The Alexander recently was in the "Io incident" at Jupiter
( 21 hours before, Io Transfer Point) against Clark-loyal ships,
just after President Clarks declare martial law.
General Hague 's ship, the Alexander, was damege during the combat
but manage to scape and it's in his way to a safety port 😉 "Alexanders's run"

I loved how you modernized the Babylon 5 look not by changing the visual style, but enhancing camera movement, depth of field, and particle effects. This is stunning!
I agree! They kept the Babylon 5 aesthetic, but cranked the detail and overall cinematic "feel" up to 11!
Thank you for noticing that guys! That was the idea behind this 😊
Hope to make some battle sequence in the future 😉
@@DigitalEraStudios Oh, I REALLY want to see what you do with the White Star vs Shadow vessels, or even the Shadow vessels cutting into another vessel.
@@ex-navyspook sure! stay tuned! 😉
@@ex-navyspook though I have to say my favorites always were the ships from Earth and Narn!
Babylon 5 was underappreciated in its time and still doesn't get the respect it's due for its storytelling. Your work is a great tribute.
B5 is just unique! thank you for the support! 😊
It's core episodes are underappreciated.....10-12 episode seasons would have done this show a world of good.......alot of those filler episodes are just really bad.
Lady Morella said it best : Greatness is never appreciated in youth, called pride in middle age, dismissed in old age, and reconsidered in death.
@@alyssadraculesti 👏👏👏
Wish Amazon would try a reboot.
Love how much more detailed this ship is. They already looked impressive and definitely distinctive in the show. She looks way more real now.
thank you! that amazing model was made by Chris Kuhn! 😊
Babylon 5, possibly the best sci-fi series ever. Most certainly one the most underrated! Things planted in season one came to fruition seasons later.
an unique serie for sure! 😉
It is....
Stunning, there's so little B5 stuff, compared to Trek and Wars.
Agree! this is just a small tribute to all the B5 fans out there😊
Agreed, but Babylon 5 was always quality over quantity.
@@nicholasdickens2801 agreed!
Nah b5 back in the day had just as many mod makers as star wars and star trek. Every space game I played had b5 stuff. It's just star trek and star wars continued on, and b5 did not. Shame really, b5 was by far one of the best visions of the future to date. Not as utopian as star treks "enlightenment" federation, and not as outright in it's dark vs light good vs evil dichotomy as star wars was, yet more grounded and realistic in terms of cohabitation with aliens in a big universe and how humans generally conduct themselves. I personally loved the show. It was and still is ahead of it's time, with possibly the expanse being that new sleeping sci fi giant. I'm getting into firefly atm, it's surprising pretty good, even if I'm only an episode and half in. Kinda already sad theirs only 1 season.
@@moguldamongrel3054 Absolutely agree! B5 is so unique in many ways and it's one of the best visions of the future to date!
I just love the gritty realism of these ships and this video is absolutely amazing!!!!
thanks Dee! stay tuned for more! 😉
I really wish they had had the budget to show the true firepower of the Omega's. According to the original designer who was apparently replaced after Season 2 the Starfuries are supposed to launch from the ends of the rotating section, you can see the hatches, it's supposed to launch waves of missiles out of those side hatches, and those giant barrels on the front below the recovery bay are supposed to fire 1-Gigaton mines. These things are monsters, and they never got the chance to show it.
maybe we can finally see it 😉 stay tuned!
If you notice, the bow mine launchers/guns are the same as on Narn heavy cruisers!
@@Cyberbeagle1000 yes! and are the same that B5 fires on the severed dreams episode
@@Cyberbeagle1000 The Narn sold EarthForce weapons so that makes sense!
just wow.... THIS is truly a masterpiece of work, thank you very much! You deserve 100k follower and more. Maybe you can do a longer Babylon 5 Movies ? Thank you from austria/europe
Maybe in the future, love the idea! Thank you so much for the support! stay tuned for more! 😉
Wow! Stunning!!
That's the most beautiful realistic 3-D rendering of a B5 ship I have ever seen!! Very nicely done!!
thank you for the kind words 😊
Impressive level of detail.
Thank you Marcos! 😊
Beautifully rendered. I recognize that boost sound, too. :P
😎😉
B5 really needs a full remaster with updated visual effects like they did with Star Trek The Original Series.
Yes!, and the original CGI team had to do it! thanks for the comment! 😉
I think I'd prefer a spin off show and hopefully see more of the warlock class. But I'd settle for your idea too.
@@ryank5424 Star Trek, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Terminator, Predator, Robocop, Batman, James Bond, Alien, Dr. Who...are you sure you want them to 're-imagine' Babylon 5?
THERE IS ALREADY IN HBO MAX
@@curious5887 It's the original show. My youngest son (16yo) loves the show but thinks the Special FX are a lot outdated. When I showed him this, he said that it would be like watching a whole new old show (I get what he means).
"It's been 21 hours of hell. We were expecting an ambush, not an absolute massacre; we were lucky to get even one ship out of there. Now we are very much running against the clock to reach safer grounds. We're making repairs here but its clear that we will need to go soon, so we're working in shifts; even so, we're struggling, my own damn body feels like it's going to fall apart if I so much as move a limb wrong. It's not the physical pain that's the issue; all of us are scared about what's going on at home. We have friends and family back home; I keep telling myself that Edward is smart, he'll keep his head down and play things carefully. Everyone is telling themselves something similar, but everybody knows it's out of their hands. The one thing we do know, is that we are going to return to earth, one way, or another."
-Log of Ensign Adam Morganson
Brilliant animation! Kinda felt inspired to do something.
wow! that was great! love it!
Tell me, do you have a good voice and can properly recorded it (no background noise) ?

