Outstanding tutorial. I just picked up the HD unit at my local bike accessory store and was able to follow your instructions quite easily to pair it and install the app.
As a warning, the claim made around 23:55 that whilst sharing music, "if an intercom session were to open they would be able to talk over the top of that music" is incorrect. If you open an intercom session whilst sharing music, the second rider's music will stop. Similarly, if the intercom is open, if you start sharing music the intercom will close. Basically, you can't talk on intercom and both listen to music at the same time.
I found this to be true. The Spirit HD is fabulous, but this was disappointing. I got the duo set so my Wife and I could talk on a long two-day ride last weekend, it was a game changer being able to communicate while riding. But on day 2 we decided to listen to some music while heading back, but with the music on, the intercom session ended. We spent nearly an hour stopping in the middle of nowhere trying to figure it out, even coming to this video to see if I was doing something wrong. I gave up and we stuck to music - having my wife tap my shoulder if she needed anything. Cardo, let us know if we are missing something. Other than this, I will still recommend the unit, just with this one caveat.
I have a workaround for this , if you're using Spotify , you can create a jam on your individual phones ,share and play music and just open an intercom channel . However can someone assist me on how I should set the audio levels I want the intercom channel to be lowder while the music is like a passive outputits annoying that both sound the same and I can't understand either
The cardo app can't find my device. I paired it with my phone, but only calls will go threw, but no audio for music? Not sure why it's not working properly.
Thanks for this great tutorial! My only concern which may be a challenge, is to operate two buttons at the same time while riding. If not for that, I would seriously consider these. Thanks again.

Just fitted the Spriti to my helmet today and can honestly say it's awesome! Simple to use and sounds great even on standard 32mm speakers. I will be upgrading to the JBL speakers when I can though. Fantastic comms unit with the simplicity of use! What more could we ask for.
@@Raj3w3ls I didn’t. I found the standard speakers are more than adequate. I changed to the Cardo packtalk comms system which came with the 40mm speakers but opted to keep the speakers that came with the Spirit as imo they sounded better.
just got mine instaled today works great just got the Spirit not the HD but it is still great and sounds really good when playing music and phone calls
Same. I just got the spirit and the 32mm speakers are good quality. Ive tested it with bassy songs and it still comes out clear and not muddy. I hate that everyone is saying it sounds tinny but they are quite acceptable.

Very happy and impressed with our spirit HD duo. Sound is crystal clear and we have no problems in hearing each other even at motorway speeds (we have volume level set quite low and it’s still perfectly clear and loud enough ) The microphones do a great job of eliminating wind and any other noises. They actually cut off and only reactive on voice vocal speech, this is great as it avoids wind noise and also other noises such as sniffles etc that are annoying on an open intercom. Sometimes this feature can lead to a split 2nd delay & from the 1st word being fully heard, But most of the time it works perfectly with no delay, but the occasional delay is a small price to pay for unit not to be picking up wind and any other white noise etc that can be annoying. I think the spirit HD is great and for the money offers a quality bit of kit.
This is my first purchase with Cardo and I am super satisfied with it. I'll get a more expensive one later on. But for right now this is perfect for me. I only ride by myself so there is no serious need for multiple riders connectivity.
Thanks for the breakdown. I got the HD version coming in the mail for my wie and I. I've used sena in the past but hoping these will be just as good if not better. Love the price point on them for sure!
@@TwistedTales6six6 I only use it for music. It's great-ish my helmet allows a lot of noise to come through so it might work better on less noisy helmets. But for music it's awesome and no need to upgrade to those 40mm jbl speakers that are like 80 bucks. Trust me, the make the music less loud but more bass. I don't need bass, I want loud music while driving 180mph

Hi Guys i wanted to ask about a feature called "audio multitasking" let's say I have the dual pack and connect one unit to each helmet. to me and my passenger. we are listening to music or the radio and someone is talking. the volume of the music drops to listen to the conversation and as soon as the conversation ends the volume of the music comes back; fully automatically without pressing any key or giving a voice command. thanks

I just got the cardo spirit duo and I'm having the same problem. If I open the channel to talk to the passenger, she can't hear the music anymore. Then I have to close the channel so she can keep hearing the music. This will be very inconvenient. Will this happen on a phone call as well? Will she be able to participate on a phone call? Is there a way to share music AND have a conversation at the same time?
I love that you offer FM even at this pricepoint in combination with bluetooth 5.2; something Sena is getting rid of so it seems :/ How's reception? Ive read it sometimes randomly switches between different frequencies and channels even though reception is good.

i think that the only thing i dont like is having to press Forward+Down to pause music. would be nice to be able to set custom control layours in the app or something like that. id swap pause with the next song commands.

When we do music sharing, we cannot hear each other on the intercomm. But when we stop the music share we're able to talk and hear each other again. Am I supposed to click on anything so we can talk to each other on top of the playing music?

How is the quality of the sound when you are talking to someone via intercom and your running around 80kph? Some intercoms are having issues when you are running more than 80kph.
2 questions. Would either of these units auto reconnect in case a rider goes out of range? Are the JBL speakers compatible on the these systems? Other sources says otherwise… Thanks in advance
@@JonathanPerez-yx2ym I found a workaround. I connect both intercoms to my Samsung phone and route music to both intercoms from my phone. It is a Samsung feature, I dont know if it is available on other phones.

If you get any of the Cardo helmet systems and they don't come with the 45mm speakers do yourself a favor and upgrade to them. I can hear crystal clear at over 110mph on my Harley Low Rider S.
When both units are paired and the intercom is open and with music playing can you just speak and the intercom works or do you have to actually press a button? I have Sena 20S and all you do is speak and the music cuts and the intercom starts is this the case with Spirit HD?
is it easy to operate the device when riding some of the functions call for holding the buttons or using two hands and there flat its got to be memorized what buttons do what and where they are.

