before but I think. I'll look in to it. Thanks for feedback.
@@stealthandysteath1069 no worries mate, I think Alpine Trek had them at a decent price. Good luck on the search 👍
I'm an 81 yearold Missouri Ozark hill billy and like that coat your wearing.
😂😂👍 Happy days! Thank you for watching my friend 🍺
Great film Chris, and love the tent!
Thanks for watching and appreciate you taking the time out to comment :-)
Watching this whilst sipping a beer outside my tent 🙂, all that space though is making me slightly jealous of being stuck in a banshee but one thing you can't beat is that view
Banshee is a rock solid and great tent - enjoy your time outdoors and thanks for watching - Chris
Ooooh I’m 4 videos done and dusted now and this ones another great one.👍 I also noticed the 14 thumbs down😢 what’s wrong with people!! If they can do better let’s see it🤔 Keep on keeping on Sir and ignore the haters they were abused children😜
Thanks for watching this one mate !
Another wonderful video .Great tent. Wish you'd mentioned the actual weight though. Cheers from the States!
Hi - sorry, it's 1.98 KG - which is insane for the size..... ATB !
Hi chris, amazing video's, take care always.
Cheers! 🏕️👍
Looks quite similar to my Nallo 3 nice tent.
Yes they look similar, both great tents. Thanks for watching - ATB, Chris
A good way to keep beers or food cold is stick them under the tent, most probably do but it’s good to know
Top tip - thanks 👍
What kind (name) of jacket are you using in this video? It looks really comfy and great for windy weather.
It's an "Anorak No. 8" by Fjällraven 👍
I'm lucky ,I live surounded by hundreds of sq. miles wild conservation land filled with clear springs and critters to enjoy. and at my age still hike ,year round, Snow fall triggers my desire to track wild critters to see the migration patterns.
Sounds interesting..... thanks for watching - ATB
You'll love it mate - my advice is just get out and have a go. ATB
Hi mate - you have a great tent there pal 👍 the weight of this one is insane!
Great video mate, nice one ⛺⛰👍
Thanks for watching mate and appreciate you taking time out to comment. ATB, Chris
Nice vid again bro!!!
Thanks mate - appreciate it!
Cracking video again fella 👍
Cheers Mick 👍
Lovely tent
Thanks pal
nice outdoor vid, stay on
Thank you Ray - I intend to - ATB
trying to decide between the oppland 2 and 3 for me and my wife for 4-5 day trips in scotland, what do you think>?
3 is MASSIVE - 2 would be ample 👍
@@MCMOutdoors thats kind of what i was thinking too, thanks very much for your reply and all the best, enjoying your videos. :)
Cheers - thanks and enjoy the tent!
Double IPA mate so it's just more IPA'ness for the win =D
Thanks Dave 🍻
Go for Deya for best IPA & DIPA. Guaranteed 😃👍🍻🍺🍺🍺
Me and are kid will be out next week 1st post lockdown wild camp we like two kids at Xmas 😎💪
Cracking stuff lads - enjoy!
DIPA - double IPA, usually added malts (I'm sure this isn't the first comment on this 🤣)
Thanks to the UA-cam beer community for the info :-)
@@MCMOutdoors bunch of drunks man the lot of em! 🤣🤣