The detail was amazing, but it all felt small. Like an animated model that could fit on a kitchen table.
Yes, I abuse on the use of DoF 😅Thanks for the comment!
@@DigitalEraStudios You can abuse the DOF and still get the "big" feel, you just need to use a very narrow field of view, like a zoom lens and get the bokeh done right.
Also, instead of a single shot, you can do multiple ones.
A thing that also makes the scale off is the speed of the orbiting/motion of the camera. At the beginning it's just perfect, the sparks and then when the astronaut enters the frame, it's superb.
Great job!
Btw, are you using some Elite:Dangerous engine sound?
@@ivoxx_ thank you! I was looking for a long take actually 😁

Babylon 5 is my favorite series of all time. Seeing this made me incredibly happy. If you made more B5-related content, I'd be sure to watch! :)
It's my favorite too! Thank you Nathan! thank you for the support! 😊
Simply Beautiful. The Omega was a big blocky beast, but with its rotating section, it gave it a certain graceful beauty. Miss seeing these on tv.

Excellent video! The Omega is one of my favorite designs in scifi. Great choice of music too, it evokes a sense of wonder as we fly around this immense kilometer long warship.
Thank you Brian! The Omega is an amazing ship endeed! 😉

Beautiful work. Absolutely gorgeous.

Yay for Babylon5 stuff! Overall pretty nice looking, though did notice a few parts to look at if making more of these going forward.
First was texturing, while the guns and greebled areas were great looking, many larger flat sections of the hull, especially the front sides of the cruiser were pretty... flat, and tiled texture looking. Even if you don't add a few pipes or little boxes/panels to break up those areas, try adding some random dirt or battle damage or scratches or stuff on top of the ships hull in areas, simple way to break up that flat monotonous looking repeating hull texture, and to give the eye something to focus on there. Also that giant A painted on the front left side is just way to clean looking compared to the rest of the ship. Giant burnign damaged parts yet it's perfect white, no dirt or damage. And it's also perfectly flat, none of the underlying metal paneling visible all around it is visible through the paint, so lowering the opacity on its normal layer for the painted A might be a good idea, in addition to general damage or variation bits added there.
Extreme depth of field work really makes it look like a tiny miniature, rather than a large ship. Might want to pull back on its use next time, like going out of focus for some shots here or there is ok, but having the focus often even when ok seeming be so narrow is just not the most reasonable for a large shot over a distance for a camera, that's miniature territory. Which is a style that can be good, but at least personally doesn't fit with Babylon5 since it often went for that large scale sense, and they were pretty much all 3D CG and not miniature based for the show.
Small repair/salvage ships also seemed to like using their big rear thrusters and nothing else even when maneuvering around, and in odd flight paths at that for the few we saw, not like you'd expect if they knew where they were going, yet still to fast to be just examining parts of the ship slowly looking for parts to work on, and also without smaller controlled bursts of thrusters to change speed and move in different ways, something that I liked how Babylon5 had on its fighters in the show.
So that's my thoughts and feedback. Good work, and hope to see more!
wow! thank you a lot for the time to make this amazing feedback!
I've take note all of this, we agree on a lot!
Thank you so much! 😊 ❤
Holy crap! That is easily the most detailed model I have ever seen of the Omega class Destroyer. Amazing job.
Thanks! amazing design indeed :)
Awesome!!! Loved B5 so much back in the days.

