My eyes were not sensitive until I had cataract surgery. I also have hypothyroidism and now can’t wear any makeup without eye drops . It’s awful and I appreciate any tips . You’ve been most helpful.
I found your video the other day and tried the urban decay eye pencil and it doesn’t irritate my eyes at all! I wish you could do a drugstore version because I am NOT used to paying $23 for eyeliner. But not only can I wear it, it is so easy to apply. I really like it!
Thank you so much for your comment! I am so happy that you tried the urban decay pencil and it also works well for you! Yay that’s so fantastic! I know it is expensive, but I do find that it lasts awhile. I haven’t purchased any eye makeup products from the drugstore in quite a while, because I moved over to cleaner, cruelty free products which were limited at the drugstore. But I think there’s probably some new brands worth trying though so thank you for your good idea!
To be honest eye pencils last me ages too and I use them everyday. I am glad it doesn't irritate you. I think paying extra is worth it. I use Clinique eye pencils which are not cheap but I tried so many drugstore brands which irritated me and I cannot use them so false economy. I am about to try an Urban Decay eye shadow palette so fingers crossed! Up until now I can only use The Body Shop eyeshadow.
This has been so very, very helpful for me! I am a beauty YiuTubet who JuST NOW at the age of 58 has to give up makeup with fragrance AND I have moderately sensitive eyes. Thank you so muc for making this video!!!
I have tried several eyelash curlers including the shisheido curler. For my eyes the shisheido worked fine but didn’t give me much curl at all. Then I tried the black tweezerman eyelash curler and that one gives me lots of curl and keeps my lashes looking good even without mascara. It’s the only curler I have ever found that does that. I bought it at Sephora or ulta. If you want more curl or just something more I would highly recommend it.
Oh also, make sure to curl them right before mascara. I curl one eye and apply mascara and then curl the other and apply mascara. You don’t want to get any eyeshadow fallout on your lashes after curling bc it will weigh them down.
I also have incredibly sensitive eyes so I never wear makeup, this is so helpful! Have you tried any of the other Tarte eyeshadow palettes? I just like a little more color than the shade range in the Bloom palette.
Oh thank you! I'm so glad it was helpful and sorry to hear you have the same issue :-( Yes I have tried a few other Tarte palettes and Tarte definitely has some different formulas out there, some work for me and some don't. I have the "Tarteist Pro Remix" palette which I got for the brighter colors :-), and the smaller "Tarteist Pro to Go" (6 pan) and "Dream Big" (8 pan) palettes which are again pretty neutral. These 3 Tarte palettes work for me but there is just something special about the "In Bloom" formula that is so gentle my eyes don't even know I am wearing eyeshadow which is a miracle! The "Tarteist Pro Glow" palette (6 pan) highlight and contour palette (which I think has been discontinued) and the "Maneater" palette irritated my eyes so I had to return them. Even though the Pro Glow Palette wasn't eyeshadow, the powder migrated from my cheeks to my eyes and irritated them! For more colorful shades I am going to go with the Aether (now Athr) Beauty eyeshadow palettes. The Athr formula is so gentle too, just like the In Bloom, and they have some very colourful palettes! @@souperkrys so if you order a palette, try it and find it irritates your eyes can you return it? I am so reluctant to spend more money on makeup that I cannot wear or even sell on once used. 😢
I just found your video as I too have very sensitive eyes. All my friends can wear anything but I always have to stick with the same items. I rarely wear mascara as it always irritates me after a while. I have used the Clinique eye liners for years and my eyes are ok with those. Have you tried Clinique? I wasn't a fan of their eyeshadow as I found it creased up after a few hours. Have you tried Urban Decay eyeshadow? I have just ordered a small palette to try it. Up until now I have used The Body Shop eye shadow and seem fine with that. I look at all these makeup videos and all the pretty items they use but just no good for me. It is funny as I keep seeing adverts for Tartlette in Bloom and thought how pretty it looked. I cannot wear eyeshadow with any fallout as it irritates my eyes........ :(
What do you use to remove your eye makeup? I have never been able to find anything that removes eye makeup without hurting my eyes. The day after I will have red watery eyes all day and sometimes ever for a few days after removing the makeup. I do it very gently and with shisheido cotton bc it’s the gentlest but it still irritates my eyes so much. Any tips? I have also tried the makeup eraser towel but that one irritates me a lot.

Blinc Original Tubing Mascara is also great for sensitive eyes.
