One thing I never really try is birds in flight. This one setting has made ALL the difference. A leisurely walk on the beach turned into an amazing photography shoot. I think I may have gotten my best Wildlife photo ever.

Beautiful area for both landscape and bird photography! That vertical shot of the bird at 4:20 is amazing! Everything about it is just perfect - from the way to his beak and legs are pointing straight down and his wings both straight up. Perfect! Also loved the in-flight one at 6:23 and the ones at the end with the bird and baby! Stunning work, probably your best bird photography so far in my opinion! Great stuff as always my friend!

I got a question, do You have EF 100-400mm ? If yes, is it better to use 100-400mm and crop images, or sigma will be better for wildlife? how about AF and tracking on sigma ?

Nice video, touching! The 90D is a great camera, I bought it when it was released in 2019 and I'm very happy with it despite it's shortcomings and flaws. I didn't have that focus tracking problem with birds in flight (I use Canon 100-400 II) but I'll try to adjust that setting to see if I notice any difference. Thanks!
And, BTW, nice Instagram account, you'v got a new follower :)

Some people try to trash the 90D that you need the right “resolving power” on the lenses but every lens I’ve ever used on it has been sharp even when cropped way in. Some people just don’t know how to use lenses and their focus properly. The 90D is a great camera for the price. Great shots and nice work by the way.

Wow, love these shots! That's strange regarding the tracking setting, I've had it fully locked on for ages but will have to give this a go. Always put the low keeper rate down to the 90D's OVF focusing system not being great when shooting with a high speed burst.

Definitely, for the price of the setup it certainly has its limitations. But the better you get at realizing them the more success you can have with it. I almost always have it on locked on as well, until I was after the birds in flight. In forest locked on for sure. Glad you enjoyed !

Most have made the jump to mirrorless and i don't relate well to that with me being a diehard dslr user. I also have Sigmas 120-300 2.8 and the 500 f4. Both sport versions. Loved your tern photos. Awesome and glad to hear you enjoyed the shots! I really think the 90d catches a lot of negativity because of its pixel density. But anytime I think about making a switch I cant find a good enough reason to. The camera does so much effectively. How do you find using a prime lens? @timothylabrecque8589  Рік тому +1

I havent used the r7 but it looks like a great wildlife setup. The advantage would be being able to see your exposure through the viewfinder where as the 90d you will have to get used to figuring out where you want to be with exposure compensation and such. The downside for the r7 would be now you have to get an adapter to use your sigma, and also the bird eye detect doesnt work as well with third party glass. I would get the r7 , and start saving for an rf wildlife lens

Usually -.3 stops of exposure compensation if its sunny. Another thing I found was when using autofocus (back button focus) i found taking my thumb off the AF when firing the shutter , essentially locking focus is a good technique.
