Cory, how'd you get the sound that beginning of the vid? I see the data corrupter but can't make what the blue pedal to the left is. What are you using them for? Cheers bro
Exactly. I like to occasionally kick up the speed, but my Vibes, my Nautilla and my Electric Mistress clone are almost always close to their lowest speed setting. Also the depth is almost equally low. Phaser/vibe/flangers are best at low speeds and medium low depth.
1-100 digital, analog rate around 3 or 4 ish,is sweet spot, for aggressive heavy stuff that I usually do but it's also psychedelic I think if you're playing at a pretty fast pace it slower rate goes with it well also even slow and sustaining stuff the faster rates I was just like too much of a constant signal phase drowning out most notations depending on your mix settings
I know, who wants to make weird fast laser/alien noises all the time. I've been looking for a slow phaser, and people in the reviews rarely show how slow they can go. haha! man.
Superb demo as usual with Cory! Everything is explained in the artistic goal, it's not reduced to technical specs. Also love the guitar and synth mix that gives a wider view of possibilities. Thank you
My favorite phaser for sure. I love and used a phase 90 forever as it had the thickness of tone I find others lacking. The Grand Orbiter gives me everything, tone and flexibility. Plays well with others. After compressor, before gain pedals. Fucking love it.
I bought mine a few years ago and love it! Especially with my Space Force and Wampler Dracarys and Sovereign pedals! Out of this world tone. Great product guys!
Thanks for the slow rate demo almost nobody on UA-cam drops the rate of a phaser. If you ever make a new version make it go even sloooooooower. I’ll probably buy this one in the meantime.
Cory's demos on both guitar and synth are among the best on youtube, at least to my tastes. The music is so well in sync with the pedals. :) As a phaser lover, gonna be getting on of these for my board.
@@EarthQuakerDevices thanks for doing what u guys do. EQD is my favorite pedal company that exists today. If i could afford it, i would purchase every single pedal u guys make.
I'm gonna have to try one of these. I'm after a nice drone sound using my guitar, got a freeze pedal coming and i reckon these slow phases afterwards might do it :)
I have a phaser pedal (Bad Stone) that lets me freeze the LFO like the Grand Orbiter. Very useful to me. I like my Bad Stone but the EQD is just a better sounding and more adjustable phase machine. The Vibrato Mode is truly beautiful. Top notch, top shelf. It's on my list. Is the soft switching/momentary feature on just the V3 or the V2 as well? Is the V2 the same circuit?
This pedal is good. But EarthQuakerDevices could recreate it in stereo and with one channel of the Interstellar Orbiter and a switchable circuit for series/parallel/off. Interstellar Orbiter were far way better because the vowel tones. Yes, we want a channel with vowel sounds, but with a phaser tone. When you guys do that, I will buy one certainly.
this is what I've been lookign for in a phaser :0 I have a question about the flexi-swtich on the v3 though. Do any features on the pedal make use of the flexi switch?
It is the ultimate phaser pedal. The flexi-switch enables/disables everything all at once, so you would basically be using the momentary feature to bring the oscillations back into your signal path.
I don’t know if my pedal is broken, but with the switch in the first position and the rate knob all the way down, it’s not nearly as slow as what the pedal in the video is shown to do via the LED
I have the v2, but sadly I was quite disappointed. The videos and reviews showed something that it didn't deliver combined with the rest of my gear (I live in a country were trying things in store isn't an option).
Hi Julius. Sorry to hear about your experience. Please feel free to contact us for tech questions anytime. Thank you for trying Grand Orbiter. earthquakerdevices.com/contact
it´s funny how these videos work, you should focus only in the grand orbiter and just play with that pedal, without any other, because the final result is that the pedal sucks if you play it without external effects
Thanks for checking out Grand Orbiter!! We invite you to subscribe to our channel for more content like this!

