Good video I enjoyed it a lot. Thank you for showing your insulation mistakes. I don’t know how many times I’ve done that myself. With the wall anchors It was nice to know somebody else does it to again thank you.

Thanks for the video. I am seriously considering doing some air filtration in my garage shop. If anything to keep my wife from complaining about the dust. Question: How often do you have to change the filters and are they a standard size or do you have to get Wen filters?

I have the same one I bought a few years ago. It works great I am sure you will like it. I ended up screwing a strip of wood across the joist then screwed my hooks into them.
I put my about in the middle of my table saw and lathe as close to the ceiling as I could get. Only 8 foot ceilings as well. My lathe is the worst dust maker of the all my tools when I am sanding.
But I have my cyclone going with a home made dust shoot that really pulls a lot in.
I like how you tested it over night. I guess I should have tried that.
    Great video review.

Dang Gary I like that advice about screwing some wood across the joists and just screwing into that, seems a lot more sustainable than using "Ceiling" anchors. It's been about a month since I've gotten it and it has sparked a dust collection crusade in my shop. Dust is now the enemy

    • @ThePapa1947

Those anchors you used are amazingly strong. Should hold just fine.
Yes dust has a way of getting everywhere. I once sanded some Purple Heart and what settled in my hair actually dyed it a strange color. Just a light tint but boy did I hear about it for the longest time. Pink really shows up on white hair.

I removed the control panel and rewired it to place on the bottom so I could turn it on/off from anywhere in the garage. Now I can run it without having to walk around to the front of the unit.

Enjoyed your video very much. Always found it really worth having some prefilter of the type used in paint spraying booths. it's like a loose 1 inch thick material . It enormously preserves life of your main filters, the only technical reason for not having a prefilter is that the companies want you to keep buying new filters. Good luck

I’m mainly going to have metal dust so I wonder if I should have it on a rolling cart so it’ll be lower to the floor. I’m assuming metal dust is heavier.

I would have liked to see you do a more similar comparison. The dust you cleaned off looks like it collected for several weeks. What we need to see after you cleaned it, ran the sander and WEN is to then wipe down again and sand but leave the WEN off and show us the two frames side by side.

I own this filter and we love it. However, it did stop working after 9 months and upon inspection it was the circuit board that failed. I called the service number and they picked up on the first ring and I got a human in about 10 seconds!! They were very helpful, asked when I bought it and said it was under warranty and they would send out a new board. It is pretty easy to replace. I called on Friday afternoon and it was delivered to me on Monday!! Can't say enough about the great service from this company and professional help. I would recommend to anyone. And it is almost 1/2 the decibels of my old Delta filter.

Mine quit working but it was a slow death. Sometimes I'd go to the shop and it would be running all by itself. I contacted wen and they told me that signals in the neighborhood are allowed to intwrfere with the remote. Wtf. At first it only worked intermittently and then the remote stopped working all together. The button on the unit does not power it on anymore. If you live in the cities, don't buy a wen. Wens solution was to unplug it and only plug it in when I need to use it. So I'd have to climb a ladder into the rafters to plug it in everytime. No thanks. Shop around for better products. Only had it a year or so.
