During Corona I had a lot of time and I watched a lot of videos. Then I saw a video of someone who built his snaredrum by himself, so i thought: I BUILD MY OWN DRUMSET!
Unfortunally i didn't film the whole building process, but i think in this video you'll understand how it works.
How it sounds i am so anxious about it, great job
How do they sound, awesome looking drums wanna hear them
...denied.
But... it’s 2021, we get everything we demand... sound check, sound check, Sound Check, SOUND CHECK!!!
They sound like crap.
Probably bad.otherwise he had Upload a Demo!
Wood worker for 45 years. Drummer for 45 years. working in the lumber and wood business for 37 years. This is FUCKING great! Nice work.
Building your own drum kit is better than buying any expensive equipment you have. I think that’s a great idea to do so 😎
I've wanted to build some stave drums and never have. Top points for getting it done! I fully recommend scaring yourself by watching some table saw/router kickback videos, they will save your life! Keep making and learning, props x
Dude...no video of someone playing them? That's rough.
Tbh...
Can’t fool us. He’s a part of the drum manufacturing team.
If his drumming skills are half as good as his woodworking skills, then he’s great!
He's a woodworking prodigy.... no less!
Absolutely incredible work! Although it looks like very specialized tools were used.I bet it sounds like the best set money can buy.
Those look amazing, dude. Like, incredible. Can't wait to hear them!!
Amazing
crazy what people can do with simple tools and the right know how. bravo!!! impressing!
Love the stave build...lets hear em! :)
Excellent hustle man! Great vid with some really interesting techniques for the woodworking bank.
Servus! Ich hab beim Jonas Winkler die Bilder von Deinem Projekt gesehen und die waren schon echt nett. Aber nach dem Video ist "nett" echt untertrieben. Hammerprojekt! Chapeau!!!
Danke dir!
Those are beautiful, amazing work!
Killer build reminded me of my first build 10 years ago :.)
Love the use of the X22 music. Hiii aaand welcome!!
Wonderful job! And you picked some really cool hardware that pairs really well with your finish. My kudos!
Hell yeah, dude! That's freaking awesome!!! You definitely got some woodworking skills!! Great job, man, great job!!!!!
Absolutely stunning job
Wow! Amazing...🎉🎉🎉❤
great job very smart build
It’s crazy how you managed to use a router and a belt sander instead of a typical lathe! Great job!
Beautiful work! Congrats on the new kit :D
Well done! Rift white oak it looks. Those will be bright. Thanks for the great video!
WOW WOW WOW, that is seriously impressive, well done, you friggen ROCK 🤘😝🤘
Can we have a sound demo please??? Fabulous job!! Well done
Awesome work! Would love to hear it
Beautiful kit!
That work is just on point! Really well done. I've never seen rollers used like that before. Good thinking. Now I gotta set something up like that.
But I do want to hear what they sound like! Also, I think different woods would sound very slightly different, being different densities, depending on which wood one chooses. But, man, the finish looks awesome!
Perfeição !
Ficou belíssimo o seu trabalho e a sua bateria ( Drum Set ).
Awesome😄😄
Some good woodwork is an art himself, especially on acoustic intruments. Respect! I lik it
Awesome job
So inspiring! Looks amazing!
Why is your table saw blade set so high above the thickness of the the work piece? Dangerous..
That’s simply beautiful 🤘🏻
Very impressive
impressive technique ... creativity +100
Inspiring...such a great job you did...how do they sound though?
I hereby name you, Sir Slingerland! Very cool, nice job!
I wonder if my wife will let me have a drum set if I build it. 🤔 hmmm
I'm a carpenter. Seriously, dude, what you did is awesome🤘 just add a demo and some links for the materials....
That hand powered lathe is so smart
Sounded great gee thanks 🤯
Amazing work.... Respect !
That's an interesting way of doing with powertools what would traditionally be done with a draw knife.
That took a lot of time and dedication
How do they sound? After spending all that time making them, people are naturally going to wonder what they sound like. I see a lot of videos of drum covers but none of you playing the kit alone.
you rocks, congrats, is beautiful.
Stave construction......very cool.
Looks real nice. Wish i could hear em
insane! kudos!
Looks great!
so cool..
