Honestly, I like the idea of Epic Mickey, taking such an iconic character and putting in this mature/dark setting. They wanted to make this a long running franchise, even making spin-offs with Epic Donald. Epic Donald would've had a more Ducktales vibe going one.
I also love the designs they have to Mickey's friends
The developers that are making this remake is called Purple Lamp studio, the same people that developed SB Battle for Bikini Bottom rehydrated, SB the Cosmic Shake, and the PC port of Sea of Thieves

Y'know, it's funny how you mention Mickey's ears keep turning whenever he turns his head. One of the things they wanted to make sure they nailed when they were making the original game, back in 2010, was that Mickey's ears would always move around his head just like in the cartoons, always keeping the same iconic silhouette! Not just in cutscenes... but also during the gameplay, wherever you turned the camera!
I remember when this game first was revealed. What caught my interest so much was Oswald The Lucky Rabbit. He was the original Mickey Mouse before Mickey was a thing. He’s like Mickeys older brother. The game is about Wasteland a place where forgotten Disney characters are
Epic Mickey was a great and fun game. Good soundtrack, good story, good concept mechanics, with a replay-ability of favoring paint or thinner. The problems with the game. (1) To many bugs on release showing how little they tested the game. (2) Development for the game started in 2003, but between 2008 and 2014 game advancement changed a lot. By the time Mickey released in 2010 it was viewed as outdated compared to the new stuff. (3) I'm very happy about Rebrushed, but I hope it's more than just a graphics upgrade because the main complaint was about poor 3d gameplay and camera control.
on the steam page it does say new mechanics sprinting, ground pound, and dash so stuff was upgraded

I remember playing this game back when it came out on the Wii. A hidden gem that Disney, being Disney, cancelled after the second game. Seeing it remade like this looks amazing and is a great story with Mickey in an environment you often don’t see him in

Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Epic Mickey were all time favorite games back on the Wii to see this to get remade with the newer modern technology/graphics we have now is a dream come true.

As a kid I remember sitting in the school computer lab looking at promotional art for this game and being so excited for it.
I think the ear thing has a name in illustration, but I don't remember it, but most iconic characters have a 2D element that doesn't respect perspective, like Charlie Brown's nose or Goku's hair.
This is a remaster, there is a Wii version of this game. Which was released originally. But nonetheless, I’m still EXCITED for this!

I know Disney has been a terrible company lately especially with them messing up Marvel and Star Wars but I won’t lie I’m very excited for this, I grew up with original Epic Mickey and I’m happy to see this game come back. One of the few things from modern Disney that I’m actually looking forward to!!
Hell yeah! I loved this game as a kid.
Loved this game. This the kind of Disney stuff I love. A little bit of magic and edge. The gameplay is a little similar to Mario platformers. It originally came out in the Wii. It had its bugs but it was charming.

This is a cry for help and a great metaphor for how various intellectual properties (Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, etc.) have taken some awesome and distorted them into something horrible. The poor guy(s) working on this may be locked in a bunker, pleading to be released.

Made long before they went down the woke path, and the Nintendo Direct calls it a faithful remake so I'm not worried.
Mickey’s ears move the way they do in this game because that is his classic ear physics from the 1920s and 30s which this game’s version of Mickey is based on, appearance wise anyway.

So this game is a remake of the original Epic Mickey game that came out in 2010. I don’t know how much of a remake it is, we just know that the graphics and animation have been greatly improved upon since the initial game, having all been redone from scratch.
A primary draw towards this game was that it brought back old, forgotten, and sometimes even rejected cartoon characters and ideas. You have characters like the Mad Doctor, Horace Horsecollar, The Gremlins, The Lonesome Ghosts, The Phantom Blot (this game’s version of the Blot anyway) Ortensia the Cat, and most prominent of all being Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
The other draw was the darkened atmospheric tone used for the game. There’s places such as a dark version of It’s a Small World, Tomorrow City (which is a combination of Tomorrow Land and Tron), a mountain made of old Disney memorabilia, Bog Easy (which is based around Haunted Mansion), Dark Beauty Castle, and Pirates of the Wasteland (based on Adventure Land). But the creators of the game really wanted to do all that they could with the darker tones. They went as far as creating some of the most nightmarish concept arts to see what Disney would be okay with. Spoiler: the more nightmarish stuff was obviously rejected by Disney (which isn’t all that surprising, I mean it’s only now that Disney is actually producing stuff like an Rated R film), but the game was still able to be made into a decently dark and twisted world.

Epic mickey is so good. Its awesome that it is a remake. Im definitely getting it. It got announced at yesterday's nintendo direct partner showcase. But its cool that is coming to playstation and xbox also. Gameplay was in the nintendo direct.
I’ll recall there was a Mickey Mouse game on super Nintendo back in the day where it evolved paint. I think it was called Mickey Mania . Where the game would start out black-and-white and when you keep progressing throughout the levels, you’re adding color, I think a magic ink pen was involved. This is what this game reminds me of an animation looks nice.
When I saw this announced on the direct I jumped out of my seat. I played the hell out of this game when it came out on Wii U.

This is really a good game. At least the streak was good. I heard that the sequel was pretty much just the same. This game is actually about a little over 10 years old i think.
