welcome to our beloved City, Olongapo City Thank you for noticing how clean our city is. I already remembered way back then that we are recognized to be one of the cleanest and safest city in the Philippines. Please enjoy your stay here
Hi Dan & Quiang. I just stayed there at Subic Holiday Villas. I strongly recommend Urban Deli, Meat Plus & Gourmet Garage restaurants to you guys. Bon Appetit!
I love the way you live and explain local ways...and you have adopted well with the culture and Food. Glad to see someone like you showing the true local way of life.....
Thank you guys for giving us a tour of Subic Bay. Not many foreign vloggers covers places you vlog and I appreciate it very much. Keep it up and enjoy your time in the Philippines. On the road to 10k subs! Good luck. 👍🏼❤️
I've heard Dan say many times that you two like to travel slowly but it's only now that I get the feeling that that is true. Boy, you really take your time from place to place. I'm worried you'll end up in a place where there's nothing to do and the food is bad. But I admire your positive outlook, both of you, and I'm always hoping you'll find something to smile about. Happy travels!
This is great. I am aware of Subic Bay and its history but it will be good to see how you guys get on over there in its present incarnation and what you get up to. Have fun all :)
Nice city! Yes, very clean, well-kept and walking friendly. The veggie dishes looked delicious and I'm sure Dan enjoyed as well :) The lighthouse hotel looked like a nice place to hang out. I have to say the vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso makes for a nice cool down. Thanks for sharing Qiang and Dan!
I do wish you cover, MARIKINA CITY, their public market, how cheap to buy fruits and vegetable there. the vicinity surrounding that city, are Antipolo City, just 15mins, overlooking, so it is easy to come back to Marikina. But they do not have a beach. Only a river.
On a side not, Subic Bay was a former Navy Base, it was slated to more than likely be everything, and probably much more than whatever Hawaii, and Guam is to the US, it housed our largest overseas naval fleet up til Pinotubo erupted, and the US ditched the country, in addition to Philippines not really wanting anything else to do with colonization, they finally had their opportunity to be truly free from feeling like they were strangers somewhat in their own home. This is where I fell in love with a country even more than my own.
Olongapo city, had changed a lot for the better and still clean city. Subic bay was the biggest dock of the U.S. base in Asia and Clark air base was the biggest U.S. Air Force base. God bless and stay safe.
I cannot believe I have seen you guys in the market in Olongapo .I didn't have any idea that you were vlogging at that time. Glad i found your channel .🤠
So have you seen the Philippine suv? A scooter with a baby on the handle bar the father in front then the mother and two more kids? You said clean so much I thought of Paul’s uncle in a hard days night. He’s very clean.
Subic and Angeles city is a 2nd home for americans because they have their former naval base in that place, and you can find infrastructures they built
Hello my friend just built a house there and told me they get hit by the typhoons there a lot. You should start checking hotel to see prices and talk about places when your walking by them. Or the price of the places you and Dan stay. Just a thought. Thanks keep up all the smiles.
@@gangstagummybear3432 a decade ago. there were no trash or litter near the beach, it was 'cleaner' than what I see in the videos. I was not referring inside the hotel so don't start it, I meant outside the hotel and around the beach. It feels different from what I remember.
@@Kapefrappe Yeah, compared the trash I see on the day to day, the trash that everyone hypes up in places in Philippines is negligible, so it is nothing to me, I would still go to Philippines over any "clean" country on earth.
Question: Due to western influence, I've noticed you don't have the traditional Filipino transportation options in the Subic area. How did you guys get around there? Rented a car? Taxi's?
We used taxi and bus 11 on SBFZ. Like the jeepneys, tricycles are not allowed inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. They can only go as far as the main gate of SBFZ. Taxi. Unlike the jeepneys and tricycles, taxis are allowed inside the SBFZ.
Im from the US, and through my travels through several places over the world, I am still trying to figure out what is extra ordinary about trash in PI, I might be able to understand if you mean in the slum areas, but those places dont have any trash collection service coming around there anyway, but not sure why anyone would be going there to judge anyway. I dont know why "clean" streets are expected from a place less than half the side of the state of Texas with a population of 110 million people, and alot of that space not even occupied, add to that storm damage, you arent going to get spotless streets. The funniest thing is, the cleaner the place for me, the less I want to visit it, long as the main places that I will be involved with are clean, and from what I have seen, I have never seen a dirty: mall, restaurant, hotel, bar, bank, airport in Philippines in any of the times that I have been there. I feel that the trash talk is often heavily overblown when it comes to that country, I have cities in my country with a tiny tiny tiny fraction of the population of Philippines with far far far more trash than is there, much of the trash in Philippines comes from how raw it is, just tons and tons and tons of sellers lining the streets, I expect some type of trash to be out as they come and go day in day out setting up their stores, and leaving, who is in the mood to clean up their work areas slaving in that heat, making pocket change, if anything in a day; lol, aint no one in a mood to clean stuff up after putting in tons of work to barely make enough to survive. I think the poverty is one thing that has a resonating effect in the country in weird ways that arent counted for when people try to bash the country for different stuff, that in addition to the issues of calamities, which is another issue all together.
Olongapo for me is ugly, it has no good sidewalks, the roads are like alleys instead of street. You guys should visit San Fernando, La Union in the Ilocos region.
Qiang is always smiling and happy--but when she is eating,, she is very serious😀...
lol

How are you finding most of the places you stay? Airbnb?
Yes, Airbnb. Sometimes I search from Facebook market place too.
January 2002 we stayed at White Rock Resort. Fantastic memories.
I like the simple life that you guys enjoy as couple. Keep it up!
Thank you! Will do!
Sure looks like the folks take pride keeping the area in front of the house nice and clean!!! A good sign of a good neighborhood and good people!!!
lol.
Thank you for the visit to our city
Our pleasure!

Yes I live here at Olongapo city
You should tour SBFZ residential and free port area, former base housing is really leafy and quiet, rare find in the PI
Thanks for the recommendation.
Subic and Angeles city is a 2nd home for americans because they have their former naval base in that place, and you can find infrastructures they built
I really like how you smile. 😁😁 Youre very beautiful. ❤️❤️ enjoy your stay here in the PH.

That kind of neighborhood is the mid-families in the Philippines. the cut of lots, are more than 150sqm...
what happened to the lighthouse hotel. it doesn't seem well maintained since the last I been there. sad. It was cleaner and the greener back then.
when was the last time you have been there? I have been inside of it as recently as 2019, it was plenty clean from what I saw

Where did you get your straw hat? Don Benoit. I want to buy one when I go to Pi because of my borderline skin cancer.
Dan got his hat in Guatemala. But you can get it in Amazon as well.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Welcome to Subicbay Zambales go up North scenic Mountains
Thanks so much!
Dan take a hint....she really did want to chill with a beer lol.
lol. He knows me well.