I have a spirit hd. A couple of people I am going to ride with have packtalk ede. Question if all the packtalk edges are connected with each other on a group ride, can I also connect with one of them with my spirit hd at the same time? I just want to stay connected to one of the other packtalks in the group whilst they are all connected with each other. Will that work?
Just installed my HD , the app gave a lot of bother connecting but i seemed to have cracked it, but how can my passenger listen to the GPS instructions at the same time as me as I cant seem to get this sorted , I have a 550 tomtom.
Forgive for not being very computer savvy. I assume that if you pair the Spirit with your IPhone that you will hear directions from the Google Maps app or the Carlpuride? I dont really care to connect with other riders just my passenger.
I am having a lot of problems with this thing. It only connects to one device at a time. When you connect to rider a the tomtom stops working. Volume when connected to the tomtom goes up and down. Connecting to my samsung phone produces static. Cardo gives no warranty on this problem. They just told me to restart and update. But when I update the whole thing crashes. Every single time.
Well I have my Cardo Spirit 2pac installed in a Nolan Modular and a cheep 3/4 with visor. There is an annoying echo in my headset proceeding my passengers comments. Any suggestions? Thanks
I have a SPIRIT HD duo for me and my girlfirend. I plan to buy another one for my dad when he and I go touring together. Can I pair my unit to his unit or is one unit (my paried to my GS's unit) maximum? I will not use it with my dad and girlfriend at the same time. hi cardo, i just install it to my helmet. but i cant pick up my incoming call by using the phone intercome button. it only pop up google assistant event there is incoming call. wether the phone or cardo setting but something is wrong with it. can u give me some advice regarding the case of my intercom. thank you

Hi , I don’t know if you still need this solution at this time , but I have the Cardo spirit standard , experiment the same issue , what I did for solve this is to set the mic sensibility in High in the cardo app , with this configuration I was able to answer my calls with yelling out to mic a random word .
He seemed to gloss over the controls for using the radio. Can anyone shed some light? I was messing around with it while riding and it seemed like, Triple press of media button: skip forward one radio station / sometimes goes in to auto tune Double press: nothing Single press: return to the first radio station preset. Can anyone help? I havent loaded up the app yet to see if that gives any insight.
My cardo Spirit HD device muted from one moment to the next and I cannot unlock it, the bottom button pressed for 2 seconds does not unmute it, I don't know what to do, it seems to be a problem with the device. I have already ruled out problems with the cell phone, with the application, with the pairing and with the wiring and base of the device.
My wife got me the Spirit HD for Christmas, and I'm really quiet surprised at the audio quality. Crisp, clear, ample bass.

Spirit is a great unit for a passenger. You don’t need another Packtalk on someone who is 30cm away and not going nowhere.

Just installed my HD , the app gave a lot of bother connecting but i seemed to have cracked it, but how can my passenger listen to the GPS instructions at the same time as me as I cant seem to get this sorted , I have a 550 tomtom.
Forgive for not being very computer savvy. I assume that if you pair the Spirit with your IPhone that you will hear directions from the Google Maps app or the Carlpuride? I dont really care to connect with other riders just my passenger.
Can voice commands be set up to replace all that button pushing ?

I am having a lot of problems with this thing. It only connects to one device at a time. When you connect to rider a the tomtom stops working. Volume when connected to the tomtom goes up and down. Connecting to my samsung phone produces static. Cardo gives no warranty on this problem. They just told me to restart and update. But when I update the whole thing crashes. Every single time.

Well I have my Cardo Spirit 2pac installed in a Nolan Modular and a cheep 3/4 with visor. There is an annoying echo in my headset proceeding my passengers comments. Any suggestions? Thanks
I have a SPIRIT HD duo for me and my girlfirend. I plan to buy another one for my dad when he and I go touring together. Can I pair my unit to his unit or is one unit (my paried to my GS's unit) maximum? I will not use it with my dad and girlfriend at the same time. I just not want to pair units always when switching connection with my GF or father. Thanks.

hi cardo, i just install it to my helmet. but i cant pick up my incoming call by using the phone intercome button. it only pop up google assistant event there is incoming call. wether the phone or cardo setting but something is wrong with it. can u give me some advice regarding the case of my intercom. thank you

Mine lasted 3 months. Wouldn’t turn off, so I did the factory reset and now it won’t turn on. Can’t find a phone number for Cardo anywhere.
Are they capable of music sharing between the Spirit units?

Hi , I don’t know if you still need this solution at this time , but I have the Cardo spirit standard , experiment the same issue , what I did for solve this is to set the mic sensibility in High in the cardo app , with this configuration I was able to answer my calls with yelling out to mic a random word .
Mine didn't come with the square velcro...😮

My phone connects to the cardo but is not connecting to the app. How do I fix this?
He seemed to gloss over the controls for using the radio. Can anyone shed some light? I was messing around with it while riding and it seemed like,
Triple press of media button: skip forward one radio station / sometimes goes in to auto tune
Double press: nothing
Single press: return to the first radio station preset.
Can anyone help? I havent loaded up the app yet to see if that gives any insight.
My cardo Spirit HD device muted from one moment to the next and I cannot unlock it, the bottom button pressed for 2 seconds does not unmute it, I don't know what to do, it seems to be a problem with the device.
I have already ruled out problems with the cell phone, with the application, with the pairing and with the wiring and base of the device.

If I am riding solo and doesn't want to answer phone calls, can I NOT mount the microphone?
You can just reject a call from the unit, or I suppose you could put your phone on total silence before riding.