Wow wow and thousand times wow amazing please show how this sounds?
Amazing Work!
Great !
I'll be going down this route. But, better yet, I'll be trying to improve my finishing skills. There is virtually NO ONE who does custom drum paint jobs. When I say custom....I'm talking even if you just want a solid lacquer color. I'm having a custom kit made now, and was astonished at the fact that there is maybe one extraordinarily talented guy I've found who will do it. And, his prices are as high, as his work-ethic is low.
awesome idea.
Hey, does the router move up and down at all if it meets any resistance along the way?
Not sure if it’s because it’s a heavy router but it seems like it doesn’t move up at all.
I tried previously with this method but the snare always seemed to lift up off the metal glide rails.
Wow that was epic as shit looks So nice with the black
pretty cool
Sehr gut!
Wow, impressive.
Stupendo!!!!
Brilliant, brother. You'd better not ever stop creating, and after another 5 or 6 builds' experience, I'm going to buy a kit of shallow drums from you....so you'd better give me a discount for the early support 😂
How much did it cost for the wood, hardware, and heads because honestly if it's cheap enough this might be my ticket of admission
Amazing job, dude.
WOW!
Looks great! Nice job!
🏁
Excellent job!! Lots of hard work but also lots of future refinements if you decide to build more kits!.
Man your blade is supposed to be just a little above the top surface of your board you are cutting, if you accidentally have a tiny jerk or mishap you could cut you hand off with the blade all the way up like you did it there. You did a nice job on them.
awesome!! nice work. why anyone would give you a thumbs down is beyond me
Nice work man, I know Ludwig doesn't make drums liek a barrel the way you did , just ago the reason its so time consuming 1, and 2 I wonder about the sound for even the most expensive drums to my knowledge are made out of plywood. Do you have any vid of you playing it? Im a carpenter and would really like do build y own set but I figure time is better spent practicing paradiddles ha ha,
Awesome shells cheap hardware I’d upgrade the hardware and custom wood burn badges.
Very cool. Now get some safety gear: Safety glasses, push stick, push blocks, and an outfeed table for your table saw. You can't replace your eyes and fingers.
And a dust collector
Impressive!!! I bet it sounds great!! Talk about a custom kit..😎🥳😎
Geile Kit!! Es sieht wirklich klasse aus!!
Bravo.
Wow👍
Inspirational! I am current making a drum set with Keller plies shells. Your project is much more impressive.
Wow 😃👍
Where you located at? You still building drums? Nicely done. Your shop and jigs are very cool. I’m part of a reclaimed wood company and would love to type / talk with you if you can. Thx. Dean.

Nuts! I'm jealous of you having the time and space to do this project. Lovely build and well-designed jigs, thank you for sharing. Would love to see a follow-up vid of how they sound.
But yeah, push sticks. Woodworkers are always gonna rag on you for that, and quite right too. Why compromise the value of a) your fingers b) sponsorship potential?
Just my thoughts. Cheers.
just curious, how wide were the strips you cut? And was that 5/4's thick or 1 inch?
Kickass, those table saw moves though, shit man.
nice man..
Sau interessant, schaut richtig guad aus!
Wow!
👏 wow very nice bro.
Wonderfull Indeed, Very Nice,Now you have 779 ....... I'm going to make a drum set out of dried palm trees...will let you know.
Very Nice build. Do you have a blueprint of the gig you set up with the router that you are willing to share ?
what videos did you happen to watch? I've been looking for videos on drum building, as I'm looking to start building my own kit!
nice but how do they sound they looked a little thick (shells)
Respekt...Grüße aus Niederbayern :-)
Merci, grüße zurück aus Niederbayern :)
Hi, nice looking! would be great to share some tips, like dimensions on phase1, triming size phase 2 and so on.
Also would like to know weight of each drum?
Great video and success!
Especially that blade up so high. Super dangerous and absolutely no reason for it
maybe hes not an idiot and knows his tools is Karen your wife?
Wow! It’s someone’s baabaa time.. isn’t that right siddy poo poo?
Safety first loser
Tony's right, not safe.
Are these lugs gretsch? What's wood dodaj You use?
Great job. How much did it cost you?
All in all ~1000€