The Omega-class was my first battle-ready star ship I ever saw with me own eyes and this is the best representation of her I've ever seen.
Thanks Ricardo :)
@@DigitalEraStudios Great Maker, I just noticed on my 500th viewing that you can see the Earth Alliance logo on the bow out of focus when you pass over the rotating gravity section of the Alexander. That's some Vorlon-level type shit, WOW!
Excellent. Now they need to hire you to do all of the VFX for a full reboot of the series.

I am really surprised no one has 're-invented' B5 yet. One of the best Sci Fi drama's ever IMO. To this day I still remember how sad I felt when they pulled the main breaker in the last episode and powered her down.
I remember that too! That man in the shadows pulling the power off was JMS itself.
I hope we can see some new stuff, JMS is preparing something:
Thank for the comment! 😊
I'm disappointed that they were not successful with B-5's sequel 'Crusade'. Hey, they ran other sci-fi series To Death, ie Star Trek & Star Wars & Stargate, etc
That render is stunning. Oh how I wish someone would redo all the CGI of B5. Though despite that it still holds up relatively well.
I love that too! and the original CGI team had to do it! thanks for the comment! 😉
@@DigitalEraStudios What they did with the technology they had was nothing short of outstanding, they have never gotten proper recognition for their pioneering work in my opinion. To this day the Omega class remains one of my favorite designs so I am very happy to see her remembered in modern glory.
You are most welcome for the comment, I just wish I could take your ship and put it in Star Citizen it's that polished. Real nice work.
@@Nine-Signs Thanks for the kind words! They were the pioneering, indeed. Maybe we can see the B5 universe in Unreal Engine in the future 😉
@@DigitalEraStudios My son (16yo) saw this video and said that it would totally turn this into a new old show! 😆
@@Nine-Signs While the Omega does look great the design team clearly took inspiration from previous sci fi works.
Watch the film 2010 (1984) - sequel to 2001 A Space Odyssey.
You will notice just how similar Syd Mead's design for the Leonov spacecraft looks to B5's Omega.
On that note do check out Syd Mead's work.
The man was a master of sci fi artwork with his creative direction in films such as Aliens, Blade Runner, TRON, Star Trek Motion Picture, Time Cop, Elysium and BR 2049.

Really great work. If there's one thing that is jarring, its the camera speed when changing vectors. Maybe decelerate and accelerate at a slower rate? Love the model! The color on the A really pops. Color is not something we got a lot on Earthforce ships!
yes, maybe it's all too frantic. I was searching for speed, rough jump, chaos and speed.

As someone who grew up on B5 I'm seriously impressed. This. THIS is all the franchise needs right now, a remaster of the series in this style and quality. No reboot (that would fail today anyway) but this. I would be BEGGING for Warner to take my money if they hired you to polish the entire series like this and released it.
8 months later I still love that and all I can say is I really can’t wait for more. Seeing someone who took the time to add all the detail, regardless of how small, gives me hope for the future of the B5 universe be it fan animation or official studio. I just love the Omega class destroyers design.

Ending with flying into the starfury hanger would have made it perfect
😋
This is a very minor quibble and really just a little personal preference of mine... The only problem I can see with it is the Depth of Field being a little too narrow for the scale of the Alexander and the distance the camera would have had to have in order to make those shots going around the ship. The issue is common in game engines especially (cameras are very difficult to control and the engine makes shortcuts from time to time that make your models look like miniatures), but I've also seen it in blender/evee renders. Other than that, fantastic work. The length of an omega class destroyer is about 1700 meters (a little over a mile long) - and when you think of things like drone footage and helicopter camera work of aircraft carriers and other large structures, you get a sense of mass and perspective from the fact that the physics of light and the way the eye perceives the world. Human life has certain expectations and limitations that if you play to them can be extremely immersive.
