Yellen's 'overcapacity' is just doublespeak for being uncompetitive.
sad to hear this. but not surprised. probably at this point, Europe should just buy the batteries from Japan, Korea and China.
Once Europe buys China's EVs it also buys future recycling materials. Europe would be wise to become world's leading battery recycling center. Add in the billions of lithium batteries in phones pads laptops and countless other items and you've got a new needed industry world mining.
Thats what they already do lol What Europe is trying to do is revert that and stop especially China's monopoly on battery materials mining facilities from destroying Europe's energy transition 🤗

Europe needs battery factories to avoid having to buy car batteries from China. The problem is that you have no idea how complicated it is with "borrowed" money to build a factory without knowledge and experience when China is far ahead of us in technology. It also requires a lot of patience and many costly mistakes to gain the experience needed to make the factory work.
Thanks, It seems to me that it's time for the high capacity storage battery industry to commence convergence on just a few well proven, open but standardised designs.
OPEC members see the end of the gasoline engine. If European auto makers do not modernize, they will cease to exist. Consider this, what if Airbus had not transitioned from propeller engines to jet engines? BMW nor VW have an EV model that is mass produced; that is 200,000 sold per year,...Tesla and BYD "each" sell and maufacture over one million per year!
Just buy the Chinese batteries and stop all this crap banning them.
