this song is like crack for me..I know when I listen to it,it tears my heart apart..but I can`t stop it..I try and avoid it,but I can`t....I think, one of the best songs written!!
I love to drive listening singing my heart out and crying to August & Everything After... Yes, still after all these years. It has that kind of timeless kindness. It's always a safe & warm place to rest after our heart has been treated badly.
I wore this tape out august...and everything after. Back in my day, kids, we had to rewind to get to our favorite parts of the song and you know something. WE LIKED IT.
@NowLifeStarts Freshman year of college this album played in every dorm, every minute of the day, never a big fan then but now it has a special place in my heart because it evokes so many great memories. And today I move to the very Sullivan St. he's singing about. Never saw that coming. Thanks for sharing.
I think that many people feel the same and agree with the fact that listening to August & Everything after songs, has brought very good memories. Wonderful those rainy days of 1995 when I bought the CD...
So glad so many folks have been able to see this show and these videos on UA-cam....It was truly one of the best performances they've ever had. Wish they would have released it as an actual show on DVD.
"Where all the bodies hang on the air. And if she remembers me she hides it whenver we meet. Either way now I don't really care 'cause I am long, long gone from there."
@conedonkey: "My closest friend in there was a lovely but temprimental giant called RD who introduced me to the Crows. He would lent me the August albulm which I really enjoyed." good decision on RD's part, that's one of the best albums in the history of pop/rock music. i dig the crows.
The whole show was filmed but I've never seen it released anywhere officially. I was just able to get all of the individual videos from somewhere. It was part of the American Express Blue Save The Music series.
What happened at 1:01? That was weird. It looked like Duritz kicked something as if to say, "okay, seriously. Lay off on the slide guitar. We FUCKING GET IT."
August and Everything After forever lingers in my memories.
One of the best songs ever! It tortures my soul and then softly returns it to the same place without any scratch..

Was this whole show filmed or was it just this one song? I'd really like to find a higher quality version of the whole thing.