The slow modes are the best parts of phasing. Too many phasing pedals miss this and miss the joy.
Truth

Yeah I usually go all the way down to like 11 I would have a hundred for setting speed rate then around 21 to 25 33 in the forties I rarely go hi

And to think, my parents said I’d grow out of this phase.
WOKKA
good pun
This joke won’t stop orbiting my imagination
Take a bow, sir. 3 years later.

Right on!
Please make more videos like these! Excellent demos :)
I just got my Grand Orbiter last week, couldn't be happier
yay! glad u r digging it, Manuel!
Where is your profile picture from I recognise it but can't quite remember what it is
One of my favorite pedals!! Just adds so much dimension to clean and heavy sounds when blending in some of the effect in slow modes.
Glad you like it!
That PRS is incredible

The opening sequence with the Data Corrupter, wild...
Absolutely insanely great pedal. A must have.
Awesome demo. Thanks

I own v.2 and this helped me SO much, let me personally thank you. That Hoof sounded awesome too.
Glad it helped! Thanks for the support
I love my Grand Obiter!!! Is the only Phaser i will ever own. I used to own the V2 years ago, lost my gear and decided to buy it again but V3.
super awesome! Thanks for using it!

Awesome, thank you!
Love my orbiter, works great in the fx loop too.
Great stuff Corey!
Glad you liked it!
@@EarthQuakerDevices big fan of yours
I want a Moog.
I kept thinking "This will be my next Earthquaker pedal" and now I'm sure it will be.
you get me
What a great review!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching
I’m crazed for phase
Thanks for watching!
Should have given us a two stage selection too. Phase 45 is still the best, but this is a nice sounding and useful pedal. Might get one of these too.
Grand Orbiter is still the best!
@@EarthQuakerDevices have to admit - it would be hard to beat.
I like the warble critique.

holy fuck this guy can really play well
The synth part got me kind of emotional
Cool video, got me thinking about putting a tremolo before my phaser for some angular phase modulation. Nice guitar riff earlier in the video.
Go for it!
That prs though 😱
Well explained Cory Juba.....is that the PRS Mark Holcomb?....love it with the Grand Orbiter
Thanks! Yep.

V3 has Flexi-Switching exclusively, and the circuit is relatively the same yes.
@@EarthQuakerDevices Thanks! I have a couple reberb pedals from you guys! Awesome stuff!
Lol the riff at 3:05 could be the intro riff to a Hoobastank song 😂
as every riff should be
Totally rad!
Really would have liked to hear that Rhodes you're using to hold up the Moog
oh man i thought you guys were gonna show the rhodes through it!!!
That is an alien ass sounding rig you got there in the beginning 😆 also those pedals sounded great with the MOOG!
came here for the floyd tone. left dissatisfied. i’ll cheer myself up by taking hallucinogens and playing with the rainbow machine at max volume
weird! my "came here for the Floyd tone" tattoo was just looking so sweet in the moonlight

Well you might as well cross it of the want-list haha. Thanks for watching!
Still have the big ole V1 on my board, love it. Mostly use it on Mode 1/Vibe 🤙
NICE! Thanks for your long time support!
I have been thinking always.. The need of a really slow rate for modulation. I can't believe it's not a more common thing.
What’s that other pedal you use at the start? The green one!
Hummingbird Percussive Tremolo earthquakerdevices.com/hummingbird
That arp sound tho
Well bust my buttons, I didn't think I needed another phase pedal UNTIL RIGHT NOW!

What guitar is he using here looks great! Sorry if I missed it in the video

does the hummingbird do that stutter effect on its own?
Nah, The hummingbird's "stutter" is more of a reciprocating cycle of everything and nothing

Phase best in send return?
Is this based on a R99 Ross?
Oh boy, I’m phased
High speed phase is musically unpleasant if used for Long durations slow phase is where it's at can't stand when players use a phaser at high speed

Am I about to get abducted by aliens 👽?
Why is there a phaser on the floor and a phaser in the effects loop on at the same time

hey, how quiet is this pedal? i love my Small Stone, but it’s too hissy.
