I give my thumbs up to Peter for hangin in there and getting thru it. I've never personally used Hexi before and after watching this I don't think I ever will. I'm partial to gas (butane/propane) but I love the silence of alcohol in a trangia. After all.. you are outdoors to enjoy the peacefulness of nature.. and a hissing gas burner just ruins that.. at least for me.... Those wraps looked delicious.

Good God. It’s 4am and after watching you guys ,I cannot wait for my alarm to go off, so i can hit that New York Deli, for my favorite- Bagel with egg, provolone and beef bacon.👏👏👏😋. Thanks Paul and Peter.

Paul, I think the Hexi is a good standby mainly for boiling water for a brew and dried meals, it's served the military very well for decades, but the Trangia is definitely one of the best all round systems available. I've just subbed so lets have some more of your cooking videos mate, ATVB, Michael

Your brother is extremely patient with the hexi tablets. I would not have lasted past the third cube. I am a Trangia burner fan all the way! Now that’s a wrap.

I'm from NM, USA, and after watching you and Peter cook, together, a friendly comp. , you two seem very close, I like the trangia, cooks well, on another note you really need to know how to fold a wrap properly, tortilla's in my part of the world!!!! LOL good video

Paul I’ve noticed that no one ever mentions that the larger army Trangia burner fits the Trangia Triangle perfectly. All be it without the inner ring. Also that the smaller bushcraft essentials can accommodate the Trangia Gas adapter in the same was as you showed with the XL.
Paul you are one of the best and most informative woodland chefs I’ve seen. Please keep it going as you are well appreciated.

Watching two blokes cooking in the woods for 25 minutes and it wasn't bad at all. I never cared for Hexamine it just doesn't put out enough heat and it smells. I'm learning to use my new Trangia Mini kit and liking it so far. I thought I'd start out small and see if I liked it. I may pick up a Trangia 27 next. Thank you for the video Paul and Peter.

Watching this made me hungry .. Its raining so I think that the little Malti-Poo and I will go out onto the Balcony and rustle up something .. will use this time, the little Esbit Folder, Gel Fuel and Dixie Set for Pots. She loves Balcony Cook-Ups. Sitting back looking out onto the Rhine .. nice 👍.
I keep Hexi (Esbits Tabs) in the Esbit Military Issue Folder as backup .. just in case. However, I haven't used them in years .. preferring to use Meths (Brennsprit) or Gel Fuel (Sicherheitsbrennpaste). Both are far easier to source here in Switzerland than the Solid Fuel Tabs and much cheaper.
Using the Gel Fuel, I've cooked up full English Breakfasts .. Flat Balcony, in the Forest and Semi-Urbanised Areas .. one must just be inventive .. and patient. Dixies make for a more than adequate 'Bain Marie' to keep the already-cooked Scoff warm whilst the other is being processed. Gel Fuel is also flexible, very forgiving and safe in 'fire / heat sensitive areas'.
Looks like you both enjoyed the Outing 👍 .. thanks for sharing 😊.
Although .. a garrulous companion like Peter would have had me at sixes and sevens .. begging for quiet .. especially the tirade at the thought of dog licking bacon 😳😁.
    Take care ..

I'd assume that the 'Private Land' notice on the Gate is to deter Travellers/Gypsies from taking root on that field - just a guess?! Very useful info, thanks for the upload; I have the Larger Military Trangia (twist top not screw) and Pocket Rocket gas stove but have never tried the Hex Blocks
*I even have/use the same Trangia Stand/Shield as yourself but had to mod the internal ring to get the 'Larger Military Tangia' to fit :)

      www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Kitchen-Caddy/179615334
With a 5 inch duct cap, and outer sheathing (windshield or not), inside can hold up to 7 different bowls and rice bowls, fork, spoon, silicone (12 oz) cup, silicone mitt, silicone baking cupcakes, metal skewers. Alcohol stove, sterno, biofuel, coal, charcoal, briquet, esbit, wood, ... all useful ... and canned fuels, adjustable height to top of rim (for blue flame maximum heat). Cooking, grilling, stew, broth, soup, (baking cupcake muffins/brownies), skewer and shish kabob meat/fish/vegs, also use sheath and duct cap as baking oven. Quite unique - expensive as all hell, because all items had to be retail (and singly) purchased, but it is fantastic, ... and can also be used to carry live coals (leave vehicle, go on hike, and have coals and fire/hot meal ... while others still looking for wood, fire, etc.).
