- On December 21st 1995 Stereolab played a radio session at the Spanish radio show Disco Grande, directed by Julio Ruiz (at Radio 3, Spanish public radio). They played 6 songs and were interviewed. I have edited it and included here only the songs, which are:
John Cage Bubblegum 00:00
Metronomic Underground 3:20
How to Play Your Internal Organs Overnight 12:42
Percolator 16:17
The Extension Trip 20:35
Lo Boob Oscillator 23:40
At the time, Stereolab were Tim Gane, Laetitia Sadier, Mary Hansen, Morgane Lhote, Andy Ramsay and David Pajo (!).
I think this is one of their best live recordings of a great set list. I had the fortune of listening to it the first time it was aired, back in 1995, and became a big fan ever since. I recorded it on cassette back then, but recently I found the podcast on the radio station website and I edited it with better quality.
You can listen and download the complete podcast (music and interview in Spanish) here: www.rtve.es/alacarta/audios/di...
Saw them in Cork in 1992 for £4 IR, the currency doesn't exist anymore but that night changed my life
These grooves saved my life. I can't speak to anything else.
Same
The Anniversary. saved me. try it. any b sides you can find are the best
I did a gig with them last week. Very cool.
@@gravyblue whoa! You get a sub, my friend 😃
@@donniebobb74 😁😁😁😘😘😘
just saw them last night in toronto - what a fabulous band!! totally killin it! 🎹 🖤 ✨
They are the best! I'll see them twice in their tour in Europe next month
RIP Mary Hansen
Yo estuve allí, con dos personas más. Sensacional.
This is just fucking fantastic. Thank you so much.
I had the pleasure of seeing them in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They were touring in support of Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night. They killed it.
It keeps getting deeper and deeper...
Love hearing the synthesizers way up front on that last track.
So awesome.....ecstasy....those dull afternoons preparing my Econometry exams
Dope.
Thank you for posting this.
thanks for putting this together
Fantastic thank you 👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks! This is superb. : )
Thanks Jordi!
EXCELLENT! thank you Jordi
Thanks for posting this. Total time warp.
Thanks! Timeless time machine right here
Superb. One of my favourite bands on fine form. Good post, mate
Amazing!
Brilliant end to the set! Thanks so much
I heard Mars Audiac Quintet playing in a record store in the mid 90's and bought it on the spot. Since then I have slowly explored more of this wonderful group. If you like minimal music, then look out for Young Marble Giants who (sadly) only released a single album. Then I discovered Porcupine Tree... but Stereolab's Three-Dee Melody gets me grooving every time :)
Porcupine Tree is the best thing to happen to rock music in a long time. The Sky Moves Sideways, Signify, Up The Down Stair, In Absentia, Fear Of A Blank Planet and even the new one. Plus their tour last year kicked ass! Finally got to see them.
Porcupine tree eh, that's quite an interesting rock family tree (pardon the pun) what with Japan's Richard Barbieri involved among others. I really like Steven Wilson's production work, esp his remastering of XTC...also his varied collaborations. Ever heard (Japan bassist) Mick Karn's album *'Bestial Cluster'* and *'The Tooth Mother'* (1998) with Wilson and Barbieri involved, also Steve Jansen. Good album that one. Wow this really is a great session from Stereolab. Love it.
This is exquisite.
Thanks for uploading, Jordi 👍🏻
Great version of lbo , one of my fave lab tunes
This set is sooo good! 💌💌💌
Everything about them ❤
I saw them in Central Park 1995/96? good memories ..!!!
Gran documento. Una pena que no se publiquen los archivos inmensos de Radio 3, como se hacía en la BBC con las sesiones de John Peel.
Great stuff.
I love the band!
Gramderrimo !! Gracias 💜
classic! ty
Excellent Time & Place....
Getting major Julian Cope vibes from the very beginning of the first track - precisely the "Necropolis" and "The Subtle Energies Commission" instrumentals on the Jehovahkill album.
Wow, a super-early rendition of Metronomic Underground, well-before the release of Emperor Tomato Ketchup. The song sounds a bit stiff compared to the other live sets of it, then you realize that they had hardly ever played it and probably not studio-recorded it before this.
gran registro para la historia !! Gracias Jordi. máxima calidad conseguible. Han pasado 25 años y la tragedia les acompañaría.
My Stereo💓!!!
GREAT!!!!!!
Brilliant
I like it :)
Me encantan los coros🙌🪄🌈
track one on loop 24hour marathon ,,,,
I like Stereolab.
Great version of How to play your internal organs overnight
Never heard this, some rare stuff they didn’t do live often
Shanmé ! Bon souvenirs sur StereoLab.
Guapísimo
❤
❤🙏
We miss you Mary
La linea del bajo suena increible, mejor que en los peel sessions
iconic tune, people listen
Dang! This is nice, this is what it's all about. So where you been hidin' this stuff? And where can i get some more?
Dave Pajo played with Stereolab? Not sure how I did not know this. Huge Stereolab fan from back then and love Pajo's work with Papa and Aerial M from shortly after this timeframe.
Papa M opened for Stereolab when I saw them at the Bluebird Theater (Denver) in 1999.
Bubblegum cale!!
hiper reed!!
аmazing
my impeccable taste in music brought me here
(sorry, had to steal that gem)
In beginning Lo boob oscitator, remember french music. 🤔💙

Do you know the band Broadcast? ua-cam.com/play/PLCdPanpqsqVgU87q2CJX74pzFecwGW2hX.html
12:43
Percolator remember, a little, Progressive "rock" (Pop). 🤔
Ojorowei
only Austin Powers might love this band more than i.
isnt track one "Revox"?
No, it's John Cage Bubblegum, but they are similar though!
ah thank you. im embarrassed. i must have listened to thousands of hours of this band when i was younger and now i cant even remember names. thanks for putting this up.
just came back to add that a really nice live video performance of JCB is still here: ua-cam.com/video/fHraUBOWe9E/v-deo.html
une maquette?
C'est un concert pour une station de radio en Espagne.
Joe Dilworth or Andy? I'm thinking Ramsey. Joe rolled more. The bass guitarist and drums aren't connected. I advise you listen to the original.
Andy Ramsay on drums! I personally love his playing (I'm a drummer too).
The sound is very unique. I think that Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, and The Voidz, will like a lot of these creative slow songs. 🤔
Bruce Springsteen borm to run
Excellent but influenced by Neu! La Duesseldorf etc but it's only my opinion!
Didn't like the singer.
❤
